After Wang Bo hung up the phone, he continued to carry Lu Lu for a while. Suddenly, he heard her weakly ask from behind, "Where am I... Brother... Is that you?"

She seemed to be more awake, but not fully recovered. Wang Bo carefully put her down and said, "Yeah, it's me. How are you feeling?"

Lu Lu held her forehead and slowly shook her head, then suddenly shook it hard and frowned, asking, "I feel a bit better. I was dazed just now, and I think I saw something, but my mind is a mess, and I can't remember anything. Brother, did you save me? What about those bad guys?"

"Don't worry about them," Wang Bo said, "At least you're safe now. Fortunately, they just knocked you out and didn't do anything else to you."

Lu Lu's heart tightened at his words, but when she felt her body, she realized her clothes were intact and there was no unusual sensation, which reassured her.

"Brother, how did you get here? How did you know I was kidnapped?" she asked again. Wang Bo recounted what his father had told him at home and then explained the family's plan. Unfortunately, he was a step too late, and she was accidentally taken by the bad guys. Fortunately, someone came to the rescue, and she was saved.

He told Lu Lu that among the kidnappers, one was actually a subordinate of Cha Si. He overpowered the others and handed her over to Wang Bo. Now, they needed to come up with a plan to buy time for this old seventh, to avoid the police investigating him.

After understanding the situation, Lu Lu thought for a moment and then said, "Do you have my phone?" "Yes, I have it with me." Earlier, Lu Lu's phone had been casually thrown on the sofa by the thief, and Wang Bo found it when he checked the scene before leaving.

"Now, I'll use my phone to call you and give you an address to pick me up," Lu Lu paused and continued, "We'll say the kidnappers received a tip that the police were onto them, so they didn't have time to take further action and had to release me and run."

She thought that since the police already suspected Chang Guobing, they would likely interrogate his subordinates, which could leak the information to Bing. So, Lu Lu used this to fabricate a story that the kidnappers, under pressure from the police, released her voluntarily.

Then, the two of them made a brief call, repeating the agreed-upon story, even mimicking the relief of a narrow escape. After that, Wang Bo and Lu Lu continued walking towards the city.

About ten minutes later, Wang Bo called Yu Jia to inform her that Lu Lu was safe and with him, and they were on their way back. They then hailed a taxi and returned to the school.

When they arrived at the school, they found a crowd gathered at the entrance, discussing the major incident that had occurred. A police car with flashing lights was parked inside the school gate.

As Wang Bo and Lu Lu approached the entrance, two people got out of the car. One was Lu Lu's good friend Yu Jia, who immediately rushed over and tightly hugged Lu Lu, crying, "Oh... I'm so glad you're safe, I was so scared..."

"Yeah, I'm fine, I'm fine," Lu Lu comforted her friend, "Thanks to you for calling the police in time, those bad guys didn't dare to do anything to me, and they just let me go." To make the lie more convincing, she credited Yu Jia, who must have been the one who called the police since she was in the police car.

The other person who got out of the car was the female police officer who had spoken to Wang Bo earlier. She was dressed in black police uniform, with a serious expression, and had been observing Wang Bo from the start. During the questioning, she continued to observe their expressions.

After the questioning was over, she drove back to the police station. Sitting in her office, she looked at the statements and fell into deep thought.

Although the kidnapped female student was rescued, she felt that something about the incident was suspicious. The situation was murky, and she couldn't quite figure it out. She had a vague feeling that the male student who accompanied the female student back was the key to the matter.

The case was not over, and the suspects were still at large. Only when Chang Guobing was caught and the information obtained from him matched the current situation would her doubts be completely dispelled.

She considered that since Chang Guobing had meticulously planned the kidnapping, he must have intended to take revenge on the two students. But why did he release the hostage and flee at the slightest pressure from the police?

Logically, he should have had time to lure Wang Bo over and beat him up to vent his anger. Moreover, kidnapping is a serious crime, so why didn't he go all the way and... do something to the girl? Running away without doing anything seemed inconsistent with the criminal psychology of these gang members.

She considered various possibilities: either the girl had already been violated but was pretending nothing happened; or Chang Guobing was involved in a bigger case and fled in panic to avoid being implicated; or... the girl was not released by the kidnappers but was saved by the boy!

But how could he have done it without a scratch? Given the ferocity of Chang Guobing and his subordinates, and the fact that they had a hostage, it would be very difficult to rescue someone with just a few basic martial arts skills.

She had already investigated Wang Bo and knew about his conflict with Chang Guobing. She couldn't believe that Wang Bo could rescue Lu Lu from three kidnappers without getting hurt, and if he had overpowered the kidnappers, he should have immediately taken the police to arrest them.

She thought for a moment and realized there were still things that didn't make sense. The last possibility was extremely unlikely unless... unless the three kidnappers were already dead! The female police officer's eyes flashed with a fierce look, and she felt a sudden clarity.

But... a student would find it even harder to do that... After killing someone, could he remain so calm? And the girl? Having witnessed a murder, could she be so calm? If the girl hadn't seen it, that could be explained, but the boy's calmness was too much.

The female police officer shook her head, dismissing this once promising theory, as she couldn't believe a student would remain completely calm after killing someone.

Earlier, they both appeared very relieved, with a bit of tension, but that was normal given their recent experience. Their sentences were coherent and their descriptions clear, as if... they had rehearsed it!

She felt a headache coming on, wondering if her suspicion was due to her recent focus on major cases and lack of experience with simpler ones. But she still felt something was off about these two students.

From the time Lu Lu was kidnapped to her rescue, it had been over an hour. Wang Bo accompanied her back to the classroom, where the students were still in evening study. The homeroom teacher, Xu Wushuang, was also there. She had rushed back to the school after receiving the news, very worried.

When Wang Bo met her, he noticed her eyes were still a bit swollen and felt a bit guilty. But since he had already spoken his mind, he didn't intend to retract his words and turned away.

Xu Wushuang, seeing his indifference, felt another pang of pain. She forced herself to comfort Lu Lu and reminded the students to be cautious and not go out with strangers. After that, she hurriedly left the classroom.

Wang Bo helped Lu Lu pack her bag. They had already discussed on the way that since they had told her family they would pick her up, even if Bing was now wanted by the police and no longer a threat, it was best to follow the plan and go home.

Yu Jia, seeing Lu Lu pack her things, asked curiously, "Are you going back to the dorm?"

"No, I'm going home. I'll go to the dorm to pack some things and then leave."

"Home? Isn't your home in Jin Qiao? Isn't it a bit late to go back now?" She was worried about Lu Lu going out alone at this time.

"Jin Qiao is where my uncle lives, and I've been staying there for a long time. Actually, I have an aunt in Guang Lin," Lu Lu explained, "I'll be staying with her. Don't worry, Wang Bo will take me there."

Yu Jia felt more at ease and reminded Wang Bo to take good care of her. She then saw them off at the stairs and returned to her evening study.

Lu Lu went to the dorm to pack some clothes and quickly came down to meet Wang Bo. The two of them walked together towards Shui Qiao Jing Yuan. After all that had happened today, both were preoccupied and didn't speak much.

They walked silently, unaware that someone was following them from a distance. It was their homeroom teacher, Xu Wushuang. She had been very upset after leaving the classroom and wanted to talk to Wang Bo again to see if he would still be so cold after sobering up.

She waited for Wang Bo at the bottom of the teaching building, but saw him go to the dorm with Lu Lu. She had to wait for him to come out alone. To her surprise, Lu Lu came out of the dorm with a bag of clothes and left the school with Wang Bo.

This shocked Xu Wushuang, and she began to speculate about their relationship. She followed them, fearing they might go to a hotel. But they didn't; they just kept walking.

As they walked, Xu Wushuang murmured to herself, "This road... Could they be going to Wang Bo's house? What is their relationship?"

When she followed them to Shui Qiao Jing Yuan and confirmed her guess, Xu Wushuang was at a loss. Should she follow them? What reason could she give? Was she going to catch them in the act?

She recalled that at the parent-teacher meeting, Wang Bo's father mentioned that he often traveled and his wife often worked late, so Wang Bo had to be self-disciplined. She wondered if Wang Bo's parents were not home tonight, and if he was taking Lu Lu back to stay overnight!
