The following is Li Changye's account.
"About a week ago, I had a strange dream.
Although, I didn't think it was a dream.
I was lying on my bed in the dormitory, half asleep and half awake, when I suddenly heard someone talking by my ear. From the voices, I could tell it was Yang Shucheng and Cao Jinhai.
I tried to open my eyes and sit up, but I couldn't open my eyes no matter what, let alone sit up.
I thought I might be experiencing sleep paralysis, so I opened my mouth to shout and get Yang Shucheng and Cao Jinhai's attention, but neither of them came over.
During this process, I heard my name.
Although I couldn't hear clearly what they were saying before, I heard my name then.
Obviously, they were talking about something related to me.
After that, I knew nothing. When I woke up, I realized that what had just happened was just a dream.
I told Cao Jinhai about the sleep paralysis and asked if they had said anything about me while I was sleeping. He shook his head and denied it, saying I was just confused from sleeping.
I didn't think much of it, nodded, and didn't think about it anymore.
I thought this dream would be like the others, quickly forgotten until I no longer remembered.
But the next evening, I experienced the same dream again.
I had sleep paralysis again.
In a daze, I heard the voices by my ear again. It was still Cao Jinhai and Yang Shucheng, and I still couldn't hear clearly what they were saying.
I experienced sleep paralysis twice in two days. Although I was aware that I was dreaming, I still felt a strong sense of unease.
I still wanted to open my eyes, sit up, and shout to get Cao Jinhai's attention.
But it was all in vain.
Cao Jinhai and Yang Shucheng's voices were intermittent, and the feeling of not being able to hear clearly was like two flies buzzing in your ear, making you very annoyed.
At that moment, they gave me that feeling until I heard my name clearly again.
They called my name again, and more than once.
Obviously, they were still talking about something related to me.
But this time, it was similar to the previous day. I lost consciousness soon after and woke up in the morning.
I told Cao Jinhai about the dream again, but he wasn't interested. He just reminded me not to think about useless things before going to bed, so I wouldn't have dreams.
Experiencing sleep paralysis for two consecutive days made me feel terrible, so I took a day off and didn't go to calculus class. I stayed in the dormitory to rest.
As a result, I dreamed the same thing again.
It was still that dazed feeling, being half asleep and half awake. But my consciousness was very clear. I knew I was having that dream again because I heard Cao Jinhai and Yang Shucheng's voices again.
But this was impossible because they should have been in class at that time, not in the dormitory.
At that moment, I didn't know the meaning of the dream, but I felt that they mentioned my name more frequently, and their voices seemed a bit clearer than the night before.
My inner fear suddenly intensified, so I kept hinting to myself to wake up, to wake up. Then I suddenly sat up in bed, completely breaking free from the dream, but the next moment, I was plunged into an abyss.
Because I saw Yang Shucheng and Cao Jinhai sitting opposite me. They stopped talking when they saw me sit up suddenly.
To be honest, at that moment, I really felt a chill down my spine. It wasn't because they suddenly appeared in my line of sight, but because I couldn't tell what was real and what was a dream.
When they saw my pale face, they asked me what was wrong. I didn't say anything, just asked why they didn't go to class. They said they found the class boring and had left early.
I felt they were hiding something from me.
For the next two days, I was still tormented by that dream. The dream was still filled with their discussions about me, and my name appeared more frequently. Their conversations about me became more vivid.
During this time, I felt my body had adapted somewhat to the sleep paralysis. I could barely open my eyes and see some blurry scenes.
Because of the influence of this dream, my mental state became worse and worse. I was extremely tired every day but didn't dare to sleep because I would dream that dream again.
Every time I woke up, I would see Cao Jinhai and Yang Shucheng looking at me strangely.
I suddenly felt they were very strange, suddenly felt very afraid of them, and suddenly felt they wanted to kill me.
In fact, this was confirmed the next day.
When I entered the dream again, this time I finally heard clearly what they were talking about, which made me shudder.
'I really can't wait to kill Li Changye.'
'Look at Li Changye's long, slender limbs. If we cut them off, it would be wonderful.'
'I want to see Li Changye's blood splatter.'
'Yes, we have to kill Li Changye.'
'Kill Li Changye.'
'Kill...'
I heard it, I finally heard what they were talking about. They kept saying my name, they wanted to kill me and dismember me.
I was scared awake soon after."
At this point, Li Changye's face showed a bitter smile as he said to Xia Tianqi, who was deep in thought:
"Dreaming that your roommates want to kill you and being unable to distinguish reality from nightmares would make anyone afraid."
Xia Tianqi didn't respond, gesturing for Li Changye to continue. At this moment, he also had a bad feeling.
"Although I suspected that what I was experiencing wasn't a dream but a real event, thinking about our friendship, I felt I was overthinking it.
Why would they want to harm me? How could they say such perverted things while I was asleep?
So, I didn't choose to run away. I wanted to confirm it, I didn't want to lose them because of my own issues.
So, I told Cao Jinhai about the dream again and expressed my concerns, telling him that someone wanted to harm me. But he still thought I was just being paranoid, so he brushed it off again.
But I just hoped I wouldn't hear their discussions in my dreams anymore."
"Why didn't you tell Shucheng?" Xia Tianqi looked at Li Changye in confusion.
"Because he was never in the dormitory, so I told Cao Jinhai."
Xia Tianqi nodded without saying anything, pondering Li Changye's words. Besides, Cao Jinhai had indeed mentioned this to him.
"Then what happened?"
Xia Tianqi decided to listen to Li Changye's 'nightmare' before making any decisions.
There are matches these two days, so there's only one chapter per day. I'll resume posting more chapters the day after tomorrow.
