"What kind of person is considered normal?"

This question can be both very amusing and very philosophical.

The reason it's amusing is simple: ordinary people wouldn't ask such a question without a reason.

If one day, someone close to you suddenly asked such a question, your first reaction would probably be to laugh, right?

After all, a normal person wouldn't suddenly think to ask such a question.

The philosophical reason is even simpler: from an objective perspective, this question can also become a rich and meaningful debate topic.

However, such a debate topic wouldn't be proposed as a subject of study until high school.

Yet, Fang Li asked this question on the first day of first grade.

That year, Fang Li was only eight years old.

You can imagine how awkward and bewildered the elementary school teacher and the other children must have felt when such a question came from an eight-year-old.

Just from this, it's clear that Fang Li wasn't considered normal.

Such a question absolutely shouldn't come from an eight-year-old.

However, no matter how you look at it, Fang Li was actually a normal person.

When other children his age were playing, Fang Li was also playing.

When other children his age were getting into trouble, Fang Li was also getting into trouble.

When other children his age were innocent and carefree, Fang Li was also innocent and carefree.

When other children his age were being childish and silly, Fang Li was also being childish and silly.

In other words, Fang Li was neither precocious nor abnormal; he was a normal child both physically and mentally.

However, on the first day of first grade at the age of eight, Fang Li couldn't help but ask such a question.

Because, in his vague understanding, Fang Li knew the one abnormality that set him apart from others.

...

That year, Fang Li was only seven.

Before the age of seven, Fang Li grew up as an ordinary child.

At that time, because his parents were busy working to support the family, the person who was most often by Fang Li's side was his grandfather.

His grandfather loved Fang Li very much.

When Fang Li wanted to play, his grandfather would play with him.

When Fang Li was scolded by his parents, his grandfather would stand up for him.

When Fang Li got hurt, his grandfather would comfort him.

When Fang Li became interested in a toy, his grandfather would buy it for him just to make him happy.

Therefore, Fang Li also loved his grandfather very much.

Even after growing up, Fang Li could confidently tell the people around him that his favorite person was his grandfather.

What would your reaction be if such a person disappeared from your world?

Fang Li had never thought about this question before.

But at the age of seven, Fang Li had to consider it.

"Sniff... sniff..."

Crying sounds filled the entire space.

Some were incredibly restrained, while others were unrestrained, but anyone could feel the sadness and sorrow in them.

Under those cries, the entire vast space was filled with a mournful atmosphere.

Under those cries, the innocent children were influenced and began to cry one after another.

Fang Li was in such an environment, holding his mother's hand, his gaze fixed on the front.

There, a black-and-white photo was placed.

The person in the photo was Fang Li's grandfather.

Looking at the photo, Fang Li really missed his grandfather.

Fang Li knew that the people around him also missed his grandfather, which was why they were crying at this moment.

But Fang Li couldn't shed a single tear.

Even though his parents and the adults and children around him were crying, Fang Li still couldn't cry.

So, Fang Li asked.

"Mom, why are you all crying?"

At that moment, his mother, with tears streaming down her face, answered Fang Li.

"...Because Grandpa won't be coming back."

Fang Li knew.

Fang Li knew this fact.

Fang Li knew that Grandpa wouldn't be coming back.

But...

"But, why do we have to cry because of that?"

When Fang Li asked this question, his mother's expression was a mix of surprise and confusion.

Then, his mother answered Fang Li.

"Since Grandpa won't be coming back, normal people feel sad and cry."

Hearing this, Fang Li didn't say anything more.

However, Fang Li had a question in his heart.

"Should normal people cry at this moment?"

Because of this, Fang Li asked the teacher such a question at the age of eight.

It wasn't until he grew up that Fang Li realized that it was indeed a natural thing.

The death of a loved one, for a normal person, naturally leads to crying.

Because feeling sad and sorrowful is what makes a person normal.

From a psychological perspective, when a person's subjective world is in harmony with the objective world, they are considered normal.

Because the mind is a reflection of objective reality, any normal psychological activity and behavior must be consistent with the objective environment, even if only in form and content.

When a person's mental or psychological state is out of sync with the external environment, they cannot be understood by others.

At that point, the person becomes abnormal.

Therefore, from this theory, Fang Li was not a normal person.

That day, Fang Li didn't cry.

When others were sad and sorrowful, Fang Li's heart was calm.

When others took it for granted, Fang Li's heart was full of doubt.

When others were crying, Fang Li's heart was full of surprise.

Being so out of place, even bordering on cold and heartless, how could it not be considered abnormal?

After all, the person in question had raised him from a young age, was very close to him, and was his favorite relative.

Such a person's passing, never to be seen again, should have made a child even more sad and sorrowful, right?

But from beginning to end, Fang Li never felt a hint of sadness or sorrow, not even the urge to shed a single tear.

At the time, the adults didn't pay much attention to this, thinking that Fang Li simply didn't understand the meaning of death, or that he was somewhat precocious and not influenced by the other children, thus not being moved to tears.

Only Fang Li, in his vague understanding, realized something.

That was...

"I'm different from the people around me..."

That was Fang Li's only thought at the time.

After growing up, Fang Li understood why he had been like that.

Not only because he had grown more mature, but also because he had inevitably experienced similar situations a few more times.

At those times, Fang Li also couldn't cry or feel sad.

Then, Fang Li understood.

No matter how important the person was to him, no matter how close they were, once they died, he would never shed a single tear or feel a hint of sorrow.

It wasn't that Fang Li was immature or overly cold and heartless.

It was just a defect.

A personality defect that Fang Li had vaguely realized at the age of seven, hidden deep within his heart.

"I can't feel emotions about someone's death..."

So...

"I can't feel emotions about my own death either..."

This fact was confirmed when Fang Li was eighteen.

...

"Bang———!"

It was an extremely loud collision.

At the moment the collision occurred, Fang Li felt a dizzying spin. When his vision cleared, the first thing he saw was the sky.

However, the sky gradually turned red and was slowly replaced by black.

The red appeared because Fang Li's irises were bleeding.

The black appeared because Fang Li's consciousness was fading.

At that moment, Fang Li felt as if his body was no longer his own, unable to move, even without any sensation.

Fang Li's only feeling was———heat.

Very hot.

Extremely hot.

His whole body was burning.

Around him, pedestrians began to gather, appearing in Fang Li's blurred vision.

Fang Li couldn't hear what they were saying.

But he could sense the panic and fear that permeated the surroundings.

His burning body felt as if something important was being lost, making the ground beneath him wet.

Fang Li struggled to turn his head and saw the asphalt road nearby.

It was gradually turning red.

Stained red by the blood flowing from Fang Li's body.

Then, Fang Li finally understood.

The important thing being lost from his body was not just blood, but also life.

At the same time, Fang Li realized what had happened.

A car accident.

Just a sudden accident.

Such accidents happen more than ten thousand times a year in this country.

Fang Li was just one of the ten thousand accidents this year.

"I see..."

Fang Li instantly accepted his fate.

No resentment, no hatred, not even fear or resistance.

After all, Fang Li couldn't feel any emotions about death.

This was a fact he had vaguely realized at the age of seven.

Now, it was just being confirmed.

If Fang Li had any thoughts about his impending death, it was just one.

"Where do people go after they die?"

With this thought, Fang Li closed his eyes.

Just as he completely lost consciousness, a cold voice echoed in his mind.

"Subject 11273 entering the Main God Space."
