Chapter 39

Through autonomous mutation and bodily transformation, integrating technology with martial arts, using internal energy to control fundamental physical forces, and pursuing a martial arts path aimed at evolving into a cosmic being, this can be called a miraculous cultivation method of super-technological martial arts.

Of course, this is still just an idea. Compared to artificial organs, genetic power is undoubtedly more suitable for the evolution of life. Chen Ang has no intention of becoming a cosmic being. His pursuit is merely driven by the curiosity of a researcher, as this comprehensive experiment involving alien biology, interstellar medicine, and technology piques his interest.

After all, this world is vast, and it's unlikely to cause any irreparable chaos. Even if technological martial arts become rampant, the Jedi will clean up the mess. When the Force reaches its peak, all the scum will be swept away by the Jedi Knights, making it a rather suitable testing ground.

Chen Ang looked at the array of instruments before him, his heart as a researcher stirring with excitement. Combining learning with practice is the best way to understand the world, he consoled himself.

When Anakin came to the captain's cabin to bid farewell to his master, he was horrified to find a strange sand lizard crawling in a petri dish. This small reptile, which lives in the dunes, has a magical ability to flatten its body into a thin sheet to maximize the capture of solar radiation.

This little creature, which can survive without food, is the most common in the desert. Whenever food is abundant, they multiply everywhere, even causing disasters. Fortunately, Tatooine has never had a day of abundant food. Therefore, while they are notorious invasive species on other planets, on Tatooine, they are so unremarkable that they are almost unnoticed.

However, the sand lizard in the petri dish was already completely different from what Anakin had seen before. This gray, ten-centimeter-long creature was now a blood-red, meter-long monster.

The sand lizard let out a roar, its tail suddenly swelling, and its body shrinking rapidly. Its tail, now like a vertical hammer, struck the petri dish, causing visible cracks in the interstellar-grade transparent material.

The sand lizard's body continued to shrink, its eyes turning even redder. A fine, almost invisible thread shot from its back, hitting the crack and shattering the petri dish. The sand lizard's body bulged, and it shot out, transforming into a swift shadow, charging towards Chen Ang.

Anakin quickly grabbed an alloy cup and threw it at the sand lizard. It hit the creature like a rubber ball, not only failing to harm it but also increasing its speed by a third.

Just as the lightning-fast, blood-red sand lizard pounced on Chen Ang, he pointed at it, and it collapsed like a deflated balloon, falling to the ground, a large amount of water seeping from its body, spreading on the floor.

The giant sand lizard slowly shrank back to its original size, its skin turning gray again. It lay exhausted on the ground, allowing Chen Ang to place it in another biological container.

Anakin, seeing the container that was less strong than the petri dish, opened his mouth to say something but was interrupted by Chen Ang.

"Don't worry, that lizard can't do anything without water," Chen Ang reassured him with a smile. Just now, Chen Ang conducted an experiment on this common desert creature. He did not transplant organs from other creatures but utilized the sand lizard's unique flexibility.

In the biological laboratory on the spaceship, there was complete modification equipment. Chen Ang easily implanted a more flexible organic filament under the sand lizard's skin, weaving a biological protective net within the skin layer using a quantum scalpel, and transferring its vital organs to the middle of the two layers of the protective net.

The results were very optimistic. The sand lizard's magical ability was enhanced by dozens of times. With the protection of the net, few kinetic weapons could harm it, except for energy weapons.

Chen Ang also used an overclocking agent to unlock the lizard's brain potential. This time, Chen Ang consciously interfered with the brain enhancement process, mainly enhancing the cerebellum's motor function and improving the sand lizard's control over its body, allowing it to autonomously utilize its abilities.

A biological auxiliary brain was fused into the sand lizard's brain. Using the auxiliary brain programming technology of the interstellar era, Chen Ang easily controlled the sand lizard's brain. He did not alter the lizard's thought processes but added some 'techniques' to its subconscious. With a conscious thought, the brain could replicate this complex movement.

Some fluid dynamics algorithms were also replicated, including a program that, when the sand lizard is struck, uses the fluid within its body to form a conductive structure, transferring the force to other parts of the fluid.

Another program used the pressure-bearing properties of the fluid to amplify and store energy, like placing dozens of hydraulic jacks inside the sand lizard, allowing it to exert dozens of times more force with every movement.

In fact, the potential of fluid dynamics programs can be further developed, including turbine effects, hydraulic blades, and even pure water tension, which can be applied to the sand lizard to achieve miraculous effects. This can be considered a form of biological modification, but it is still far from the level of technological martial arts that Chen Ang desires.

If applied to the human body, it might be similar to mechanical prosthetics, with little practical value. In the martial arts world, the ability to be impervious to blades and exert great strength with every movement is terrifying, but in the interstellar era, it is merely a redundant skill.

If not for the exploration of life's potential, martial arts would have been long obsolete in terms of destructive power. However, its exploration of the human body gives it a unique value to Chen Ang.

Pure destructive power, like iron armor, is worthless. Technology is a vast system rooted in a world, formed by a vast production system. Each technological system is a deeply rooted tree, with its branches extending into all aspects.

Chen Ang, in this world, exists within the production system, learning only a fraction of the interstellar civilization. With the support of productivity, he can achieve many super-technologies, but without this system, Chen Ang cannot even hammer out an anti-gravity engine.

On Earth, even with the support of all humanity, Chen Ang cannot produce the simplest spaceship. Each world traversal, with limited carrying capacity, allows Chen Ang to retain only his body, wisdom, and knowledge. Any other gains can only be watched helplessly.

Technology is meaningless to Chen Ang because it must be combined with specific industries to be powerful. Only science has universal significance, as it is the wisdom of intelligent beings in understanding the world, a wisdom worthy of praise.

Anakin suppressed his curiosity and obediently followed Chen Ang to Watto's general store. "Anakin, you've run away again! I told you, no matter what reason you have, I will punish you severely this time!"

Watto struggled to fly three feet high, darting in front of Anakin, angrily scolding him. But he soon noticed Chen Ang behind him, hesitated for a moment, and then left Anakin, wobbling over to Chen Ang.

"So, you're the famous mechanic of these few days!" Watto sneered sarcastically. Most of the parts Chen Ang replaced were purchased from him, which was why Watto never stopped Anakin. However, for Chen Ang, who ruthlessly pressed down prices and used the competition among his peers to snatch away profits, Watto had no good face.

Of course, when it came to exclusive business, Watto was no pushover. He could snatch away 80% of the profits from that deal, but Chen Ang's control over the supply chain made Watto the one who always lost out.

Because their business philosophies were similar, they seemed to be at odds.

Watto wobbled over to the counter, about to take out the latest order list, but suddenly noticed the barely contained joy on Anakin's face. He asked suspiciously, "Anakin, what's up?"

"Watto, I want to buy my freedom!" Anakin stood confidently in front of him, answering.

Watto's face immediately fell. He suppressed his anger and said in a deep voice, "I said you can buy your freedom, but you have to work for me for ten years unpaid and pay ten times the price of you and your mother before I will grant you freedom."

"Ten years is too long! I can't let my disciple waste so much time!" Chen Ang said calmly, taking out a piece of black metal and placing it on the counter.

"Ore, such a large piece!" Watto greedily reached out to pick up the metal, but was beaten to it by a hand from the side.

Seeing his wealth snatched away, Watto's eyes turned red with anger.

"You dare to compete with me! Slave!" Watto spat, his face close to Anakin's, shouting at him.

"It's not yours yet!" Anakin replied in a deep voice, calmly looking at the agitated Watto.

Watto then realized that Anakin was no longer a piece of property he could dispose of at will. He flew to Chen Ang with a dark face, "This is far from enough! He is a good mechanic and can earn me a lot of money in ten years. This is not enough!"

Chen Ang, who now had a large spaceship to maintain and a bottomless wallet, could not satisfy Watto's demands, "I have no more. This is the most I can offer!"

"Then there's no deal. If you dare to take my slave, I'll send their identity papers to Jabba. That scoundrel will be interested, and you should know that Jabba is always brutal. Few of his slaves survive more than a year. Even if Anakin survives, his mother will surely be tortured." Watto threatened angrily.

Hearing this, Anakin's face showed signs of tension, but he trusted Chen Ang, despite tightly gripping the edge of his clothes and gritting his teeth in silence.

"I will compensate you in other ways," Chen Ang said calmly.

Watto sneered, "What can you offer me?"

Chen Ang looked at Watto's twisted, broken leg hanging in the air, "A leg and endless money. Do you know how much Sebulba earns in each podrace?"

Watto's eyes immediately lit up, "An incalculable amount!"

"He always wins, and everyone bets on him. If he loses, how much could you earn?"

"An incalculable amount!" Watto's voice changed with excitement, leading Chen Ang to a hidden backyard, where an energy shield enveloped the small area.

"Are you going to do it yourself? If you are willing to build the best pod in the world, I can definitely find someone to drive it. Once we win, that boy and his mother will be yours!"

"Of course, no one else, you can win yourself!" Chen Ang said firmly.

"I need to see proof!" Watto's pupils dilated several times, breathing heavily, still questioning.

"You will see. The podrace is in three months, and you have enough time to verify this." Chen Ang smiled calmly.

Watto's face turned red and purple, his excited wings beating faster, and he rarely flew to a height of four feet, circling quickly and coming to Chen Ang, extending his hand, "So..."

Chen Ang smiled and also extended his hand.

A crisp slap echoed, and both said in unison, "Pleasure to work with you!"
