Chapter 2

4 min read926 words

When I slowly opened my eyes, a ceiling glowing bright red caught my gaze, and the intense brightness made my eyes hurt.

"Wha... It's so bright..."

After blinking a few times to adjust my eyes, I saw that the ceiling above my bed was adorned with roses made of red and green gemstones.

I had never seen such an extravagant and tasteless thing in my life, and I sat up.

"What? What is this outfit!?"

I had been sleeping in an unusually plush bed, wearing something that looked like a bright red camisole with a smooth texture.

The excessive exposure and flashy colors were so shocking that I hurriedly covered myself with the blanket.

"What... What is this place..."

When I raised my head, I saw a spacious and luxurious room that looked like it belonged to a foreign noble. The room was predominantly red and black, and roses were decorated throughout.

I was confused about why I was dressed like this and sleeping in such a tasteless room when—

"Miss, you’ve woken up!"

"—Huh? Ahh!?"

Only then did I notice a half-naked man standing in the corner of the room, and a scream-like sound escaped my lips.

He had a sword-like object hanging from his waist, which only increased my fear. I wished it was just a dream and that I would wake up soon.

The man, with hair as blue as the deep sea and gray eyes, was stunningly handsome. I quickly averted my eyes from his well-built body and covered my face with both hands.

"Wh-Who are you!?"

"Huh?"

"Where am I!? Why are you standing there half-naked...!?"

I asked in a near-shout, and the man let out a surprised and somewhat awkward voice.

The situation—me in a tasteless room, dressed almost like a seductress, and a half-naked man—was completely incomprehensible.

"Could it be that I lost my memory from the shock of being attacked...?"

"Attacked...?"

I didn't understand, but I asked him to put on some clothes, and he quickly put on the clothes that were folded nearby.

He looked like a knight, and I wondered if he was a dedicated cosplayer. As he approached and knelt in front of me, he asked:

"Miss Grace, do you recognize me?"

"No, not at all."

I shook my head, not understanding why he called me Miss Grace. The man looked surprised and opened his large, well-shaped eyes wide.

"Indeed, you have amnesia...? Um, my name is Evan, and I am your personal guard knight."

"Guard knight?"

"Yes. This is the Marquess Sentsberry’s mansion, and this is Miss Grace’s room. I was standing half-naked because you once said, 'Since you are only good for your looks and sword skills, stand half-naked to entertain me whenever you have free time.' I’ve been waiting since this morning in case you woke up."

"??????"

My head was full of question marks, but there was something that caught my attention.

"Grace Sentsberry...?"

I recognized that name. It was the same as the villainous character in the novel "The Knight of Destiny and the Holy Maiden" that I had read a while ago.

Right, Grace had long, light pink hair, just like mine...

"Huh? What...?"

Only then did I notice that my long, beautiful pink hair was flowing down my back.

Upon closer inspection, my body was much whiter, slimmer, and more well-figured than my own. Goosebumps ran down my spine as I realized it wasn't my body.

"Is there a mirror...?"

"Yes, this way."

I put on a nearby robe and moved to the full-length mirror that Evan pointed to, and I was speechless.

The reflection in the mirror was a breathtakingly beautiful woman—none other than the Grace Sentsberry from the novel.

"Why... My skin is so beautiful..."

I touched and pulled at my cheeks, but the beautiful woman in the mirror moved the same way. It hurt.

After a few minutes of this, I finally realized that I might have been reincarnated into a different world, becoming Grace Sentsberry.

"No way, right?"

Trying to remember, my last memory was being hit by a car that had mounted the sidewalk on my way back from a cheap supermarket in the neighboring town.

I must have died.

I took a deep breath and looked at the man, who was watching me with concern through the mirror.

I remembered that Grace had a guard knight named Evan, whom she always mistreated, even though there were no illustrations in the novel. He must be that person.

Despite feeling dizzy from shock and disbelief, I quickly stopped Evan, who was about to call a doctor.

I wanted to sort out the situation before meeting anyone new.

I asked if I could ask a few questions, and Evan smiled and said I could ask as many as I wanted. Despite being made to stand half-naked, he was too kind.

I had many questions, but first, I wanted to confirm if this world was the one from the novel.

"Um, do you know Zain Winslett?"

"Yes, of course. There is no one in the Seville Kingdom who does not know Lord Zain, the head of the leading ducal family."

At that moment, I was certain.

This was undoubtedly the world of the novel where Zain Winslett was the protagonist, and I had become Grace Sentsberry, a minor character worse than a supporting role—a woman who was promiscuous and greedy.

Good evening! I accidentally posted the prologue instead of the planned submission for tomorrow, so I've started the serialization.

Thank you very much for your support!
