Chapter 90

5 min read1,130 words

A Vauxhall was speeding through the city. Richard and Albe were in the car, and the two girls in the back seat were pale, clearly still shaken by the zombie horde they had just encountered.

They had just escaped from the street where Wonderland was located.

It wasn't that Richard and Albe didn't want to save Ning Dongqing and the others; the situation had forced them to leave them behind.

By now, the Vauxhall had put some distance between itself and the zombie horde and was also moving away from the city center.

Albe was worried not only about Tony and Michelle, who were trapped in Wonderland, but also about Ning Dongqing and the others who hadn't gotten into the car. She had no idea what had happened to either group.

Of course, the eight people, including the fat Li, who had gone out, were even more of a concern for Albe. After all, how to regroup after being separated was a real challenge, and the first premise was that everyone had to survive.

As for Si Yao and Alex, Albe had been praying for them since the first night they went missing. She hoped they were both safe and that everyone could reunite again.

As they left the city, the zombies became less frequent, and they no longer had to be on edge.

"Norwich is unfamiliar to me. Where do you think we can go?" Richard asked the other three girls while taking out Li's lighter and a Yuxi cigarette.

"Well..." The three girls looked at each other, unable to come up with a suggestion.

Richard smoked the Yuxi and deliberately slowed down to look for a place to spend the night.

"Will those zombies disperse? Will they just stay in the city center?" Qiqi, sitting in the back, asked worriedly.

Lily was still with Li and the others, and the little girl Ning Dongqing was also left in the city center. She was very worried about them.

"Who knows?" Richard replied, glancing at Qiqi in the rearview mirror.

Belinda had been silent the whole time, looking out the window. The trauma from the previous night with Big Tom was too deep, and it would take some time to recover.

After turning a corner, Richard continued, "Instead of worrying about them, we should worry about ourselves. It's getting dark."

Thinking about the zombie world at night, the three girls lost their mood for sympathy.

"I remember there's a high-end community around here. I'm not sure of the exact location, but we should be able to find it if we follow this road," Belinda, who had been silent, finally spoke.

With a goal in mind, Richard sped up. Soon enough, a high-end community came into view.

"It looks like this is it," Richard said, parking the car at the entrance to the community.

There were no zombies outside the community, and it seemed quite safe. Richard and Albe got out of the car and walked to the entrance.

This was indeed a high-end community, with a sturdy and luxurious gate that was impressive.

"It looks like we can't get into this community without a key. That's a bit of a problem," Richard said, pushing the gate.

If he were alone, it wouldn't be a problem for him to climb over the wall, but with three girls, he couldn't just carry them one by one.

Actually, there was a button inside the community that could open the gate, but Richard didn't know about it.

Seeing no other way, the four of them started to discuss their options. Since the surroundings were relatively safe and they were tired from sitting in the car, they decided to stand outside.

"How far is UEA from here?" Richard asked.

Since they were now separated from Li, going to UEA University could be a good option.

Albe and Qiqi, being international students, were not very familiar with Norwich. They looked at Belinda, waiting for her answer.

"It's quite far. From the city center, it's basically in the opposite direction," Belinda replied.

It seemed that going to UEA wasn't a wise choice.

"Should we just find a house on the side of the road?"

Qiqi's suggestion was met with nods from everyone. It seemed to be the only option.

At that moment, a sports car suddenly roared up from a distance. If Li were there, he would recognize the red Lotus sports car.

This was the car that had triggered the zombie horde and had even tried to kill Li!

However, the car no longer had its alarm, which seemed to have been turned off by the driver.

Not knowing whether the person approaching was friend or foe, Richard and the others became alert. Richard held a fire axe, protecting the three girls behind him.

Most of the weapons, including machetes, had been taken by the people who went out, so it was fortunate that Richard had managed to keep the fire axe.

The sports car stopped not far from them, and a tall Asian man, over 1.8 meters, wearing sunglasses, got out of the car. His figure was very slim, but he didn't look weak.

"Hi!"

The man hesitated for a moment, then took off his sunglasses, greeted Richard and the others, and walked over to them.

As the handsome Asian man approached, he seemed to bring a warm breeze and petals, and the girls were momentarily stunned. They hadn't expected him to look even better without his sunglasses, and he seemed familiar.

"You look so familiar, you are..." Albe murmured, trying to remember where she had seen him.

"You're Qin Zhongyi!" Qiqi, standing next to Albe, said excitedly, "You're the Chinese racing driver for the Lotus team!"

"I'm not a formal racing driver yet, just a test driver," Qin Zhongyi said with a sunny smile, nodding at them.

"So handsome! Being a test driver doesn't matter. I believe you will definitely become the first official Chinese F1 driver!" Qiqi said, her face flushed with excitement, completely forgetting about Lily and Ning Dongqing.

Only then did she realize that there was no F1 in this world.

"Sorry, I got too excited," Qiqi blushed, "You're my fan. No, I'm your fan! I've watched every one of your races!"

Seeing her idol, Qiqi became a bit incoherent.

"Thank you for your support, but let's go inside and talk," Qin Zhongyi said, glancing at the zombies drawn by the car's engine, and smiled at the four of them.

He then scanned his face at the gate, and it slowly opened. Indeed, it was a high-end community with such advanced security.

Seeing the zombies getting closer, they didn't waste any more time. Qin Zhongyi led the way in the Lotus, and Richard and the others followed him into the community.
