Chapter 18: Electrified

Melin and the others stared blankly at Zhao Hai, not knowing what he was doing with his gestures, wondering if he had no way to improve the land at all.

Melin's heart sank. She had noticed that Zhao Hai had changed a lot recently, but for the better. So she hadn't thought much about it, assuming that Zhao Hai had matured after the great changes. However, seeing Zhao Hai's current state, she couldn't help but worry, fearing that the immense pressure had driven him mad.

It wasn't until the ten acres were completely improved that the opening next to Zhao Hai slowly disappeared. Zhao Hai walked to the edge of the improved land, picked up a handful of soil, and examined it carefully. The soil had indeed turned into fertile black soil, just as he had imagined.

Just then, Megg suddenly ran to Zhao Hai's side and hugged him. This stunned Zhao Hai; he hadn't expected Megg to hug him.

Zhao Hai knew about the past between Adam and Megg, but he didn't know Megg's feelings for Adam. From Adam's memories, Megg was just an object of desire. Adam had been a complete scoundrel, never caring for Megg. His childhood memories were blurred, and in his adult memories, there was only desire, not love.
