Thomas and his brother escaped through the window. Almost everyone gathered on the second floor, looking at the broken glass, and everyone guessed what had happened.
"Everyone, go to sleep," Fat Li walked back from the window and said to everyone, "Albe, Michelle, Yan Zekun, Arthur, and Richard, you stay a bit longer."
In a moment, only the six of them remained on the second floor. Fat Li gestured for them to come to the window.
"I just went to the third floor and saw that the mop didn't break. They didn't break out of the room," Yan Zekun shared his discovery.
"I know how tightly the ropes were tied; they couldn't have untied themselves," Richard added.
"Good heavens! You mean they were let out by someone?" Michelle followed their reasoning and came to a startling conclusion.
"Lower your voice, this is just our speculation," Fat Li signaled Michelle to be quiet.
Arthur scratched his head and asked, puzzled, "Who would do that? The girls on the third floor?"
"Impossible," Albe and Michelle said in unison.
"They were all scared to death; how could they do such a thing? When I woke up, they were all around me. And I sleep very lightly; if someone got up, I would definitely wake up," Albe finished, and Michelle nodded in agreement.
After hearing Albe's answer, Arthur asked, "So, it was the boys?"
"Impossible, I sleep very lightly too. If it was the boys, I would have heard it," Yan Zekun also denied it.
With the precedent of the Thomas incident, Albe had driven the boys to rest near the entrance of the hall. The girls stayed in the sofa area, with a considerable distance between the two groups.
"Then could it be a ghost?" Arthur spread his hands in frustration.
Fat Li was silent for a moment and then said, "Alright, no matter who did it, let's put this matter to rest. Don't think about it anymore."
The others nodded, and Fat Li continued, "I was going to let them go tomorrow anyway. It seems someone was afraid I might change my mind, so they took the risk of letting them go."
Fat Li finished speaking and lit a Yuxi cigarette. Seeing Richard reach out, he threw the lighter and half a pack of Yuxi to him.
"This has been tormenting everyone enough. We know, and that's enough. No need to spread it around," Fat Li continued, seeing no objections. "As for the person who let the Thomas brothers go, they probably had no ill intentions. We still need to search for Siyao and the others tomorrow. Girls, keep an eye out, even if you don't find any clues, it's fine."
"Okay."
Seeing Albe and Michelle agree, Fat Li called for everyone to go to sleep.
"Go to rest, we have a long day tomorrow. Oh, Albe, stay a bit longer."
Except for Albe, the others went downstairs.
"Do you think it could be Belinda who let them go?" Fat Li shared his thoughts. With so many people around earlier, he couldn't say it.
"This... it's not impossible," Albe replied hesitantly.
"What? Didn't you say you would notice if the girls made any moves?" Fat Li raised an eyebrow, teasingly.
Albe sighed and replied, "I just said it's possible. After all, she's a kind girl."
"If it really was her, I'd be relieved. I'm more worried if it was someone else," Fat Li turned and looked at the half-moon in the sky.
"You just said to put this matter to rest. Don't think about it anymore," Albe walked up to Fat Li and patted his shoulder. "It's just a pity for little Thomas. A scumbag like Thomas dying outside is what he deserves, but what did little Thomas do to deserve such a fate along with his brother?"
Albe thought of the decent British boy and felt sorry for him. Last night, several boys drank a lot, and while others were passed out, he helped clean up the mess in the hall.
He also helped move the drunk people to the side. Thinking about this, Albe couldn't help but feel a bit sad.
With this, they parted ways.
Fat Li threw the cigarette butt out the window.
"Not being on the same path, we ultimately go our separate ways."

"Scared tonight?" Fang Qian asked Yuugami Yuki, who was sitting opposite him.
Fat Li and Albe had just said goodnight and gone to rest, and it was their turn to keep watch.
Yuugami Yuki smiled and nodded without speaking.
"Don't worry, Li is a good person. Something unexpected might have happened tonight," although Yuugami smiled sweetly, Fang Qian knew everyone was scared by what happened tonight.
"Um, I know he's a good person. He must have his reasons," Yuugami replied.
"Tomorrow, I want to go out with them. I wonder if they'll agree."
Fang Qian saw Yuugami looking at him in confusion. He pointed to his head and gave a thumbs-up, then pointed to his bicep and gave a little finger.
Yuugami immediately understood Fang Qian's meaning and laughed.
"You have a beautiful smile," Fang Qian said, a bit dazed.
Yuugami was taken aback by Fang Qian's direct compliment and blushed. Fang Qian laughed awkwardly, his face also turning red.
"Do you have a boyfriend?" Fang Qian mustered the courage to ask.
"No..."
Yuugami felt even more embarrassed and quickly changed the subject.
"As long as you ask sincerely, they will take you. But it's so dangerous outside. Are you really going to go?" Yuugami broke the awkward silence and brought the topic back.
"Yes, as a man, I can't always rely on others. I need to get stronger and live well!" Fang Qian answered firmly.
"I really envy you..." Yuugami buried her face in her knees, "When I realized the world was taken over by zombies, I was very scared. Even with Yae and Aya by my side, I was still very scared."
Fang Qian didn't interrupt Yuugami but listened quietly.
"Later, when I met Aihua and the others, I regretted it."
"Regretted what?"
"Regretted living..." Yuugami's voice became lower and lower.
"Why think like that? Isn't living better than dying?" Fang Qian couldn't understand Yuugami's perspective.
Just a moment ago, he was talking about getting stronger and living well. Yuugami, on the other hand, seemed to have a more fatalistic view of life and death.
