Once again, Leord set off for the capital, leading a group of envoys to the ancient ruins where the teleportation magic circle was located.
"Um, Lord Leord, wouldn't you like to use a carriage?"
"Yes. As you know, there is a teleportation magic circle. Moreover, it can take us to the capital in an instant. There's no reason not to use it."
"But, but isn't it dangerous?"
"Hehe, don't worry. I have already experienced the teleportation magic. Just be brave and follow me."
The envoy realized that it was futile to argue further with Leord and obediently followed. Along with Leord, Gilbert, Isabelle, and Barbarot, a group of knights and the envoys from the capital made their way to the ancient ruins. The plan was for the knights to return to Zeato with the carriages after reaching the ruins.
Leord and his group advanced into the ancient ruins without hesitation. Leord, Gilbert, Barbarot, and Isabelle moved steadily without showing any fear, but the envoys were completely terrified.
They knew that the ancient ruins were filled with terrifying traps and powerful monsters. Although they had heard that Leord and his group had investigated the ruins, it was not yet confirmed to be safe. Despite this, they were amazed by the four people's boldness. Were they reckless fools, or wise sages who knew all the traps? The envoys were unsure, but decided it was better to follow Leord rather than be left behind.
Finally, they reached the deepest part of the ruins where the teleportation magic circle was located. Along the way, they saw the remains of a mithril golem scattered about, confirming that Leord's report was not false. However, they still couldn't fully believe it. After all, they were about to experience the lost legendary magic, the teleportation magic.
"Is this the teleportation magic circle?"
"Yes, it is. This is the magic circle of the lost legendary magic, the teleportation magic. Come, I know it's hard to believe, but please step onto the magic circle."
"Y-Yes."
No matter how confidently Leord declared it was the teleportation magic circle, the envoy could not help but be skeptical and moved onto the circle hesitantly. After confirming that everyone was on the magic circle, Leord gave one last warning.
"Everyone, are you on the magic circle?
Let me warn you, if any part of your body is outside the circle, I don't know what will happen."
Shaken by Leord's ominous words, the envoys huddled together, almost touching each other, and positioned themselves within the circle. Leord, after confirming that everyone was on the circle, infused it with magic. The magic circle glowed, and Leord and his group were teleported in a blinding light.
"Th-This is...?"
The envoy, who had closed their eyes due to the blinding light, opened them and was surprised by the different room they found themselves in. However, they still didn't believe it. They suspected that the light was just a trick to change the appearance of the room.
Unaware of their doubts, Leord stepped off the magic circle and opened the door. Light streamed in, and the sight of the ancient ruins, which was different from the one they had just left, made everyone except Leord widen their eyes in shock.
"Th-This can't be..."
"Surprised? This is not the ancient ruins we were just in, but another ancient ruin near the capital. Have you been here before?"
"Yes... I was chosen as an envoy this time because I had previously participated in the investigation of the ancient ruins. Therefore, I can confidently say that this is definitely the ancient ruin near the capital..."
"Then, will you believe me?"
"There's nothing to believe... Seeing such a scene, anyone would be speechless. My apologies, Lord Leord, for doubting you. Please forgive me."
"It's fine. Most people wouldn't believe that the lost legendary teleportation magic exists. Your reaction is understandable. Therefore, I will not blame you at all."
"I am grateful for your magnanimity."
Leord and his group stepped out of the ancient ruins and gazed at the capital. Everyone except Leord alternated their gaze between the capital and the ancient ruins, still unable to believe that they had been teleported.
Leord found the situation amusing and laughed, but then remembered that he had to meet the king and tightened his face. Normally, it would take Leord several days to reach the capital. He was sure that the king would be surprised. He was also looking forward to seeing the king's reaction.
However, the thought of meeting the fourth princess again made Leord feel disheartened.
But he had just sworn to defy fate and show the world. If so, he couldn't let the fourth princess, Sylvia, manipulate him.
While he couldn't openly defy her due to his position, he was determined not to be used by her. He secretly decided to find a good doctor this time, as he still had some concerns.
