After another class, it was lunchtime, and the students in the classroom scattered in a rush. Wang Bai followed the crowd to the cafeteria. Not far away, he saw Yu Jia and Lu Lu chatting as they walked, so he approached them.

"Yu Jia, I heard you did well on the midterm exam, congratulations!" Wang Bai tried to start a conversation with them, but the two girls gave him a strange look before Yu Jia smiled her usual bright smile and said, "You're the one who has improved the most in the class, I haven't congratulated you yet."

"Hehehe... Just luck, pure luck," Wang Bai scratched his head modestly. "By the way, have you decided on your elective subjects yet?" After the grades were released, most of the students in the class had already decided on their electives. Jin Xiaoli and Liu Yan had decided to go to the liberal arts class, and Wang Bai's desk mate Qian Ning was also going to the liberal arts class, though no one knew why.

Yu Jia looked at him, then at Lu Lu, thinking that Wang Bai was trying to find out which subject Lu Lu had chosen. It seemed he really liked Lu Lu. "Sixth Brother, I'm sorry, but I can't help but want to sell you out, hehe..." With a mindset of watching the show, she said, "I'm planning to take chemistry because I want to apply to a medical university. Lu Lu seems to have decided on chemistry too, right?"

Lu Lu glanced at her friend, thinking why she had to drag her into this. However, since it couldn't be hidden forever, she nodded calmly, "Yeah, I'm planning to go to the chemistry class."

"Oh, the physics teacher will be smoking in the corner again..." Every time he had something to worry about, the physics teacher would go to the corner of the stairs to smoke. Yu Jia muttered sympathetically, but Wang Bai didn't seem to care about this information. He had come to chat, not to pry, so he said casually, "Oh, you're both going to the chemistry class? That's a coincidence, I was also planning to go to the chemistry class."

Yu Jia thought to herself: What preliminary plan? You only decided after hearing that Lu Lu was going to the chemistry class, right? Your chemistry grades are so bad, how could you plan to go there? Don't pretend with me.

Wang Bai's grades had improved dramatically, making him a competitor to a few top students. Therefore, his grades in each subject were known to a few people.

She decided to pour some cold water on him: "The physics class has already been fixed in certain classes, and students from nearby classes will be added. The chemistry class, however, is formed by randomly selecting students. We might not end up in the same class."

"Look at what you're saying. Even if we're not in the same class in the future, we're still in the same class now. Classmates are classmates, and our friendship won't change because of this small matter," Wang Bai said casually. "Yu Jia helped me a lot, and I remember it. If you need anything in the future, just let me know, and I'll do my best to help!"

Yu Jia saw him trying to show his loyalty and thought, "You're flattering the wrong person, aren't you?" She heard Lu Lu pull her and say, "Ignore him, let's go queue up." Yu Jia looked at the pitiful Wang Bai and thought, "I heard you and Lu Lu have been close lately, and with the kidnapping incident, haven't you two already become close through shared hardships? How long are you going to dawdle? Even I, the bystander, am getting impatient."

Wang Bai hadn't even managed to talk to Lu Lu and had already hit a wall, but his recent hardships had made him more resilient. He wasn't discouraged and, after getting his lunch, found Yu Jia and Lu Lu's usual spot, sat across from them as he did last time, and smiled at them, "The cafeteria's food is good today... Hey? You only got a little food, is it enough? Should I get you more?"

Lu Lu said coolly, "Just say what you want to say, don't beat around the bush." She ate slowly, seemingly indifferent to what Wang Bai was going to say, but inside she was nervous, wondering if he would mention last night's incident in front of Yu Jia.

Yu Jia looked at both of them and said, "Should I step out...?" Wang Bai waved his hand, meaning it wasn't necessary, then put on a serious face and said, "Lu Lu, can you consider joining the volunteer service team?"

"Huh?" Both girls stopped their spoons, not expecting Wang Bai to ask such a question after all his fuss. Lu Lu almost didn't think before saying, "No need to consider, I won't join, I don't have the time."

Yu Jia added, "Wang Bai, if you want to join the service team and torture yourself, there's no need to drag Lu Lu into it, right?" She thought, "If you want to go on a date with her, just confess and start a relationship. That way, you'll be happy and I, the audience, will be satisfied. Why do all this nonsense? Participating in volunteer activities won't make you and her get closer!"

Lu Lu's response was as expected by Wang Bai. He changed his approach and said, "It's like this... To be honest, the idea to invite you to join the volunteer service team wasn't mine, it was Mr. Xu's. He asked me to find some students with good grades who can use their free time to join the volunteer service team. This morning, I asked Liu Yan and Jin Xiaoli, and they agreed to join..."

He lied for two reasons: one, to use the teacher's name to put some pressure on Lu Lu, and two, to mention that Liu Yan and Jin Xiaoli had joined to stimulate her. Because of the drinking incident, he felt that Lu Lu and Jin Xiaoli didn't get along well, so he mentioned it regardless of whether it would work.

Lu Lu ate calmly but thought, "What does he mean by this? Introducing me and Jin Xiaoli to the volunteer service team, is he trying to ease the tension between us? Has he already made a choice among them and is preparing for the future to prevent me from interfering?"

Wang Bai's close relationship with Jin Xiaoli and others was obvious to her. As a woman, she had already seen them as potential rivals and would not back down in matters concerning Wang Bai.

Lu Lu was worried that Wang Bai seemed to always treat her like a younger sister, and all these arrangements were to improve the relationship between her, the future "little aunt," and his female companions.

Fine, if that's your plan, I'll "get along well" with them. Lu Lu made up her mind, glanced at Wang Bai, and said, "Since it's Mr. Xu's arrangement, I'll join."

"Really? Lu Lu?" Yu Jia nudged her, "I'm not sure if what Wang Bai said is true. I don't believe Mr. Xu would ask him to do this; it goes against the school's policy."

Lu Luo, of course, suspected that the teacher hadn't mentioned anything to Wang Bai about recruiting for the service team, but she just needed to confirm that Jin Xiaoli and Liu Yan would join. She also believed that Wang Bai wouldn't lie to her about this, and given his relationship with Jin Xiaoli, it was very likely that he could convince them to join the volunteer service team.

"Great!" Wang Bai was overjoyed, and his appetite increased. He ate while mumbling, "I'll go to Mr. Xu's office to get the forms and give them to you at lunch."

During the lunch break, he returned to the teacher's office and got three application forms, which he then gave to Lu Lu and the others. After they filled them out, he quickly collected them and handed them to Mr. Xu, fearing they might change their minds.

"Did you really not force them?" Xu Wushuang took the forms, glanced at them, and asked suspiciously.

"Really, they are very kind-hearted," Wang Bai said firmly. "Teacher, give them a chance to serve society."

Xu Wushuang put the forms on the table with a half-smile and asked, "Are you going to ask me for the activity registration form next?"

Wang Bai thought, "I haven't taken on the volunteer tasks yet, and there's no reward for completing them early. So, I said, 'I haven't thought through the details of the self-organized activities yet. This time, I might organize an activity with a large number of participants. I'll come back to discuss it with you once I have a plan. Thank you, Mr. Xu, I'll leave now.'"

Xu Wushuang watched him leave the office, feeling a faint sadness. She smiled to herself and put the forms in the folder. At that moment, her phone vibrated. She looked at the caller and was slightly surprised, then smiled with joy.

"Hey, why did you suddenly think of contacting me?" Xu Wushuang's voice was slightly coquettish, quite different from her usual serious tone, which made the other teachers in the office look at her.

"Hehe..." A young woman's laugh came from the other end of the phone, "You're still the same, that's a relief. I heard about your situation..."

"Don't mention that bastard to me," Xu Wushuang's voice turned cold, then returned to the coquettish tone, "Come on, what do you want? You never call me for no reason since I got married."

"Don't make me sound so heartless," the woman on the other end laughed lightly, then changed to a serious tone, "I'm just letting you know in advance, I'm transferring to Guanglin Middle School next semester, and we'll be colleagues."

Xu Wushuang's face lit up with surprise, "Really?! That's great, finally someone to eat, drink, and play with me!"

"Hehehe..." The young woman on the phone laughed and asked, "Have you not made any other friends since graduation? You're a strange woman, so loyal to men and even to friends."

"As long as you understand my feelings," Xu Wushuang pouted, "You have a conscience, telling me first. By the way, when are you moving? Let's live together!"

"I was thinking the same thing..."
