Leord held his head in his hands, regretting that he had been acting like the scoundrel he used to be, despite having vowed to defy fate and survive.
However, he mustn't be disheartened. To break the death flag, he must use the memories of Shinjin and regain the power that Leord originally possessed, he resolved.
"Master Leord, we have arrived at Zeato."
"Hmm, I see."
The carriage stopped, and Gilbert reported to Leord that they had reached their destination, Zeato. Leord replied honestly, opened the carriage door, and gazed at Zeato.
(Whoa!!! The scene I used to see on the screen is right in front of me! How wonderful. This is a different kind of emotion from when I was with Shelia.)
Leord recalled the memories from when he played the eroge and was moved by the scene before him. According to Fate 48, Zeato is a fortress and a small town built near the border.
There is no particular specialty, and there is nothing to note except for the fortress. According to Shinjin's memories, there was nothing to see in Zeato except for the fortress. Leord, who had only passed through the town during events, was looking forward to seeing what the town looked like.
Leord was about to explore the town, but Gilbert stopped him.
"Master Leord, where do you intend to go?"
"I was thinking of exploring the town. Is there a problem?"
"We are heading to the mansion where we will be staying. The carriage stopped so that we could take a look at the town where we will be living."
"I see. Then, please show me the mansion."
Gilbert, still suspicious of Leord's unusually compliant behavior, led the way. Meanwhile, Leord was pondering how to interact with Gilbert and Shelia in the future.
The large mansion, located a short distance from the town, came into view. Leord got out of the carriage, looked up at the mansion, and his face turned pale.
(This is it!? The place where Leord met his end several times!)
Leord has died in all routes of Fate 48. Sometimes he becomes the final boss, but when he does, he faces Siegfried in a different location.
However, the mansion Leord was looking at was the place where he met his end in many routes. A parade of Leord's deaths, ranging from assassination, poisoning, to murder. Given that the scene of his death was right in front of him, it was no wonder Leord turned pale.
"Is something wrong, Master Leord?"
"N-no, nothing. Just show me the inside of the mansion quickly."
"Of course, this way."
Leord, led by Gilbert, entered the mansion, but his movements were stiff, knowing it might be the place where he would meet his end. Gilbert, noticing Leord's strange behavior, tilted his head but concluded that he was fine since he didn't run away.
Meanwhile, Shelia was trying hard not to laugh at Leord's odd behavior.
Leord, guided by Gilbert and Shelia, entered his room. Clothes and undergarments were already prepared, and everything was set up for immediate living. He lay on the luxurious bed, looked up at the ceiling, and began to plan his future.
(First, I'll start with a diet. Fortunately, I succeeded in dieting in my previous life.
Next, I'll study magic and train in martial arts. With Leord's memories, I shouldn't have much trouble with these two.
Well, Gilbert will probably help me if I ask.)
There is a lot to do, but from here on, it's unknown territory.
Even though I know I will die in the future, the path to that end is unclear.
Still, I have vowed to survive, so I will seek the cooperation of Gilbert and Shelia.
(But if I suddenly say I want to diet and ask for help, I might be suspected. However, if I want to review my diet, it would be more fitting to ask the maids and butlers, right!
If I'm suspected, I'll say it's because of the impact of being hit by Siegfried and push through!)
Now that the original work has been recreated, the sense of déjà vu is overwhelming, but to prevent the story from unfolding as it did, I must take action.
Leord rang the bell to call Gilbert.
Gilbert arrived in Leord's room before a second had passed after the bell rang.
"Did you call for me?"
(That's fast, man! You came in less than a second after the bell rang! The legendary assassin is too strong!)
"Yes. Gilbert, I want to lose weight. I need your help."
"…What did you just say?"
"Did you not hear me? I said I want to lose weight."
"Master…"
(Whaaat!? Why are you crying!? And calling me 'Master' like in the old days! Is there something to be moved about!?)
Leord couldn't understand, but Gilbert had been ordered to reform Leord. Gilbert had resolved that this would be his last great mission in life. However, Leord's personality had changed due to reincarnation. Gilbert's resolve was in vain, but he was still happy.
Gilbert, mistakenly believing that the Leord who was once called a prodigy had returned, couldn't hold back his tears of emotion.
"Will you… help me?"
"Of course. This Gilbert will dedicate his life to helping Master achieve the ideal body."
(Heavy! Too heavy, Gil! What happened in these few seconds! What happened to you, oh oh oh!)
"Alright. Then, I'll have you accompany me."
"Ha!"
Gilbert, taken aback by Leord's sudden change of heart, agreed to help without any doubt. Leord, slightly taken aback by Gilbert's enthusiasm, was still glad to have gained a strong ally.
