Chapter 17 of 100

Chapter 17: Riger's Request

6 min read1,501 words

At this moment, Riger was still unaware that Loki had already gathered all the first-class adventurers of the clan.

He ran down the street, looking at the sky that had turned completely dark, and couldn't help but sigh.

"Now I'm completely late."

With Loki's prior instructions, Riger had originally planned to only explore the 7th floor and not go any deeper to avoid wasting too much time and returning to the clan too late.

However, after his strength had grown once again and his abilities had been updated, Riger visibly became stronger. Even on the 7th floor, he couldn't find any excitement, and in the end, he couldn't resist going down to the 8th floor.

This time, things got completely out of hand.

"How did I get so excited and completely forget the time again?"

Riger patted his forehead and couldn't help but sigh again.

He knew this was his bad habit.

In his current state of rebounding, he was extremely eager for excitement and change. Now, with the skill effect of "Endless," he had the highest level of development ability, making his physical and mental energy seem inexhaustible. If he accidentally got absorbed in something, it was natural for him to forget the time.

If Riger were not human and at least felt hungry, he might have continued fighting and never thought of turning back.

"I hope Loki doesn't wait too long."

Riger quickened his pace and hurried back to the clan.

With his current speed and almost endless stamina, he could travel very efficiently.

Therefore, it didn't take long for Riger to return to the clan's headquarters, the Dusk Manor.

"Hey! Riger!"

Just as Riger was about to rush into the mansion, a voice came from above, making him stop in his tracks.

Looking up, Riger saw Loki leaning out of a window on the top floor of the central tower, waving at him.

"You finally made it back, kid." Loki said with a scowl: "Hurry up and come up, everyone is waiting for you."

Riger nodded in understanding and went straight to his room, taking off his dirty clothes and armor, and placing his two weapons, one long and one short, by the bed. After tidying himself up, he quickly headed to the divine room.

"Come on in! Hurry up!"

Before Riger could knock, Loki, as if he had a sixth sense, pushed open the door and dragged Riger in.

Riger walked into the divine room and was instantly bathed in the gazes of everyone present.

Glancing around, Riger's eyebrows shot up.

Wow, all the first-class adventurers of the clan are here?

As Riger thought this, the people in the divine room also noticed him.

"Is it him?"

Ais, who had been sitting in the corner and silent, saw Riger and was slightly stunned.

Tiona also exclaimed in surprise.

"Aren't you the new guy Ais was secretly watching today?"

The amount of information in Tiona's words made everyone, including Riger, pause.

"Ais was secretly watching someone?"

Finn and Gries both looked surprised.

"So Loki was talking about him?"

Leviaria also sized Riger up.

"Indeed."

Tione, who was by Finn's side, was also somewhat surprised.

Only Bert, after being stunned for a moment, exploded.

"Stupid Amazon! What are you saying now?" Bert growled: "How could Ais secretly watch someone like you!?"

"You're the stupid one!" Tiona retorted, speaking her mind: "Why don't you ask Ais? She saw it with her own eyes!"

Everyone's attention immediately turned to Ais.

"I..."

Ais opened her mouth, looking like she wanted to explain but didn't know how, and blushed slightly, lowering her head.

It wasn't because of shyness, but because of embarrassment.

Why did Tiona use such a misleading way to say it?

No way I was secretly watching!

Ais didn't want to speak and dared not look at Riger's expression at that moment.

Riger also didn't look at Ais.

Although Tiona's words made him pause, Riger quickly composed himself and changed the subject.

"Sorry, I'm late."

Riger apologized to the senior members of the clan present.

"Tch."

Bert turned his head away, seemingly unwilling to say anything to Riger, but glared at Tiona, annoyed by her unpleasant words.

The others fell silent and looked at the clan leader.

Finn smiled warmly at Riger.

"Are you the new guy Loki mentioned?" Finn's attitude towards Riger was still friendly, even somewhat admiring: "To explore the dungeon until this time and only return now, it seems you're quite hardworking."

As the leader of the clan, Finn wouldn't blame someone for being a little late when they were so dedicated.

"Thank you for your understanding."

Riger didn't underestimate Finn because of his deceivingly young appearance.

After all, this small human, who looked like a minor, was not only a first-class adventurer of the 6th level but also a legendary figure regarded as the hope and hero of his race.

He single-handedly created the current achievements of the Loki Clan, leading it for decades from a small, newly established clan to one of the strongest clans in Orario. His personal adventures and epic stories were well-known throughout the world.

Therefore, whether it was the royal elves or the distinctive and independent members of the clan, they all sincerely respected this seemingly unimpressive small human.

Even Loki, the main god, was now just standing by, smiling and letting Finn take the lead, which showed the extent of his ability and authority.

Moreover, although he looked young, he was actually 42 years old, much older than Riger's previous life. For both emotional and rational reasons, Riger had no reason to underestimate him.

On the other hand, Finn was full of goodwill and curiosity towards Riger standing before him.

"Loki has been praising you non-stop, just now in front of us." Finn smiled: "To be praised by Loki like that, even in all of Orario, there's no one else. To be honest, I'm quite curious about you."

"Right, right!" Tiona couldn't hold back, raising her hand and eagerly shouting at Riger: "New guy, Loki really admires you. We've never seen her talk about a guy so much!"

"Well, there are plenty of girls." Tione added, with a sarcastic tone: "But Loki praises their looks and figures."

Everyone immediately nodded in agreement.

"..."

Loki's smile disappeared.

Can you even blame me for this?

You'll lose me if you keep this up!

"Deserved."

Bert shot a barb, almost breaking Loki's composure.

"Alright, stop fooling around." Gries clapped the table, stopping the deteriorating atmosphere, then looked at Riger: "I'm very curious. What makes this kid so special that Loki praises him so much?"

"I heard you joined the clan just two days ago and received the blessing at that time, right?" Leviaria interjected, addressing Riger: "Loki said you have something to ask us. Go ahead, as long as it's not too much, as fellow clan members, we'll try our best to help you."

Leviaria's attitude, like the others, was still friendly towards Riger.

Only the young werewolf, Bert, still stood there with a look of disdain, even showing some impatience, seemingly not very fond of Riger.

"Just a new guy who received the blessing a few days ago, I don't know why you're all so eager to please him."

This comment slightly changed the atmosphere.

"Bert."

Finn frowned and warned, making Bert huff and turn away.

"Ignore him."

"He just has a foul mouth."

The twin sisters, Tiona and Tione, came up to Riger, comforting him.

Ais also redirected her gaze to Riger, watching him.

Riger only glanced at Bert, showing no signs of annoyance, and calmly shook his head.

"Thanks for your concern, I'm fine, and I don't mind." Riger paused, then continued: "But I do have a favor to ask, and I hope the seniors can help me."

"What is it?" Finn chuckled.

He was quite clear in his mind.

After all, the reason Loki gathered everyone and introduced Riger was to help him with this so-called favor.

In other words, Loki was indirectly telling them to help Riger.

Thinking this, Finn exchanged glances with the other clan leaders, waiting for Riger to speak.

In this situation, Riger spoke up.

"I want to learn magic from everyone."

This statement made everyone blink.

"Learn magic?"

Leviaria, the strongest mage in Orario, became interested.

"Yes." Riger nodded, calmly addressing everyone: "I awakened a magic, but to use it, I need to meet certain conditions."

There was no need to specify what these conditions were.

In short, Riger needed someone to teach him to use his magic.

"What kind of magic is it?"

Tiona couldn't contain her curiosity and asked.

Finn, Leviaria, and Gries all looked directly at Loki.

Loki smiled and said meaningfully:

"His magic is a bit like Raphi's 'Elf Ring.'"

With just this sentence, everyone's eyebrows shot up, and their gazes towards Riger changed.
