Ability?

Like a bat? Emit a sound and navigate obstacles using echolocation?

"Are you sure you can catch them with your eyes closed?" Gu Jun asked again.

"If your office is relatively tidy, there should be no problem," Feng Yi replied.

Gu Jun thought about the state of his office and took out a tablet and a pen. With his background in drawing, he quickly sketched the general layout. He was so familiar with his office, where he spent most of his time every day.

While drawing, Gu Jun explained to Feng Yi.

"… It's arranged like this, and I'll tidy up the scattered items first."

"That should be fine," Feng Yi said.

"Alright, but we still need to sign an agreement. We need to clarify the compensation for any damage or bumps," Gu Jun said. He didn't know why Feng Yi was so confident about catching the mice with his eyes closed, but he wouldn't let Feng Yi go in without taking any risks. He needed to make it clear that boasting without evidence would result in higher compensation if anything was damaged.

Feng Yi had no objection to signing the agreement but gave Gu Jun two options:

Catch with eyes open: 10,000 yuan.

Catch with eyes closed: 15,000 yuan.

Gu Jun chose the second option without hesitation.

For someone who could afford a 300-square-meter house in a prime location in a high-end neighborhood, the 5,000 yuan difference was negligible. It was worth it for peace of mind.

Lu Yue also wanted to go into the office to observe. He was very curious, and the purpose of this visit was to assess Feng Yi's abilities. If Feng Yi could distinguish between real and fake snake skins at a glance, he might have other extraordinary abilities. He needed to confirm this before deciding how to approach Feng Yi for serious business.

"Sign a confidentiality agreement," Gu Jun said. Although they were acquaintances and had collaborated on business before, the necessary agreements still needed to be signed.

"Sure!" Lu Yue replied.

This time, there was no need for the complex 20-page confidentiality agreement. Gu Jun had someone prepare a simplified version.

"Let me tidy up first," Gu Jun said, returning to his office to organize.

The scattered sketches had already been tidied up before Feng Yi and the others arrived. Lu Yue's statement about Gu Jun considering a temporary move was true. He had a project to complete, but he was being disturbed here, so he planned to pack up the project-related materials and sketches and move them out.

The models were covered with cloth, which simplified the process, especially for the larger models, which were difficult to move and risked damage during transportation.

"Done," Gu Jun said, stepping out of the office and looking at Feng Yi.

Feng Yi put the long-handled tongs aside, put on gloves, and said, "Use your blindfold."

Gu Jun nodded. It had to be his own, or he wouldn't be at ease. Magicians often use props that seem fine but are actually fake.

The blindfold was a design sample from one of Gu Jun's past projects, sent by a manufacturer. The designer's blindfold was larger than sunglasses, almost like a mask, with two monster eyes and vertical pupils.

Gu Jun made sure it was completely opaque and handed it to Feng Yi, checking again after he put it on to ensure there was no cheating.

Satisfied, Gu Jun asked, "Do you need me to guide you?"

"No," Feng Yi said, precisely picking up the long-handled tongs. "Let's go."

Lu Yue held up two fingers in front of Feng Yi: "How many?"

Feng Yi smiled but didn't speak, carrying the tongs and following Gu Jun to the office door.

Gu Jun opened the door halfway, keeping his eyes on Feng Yi to prevent him from peeking at the sketches.

Feng Yi ignored him, letting him scrutinize.

After analyzing the odor molecules in the air, Feng Yi said, "Two."

Lu Yue raised an eyebrow and looked at Gu Jun.

Gu Jun was also astonished. He determined this before even entering?

Was it a guess?

"Indeed, two," Gu Jun said. "After the mice got in, I checked the windows and doors of my office. The air exchange system's vents have filters, so they can't get in, but it's hard to drive them out. There were originally three, but one was caught in a mousetrap."

Lu Yue laughed. "You must have left food inside again. How long has it been since the cockroach incident? You need to change your habits. If you move all the food, you can starve them out after a while."

"In that case, I would starve to death first," Gu Jun said, ignoring him and checking Feng Yi's blindfold again. "Go in."

Feng Yi walked in and said, "Who will take the mousetrap bag?"

"I will," Gu Jun said, taking out the two prepared mousetrap bags.

Gu Jun found a suitable angle from a distance to observe whether Feng Yi was cheating. It was easy to find a good angle in his own space.

As Feng Yi entered, Lu Yue started the timer on his phone.

Feng Yi walked inside, his steps not fast but clearly focused.

Gu Jun's office was large but cluttered with various items. Feng Yi walked through a narrow corridor lined with documents and various objects, and a tall coat rack with small decorations on it.

As Feng Yi passed, he bumped into the rack, which wobbled, and a small pendant fell.

Feng Yi caught it and put it back in place.

Gu Jun, who had been watching him closely, almost popped his eyes out, holding his breath and stretching his neck to see if Feng Yi removed the blindfold. Suddenly, Feng Yi leaned forward toward the coat rack.

"Squeak, squeak, squeak—"

A mouse was firmly caught in the tongs.

Feng Yi looked in Gu Jun's direction. "Bag."

"Ah? Oh! Coming!!"

Gu Jun hurried over, not even noticing the trash can he kicked over.

"Did you catch it that quickly?"

Looking at the mouse in the mousetrap bag, Gu Jun was about to say something when he saw Feng Yi walk to the other side of the office, open a cabinet door, and a brown mass darted out.

Tongs!

"Bag."

"…Coming!"

This time, Gu Jun reacted quickly, but his face was dazed and bewildered, as if questioning the world.

Lu Yue, who was following, was deep in thought.

Could this… really be a human radar?

Could he detect through the cabinet?

He didn't see the mouse clearly at the coat rack, only Feng Yi's leaning motion. But for the second one, he was fully focused, watching Feng Yi's tongs the whole time.

He watched the entire process from the moment Feng Yi opened the cabinet to catching the mouse, not blinking once. He saw everything except the exact moment the tongs closed.

But it felt… like the mouse ran into the tongs on its own.

Of course, he knew that wasn't the case.

Speed, prediction, and timing were all essential.

As Lu Yue analyzed what he had seen, he began to calculate the potential profits from this efficient mouse-catching method.

Feng Yi had already left the office, removed his gloves, and put the tongs back in the box.

"I caught both, but I suggest you thoroughly check items on the surface, such as fabrics, books, and especially cups, and take appropriate disinfection measures," he said to Gu Jun.

Gu Jun, still in a daze, looked at the mousetrap bag, but Lu Yue, who had snapped out of it, checked the timer on his phone.

59 seconds.
