“Little lord, if you don’t wear a veil, you will get recognized by people.”

The people of the Southern Wind Mansion all knew- Shen Hang Zhi did not like being called ‘lord’. The last servant who called him that was beaten until he turned paraplegic before getting thrown out.

What was it that other lords were saying? Oh, right, they were all laughing at Shen Hang Zhi.

“Acting as if you were still Shen family’s little lord from way back? Why don’t you take a good look at where you are now- aren’t you just a playboy’s unrealistic dream[1]?

And after that, the rabbit gentleman who said this had been poisoned mute. And just like that, the little rabbit gentleman who relied on his voice to earn money had been destroyed, with no choice but to leave the Southern Wind Mansion. It was not known whether he is dead or alive to this day.

Precisely because Shen Hang Zhi was fierce enough, no one would dare test their luck with him.

“If I get recognized, then that’s that. It’s not like I’ll get eaten up.” Shen Hang Zhi indifferently looked on at the stalls to the side with various little toys, stopped by a stall with masks, and even reached his hand to take a fox mask. When he put the mask on, he turned around to find someone wearing the exact same mask as himself. Feeling irritated in that instant, he took off the mask and put it back, “It’s fine, I don’t want it.”

When he turned back again, Shen Hang Zhi saw that the person also removed their mask, revealing a pair of fox eyes more bewitching than him, a prostitute, yet seemed as though shaped by nature, without any hint of seduction. He sent him a round smile, “You look really beautiful- even more beautiful than my mother.”

Shen Hang Zhi’s face went cold in that moment. He lowly snapped at him with a “blockhead” and proceeded to leave.

Where did this shameless person come from, no matter how good looking he was, he was still a man! How could he compare him to a woman? And even more so, a senior at that.

Seeing that Shen Hang Zhi was about to leave, that man caught his arm in a panic. When he saw that the other person turned around, his eyes shined, and asked, “You are quite pretty, really. Would you be willing to come with me and be my wife?”

The Shen Hang Zhi who originally did not have a good temper coldly snorted, and a hand went across the man’s face making a crisp sound, “Shameless person. Look properly- I am a man.”

“So what if you’re a man, we……” The big idiot smiled, and revealed a set of big white teeth, “My parents would not mind. If you come with me, they will surely be happy.”

“Get out of my way.”

Shen Hang Zhi had pushed aside this fool that had suddenly appeared, pulled his own attendant and angrily left. Instead, that big fool went and persistently chased on.

The area was only so big. The Little Father who coincidentally encountered this scene could not help but laugh, “This child seems to be a bit slow, how could he set his eyes on someone like Shen Hang Zhi. He would only suffer losses later on.”

The bone engraver’s little disciple carefully looked on, and raised his head to look at the bone engraver, “Master……”

The mouth of the beauty who had never smiled mildly raised up at this moment, and nodded his head at his own disciple. It was just a single smile that was hard to notice, yet it had made the person on the side dumbfounded.

Chang Ge……. He smiled……

A rush of sourness had unknowingly bubbled from the Little Father’s heart. He had known this person for so many years, yet had never seen the other person smile. But today, a person who he didn’t recognize had made him reveal even the smallest of a change.

“Chang Ge…… I……”

“I know what it is you want to say.” The corners of the bone engraver’s mouth had gone down in the instant. On the account of this “good friend” of his for many years, he tenderly spoke, “You have other people that you may seek instead. There is no need to waste your time on me, Qin Huai.”

A single “Qin Huai” had stimulated all his memories. He strained a smile, “It does not matter to me. Truly, Chang Ge. It really doesn’t matter.”

It truly didn’t matter to him.

When he was young, he was living a life of extravagant luxury. Merely from the other party’s applause and respect for him that year, he had thought of him for twenty years.

Qin Huai knew- every time Chang Ge came to him, he would reminisce about someone he didn’t know. He knew his heart was not here, but what could he do? He thought, if Chang Ge came to look at him every day, and slowly ingrain his appearance inside his brain, then would he not be able to take up a spot inside his heart as well?

But as time slowly passed, he gradually grew old. On the contrary, the other person would occupy his brain bit by bit, that even his bones should also be inscribed with this person’s name all over. If he did not remember the past so clearly, he would even suspect if the other person had engraved his own bones.

If not, how could he be so restless in bed every time he thought of him, unable to sleep soundly through the nights?

In front of this person, he himself was clean as a slate, without a shred of secret to hide. But him? Other than knowing he was called Chang Ge, and that he was a bone engraver, what else did he know?

Where he came from, where he intended to go, what of his identity- he knew none of these things.

But just like this, he remembered him this distinctly. He thought, even if he was not able to be with this person it would be fine, he could still grow old with him.

And thus he grew old, unable to go back to his youthful appearance that year; but the other person was as always, and did not even give him a chance to grow old with him.

The bone engraver had already left a while ago, leaving the little disciple in place to look at the pitiful Qin Huai. He handed over a handkerchief , but his eyes still carried a bit of a smile, “Lord Qin, don’t be too hard on yourself. Master’s personality is just like this, cold as hell. You shouldn’t take it to heart either. Take advantage of the fact that it’s still early now to start anew.”

That was his Master, how could he let others think of him?

Qin Huai who was caught up in his grievances had not noticed the hint of malice in the other person’s eyes. The youth’s voice had brought a comforting sentiment, yet seemed to be leading onto something as well.

That’s right- so many years have passed by already, what exactly was he hoping for?

The muddled Qin Huai returned to the Southern Wind Mansion all by himself, yet discovered that Shen Hang Zhi had long already came back, pushing and pulling[2] with the big idiot he saw earlier at the entrance.

To be more exact, it was that slow person who was constantly pulling at Shen Hang Zhi in a pitiable manner.

“You really look pretty. My mother has said, if I don’t find a pretty wife, I can’t go back.”

“I’ve seen so many people, but only you are the best looking one.”

“I am called Lan Yi. Wife, what are you called?”

Shen Hang Zhi was annoyed to the point of breaking. What was hateful was that upon a glance, this person looked to be tall and lean, like a student, but his strength was overwhelming, and could not break loose no matter how he struggled, “If you want to find a good looking person for a wife, you should go into the Mansion to find Mister. That person is the best looking- in front of him, I can only be considered average.”

After hearing this, Lan Yi’s hand loosened up, then tightly gripped again, then obstinately said, “That won’t do. My mother said, as a person, one should finish what they started off. Since I have recognized you as my wife, I should bring you back to see my family.

Even then, even within the clan, he had never seen such a good looking little lord.

Using the words of his mother, it was like the moon in the water, the flower within the mirror- if you don’t hold on tightly, it would go away the very next moment, and disappear without a shadow or a trace.

He did not want to never see this good looking little lord ever again.

Smiling towards the angry person in front of him, Lan Yi thought he had already gotten hold of Shen Hang Zhi, and was quite happy, “I don’t care, since you are my wife. Where you go, I go.”

Having been tangled with this human sticky candy for half day yet unable to throw him off, Shen Hang Zhi could only let out a sigh.

[1] 春秋大梦- The origins of this phrase come from the warring period where other countries like to fight out wars during the spring and fall (ideal for war fighting as opposed to hot summers and freezing winters) to see who was the best. Even when Qin had the goal of destroying the six countries to unite as one, these countries still was having unrealistic dreams, with no clear goal other than to see who was the best in sight. Also, if you just remove the two words in between, you get what is a ‘wet dream’.

[2] 拉拉扯扯- can also mean to exchange flatteries
