August 28, 2007.
At the entrance of John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York.
A blonde woman, 1.7 meters tall.
She angrily asked someone, "Tiger, why are you going back to China? Our business is just starting to take off, and you're going to leave me like this?"
Her smooth, flawless skin and light makeup accentuated her beautiful features.
She wore an OL outfit that perfectly highlighted her figure.
It was clear she had rushed directly from the office to the airport.
Facing her was a Chinese man, who, covering his forehead, said helplessly, "Julia, going back to China doesn't mean I won't come back to the U.S. Don't make it sound like a final farewell, okay?"
This Chinese man was named Zhao Xu, standing 1.8 meters tall, dressed in casual clothes, and carrying a backpack.
Standing next to Julia, who was wearing high heels, he could only look her in the eye.
Zhao Xu was inwardly cursing Lin Yibin. What was this all about?
Didn't they agree that he would leave without telling her?
Why did this woman show up?
Zhao Xu had already been scolded by her for half an hour.
He glanced at the watch Julia had given him.
"Julia, it's almost time to board. Stay in the U.S. and take care of yourself. I'll come to see you when I have time."
Julia was Zhao Xu's business partner in the U.S. and also his ambiguous lover.
The two had profited from the early stages of the subprime crisis.
Julia was busy preparing her investment company.
However, she accidentally overheard Lin Yibin on the phone.
After a series of threats, she learned that Zhao Xu would be boarding a flight back to China in two hours.
Without hesitation, she drove her Lamborghini at 200 km/h straight to JFK Airport.
"Tiger, if you leave, don't come back!"
Julia, with a look of anger, turned and headed toward the airport parking lot.
Zhao Xu didn't take Julia's words to heart. He took out his phone and walked into the airport.
"Bro, why did Julia come to the airport to block me? I only told you I was going back to China!"
"Uh... Are you selling me out?"
"Of course not, I'll definitely come back. Hollywood's beauties couldn't keep me, how could Julia?"
"Right, Julia just scolded me for half an hour. Now I'm entering the airport to get my boarding pass."
"Okay... Okay... Let's meet up when I come to the U.S. again. Bye-bye..."
Zhao Xu put his phone back in his pocket, his handsome face wearing a friendly smile. He handed his passport to the young woman at the counter with a curvaceous figure.
"Hello, economy class, a ticket to Yanjing, China, for today."
"Here you go, sir. This is your ticket. Please proceed to Gate 2."
Zhao Xu turned and walked directly to the boarding gate.
On the plane.
He placed his backpack in the overhead compartment, lowered the tray table, and put his lightweight laptop on it.
He then immersed himself in typing on the keyboard, completely unaware that someone had sat down next to him.
Seeing the familiar book title displayed on the screen, Gao Yuanyuan looked at Zhao Xu.
The popular American book "The Hunger Games" was actually written by this Chinese man.
For someone with poor English, this was simply unbelievable.
Looking at the young man next to her, with his short, neat hair, handsome and dashing face, and the visible muscles through his open casual shirt, she thought he had the perfect physique of a model.
Especially the type of well-built man.
Gao Yuanyuan mentally scolded herself, patted her rosy cheeks, and took a deep breath.
The cabin speaker announced the reminder to fasten seat belts.
Zhao Xu came to his senses, closed his laptop, and fastened his seat belt.
Turning his head, he noticed a beautiful woman sitting next to him.
She had long, straight black hair, a well-proportioned chest, and was wearing a knee-length pencil skirt. Her legs were white and smooth, and she had on a pair of high-heeled sandals.
She wore large sunglasses that obscured her face, revealing only her fresh, moist lips.
Zhao Xu thought to himself, "Looks like this trip won't be lonely."
As the plane flew smoothly.
Zhao Xu nodded at the woman who was looking at him.
"Let me introduce myself, I'm Zhao Xu."
The woman shook his hand and asked excitedly, "Hello, I'm Gao Yuanyuan. I saw you writing a novel just now. Are you the author of 'The Hunger Games'?"
Zhao Xu looked at Gao Yuanyuan in surprise, not expecting to meet the clean-mouthed girl from the Chinese entertainment industry on the plane.
Seeing the young Gao Yuanyuan, who was not yet thirty, Zhao Xu felt a surge of enthusiasm.
"Ah... You're Gao Yuanyuan?"
Thinking Zhao Xu was a Chinese-American, Gao Yuanyuan looked at him curiously, took off her sunglasses, and asked, "What's wrong? Do you know me?"
"Of course, the clean-mouthed girl! I used to be..."
Zhao Xu almost blurted out that he had done some bad things in the past.
Although she didn't understand what Zhao Xu meant, thinking of the GG she had filmed and Zhao Xu's words, a blush appeared on her face.
"Hey, you haven't answered my question yet!" She shot him a glare, saying angrily.
"Yes, 'The Hunger Games' is indeed written by me. Have you read it?" He knew her English was poor.
"I haven't read it. My English is bad, so I can't understand it. I only heard about the book from others. You're really impressive. This book has been at the top of the North American bestseller list for a long time," Gao Yuanyuan said, initially a bit embarrassed but then suddenly excited.
Although Gao Yuanyuan's academic performance wasn't great, she particularly admired talented people.
She always had a strong liking for talented men.
"Not bad, I wrote it while brainstorming for a movie," Zhao Xu said with a helpless look.
"Brainstorming for a movie? Are you a screenwriter?"
"Have you ever seen a screenwriter as young as me? Am I only a screenwriter?"
"Uh... I haven't seen one. Are you a director?" Gao Yuanyuan looked at him suspiciously.
Zhao Xu smiled charmingly, looking at the curious Gao Yuanyuan, and reintroduced himself.
"Let me introduce myself again. I'm Zhao Xu, a graduate of the 2005 class of the USC School of Cinematic Arts, returning to China for development after graduation."
"Wow... You write novels and are a high achiever. So you're a talented man!"
Hearing this, Zhao Xu blushed, not because he was shy, but because he felt unworthy.
"Oh... I forgot to ask, how old are you? You look really young!"
"How old am I? I'm in my zodiac year," Zhao Xu hesitated before answering.
"Your zodiac year? So you're 24. I really can't tell!" Gao Yuanyuan smiled sweetly.
Zhao Xu had always had a handsome face, a mix of maturity and youth that made it hard for people to guess his age when he was in China.
"Yes, it's indeed hard to tell. Now it's a bit better, but in the past, people often thought I was younger in China."
Gao Yuanyuan nodded in agreement.
