Chapter 84: Strange Actions

In the middle of the night, a notification sounded in the space, informing Zhao Hai that the radishes had matured and could be harvested. However, Zhao Hai ignored it and slept until dawn before entering the space.

He wanted to see if the radishes could produce seeds. When he entered the space the next morning, he found that the radishes had indeed produced seeds, so he didn't need to worry about it anymore.

Unfortunately, when Zhao Hai entered the space the next morning, the radishes were still radishes and had not produced seeds; they remained in their mature state, which disappointed Zhao Hai.

Zhao Hai couldn't help but mutter, "It seems they can't produce seeds, what a pity."

As soon as he finished speaking, a notification from the space came: "Non-edible seed crops can only produce seeds after level 10, according to the host's requirements. Please be patient."

Zhao Hai was taken aback, then delighted. He had thought that crops like radishes couldn't produce seeds at all, but now he learned that as long as he reached level 10, he could produce seeds according to his needs. This was great news.

This made Zhao Hai even more certain that level 10 was a significant milestone. Once he passed this level, he could do more things.

With a much better mood, Zhao Hai harvested the radishes, planted four more acres, and then planted another season of oil trees and corn before leaving the space.

Yesterday, Green had been resting in the estate, but today he didn't want to rest. After breakfast, he went out with the alien, just as Zhao Hai had said. The alien had become very intelligent, able to execute Zhao Hai's commands, though it still couldn't communicate telepathically with him.

Zhao Hai wasn't very worried. When he gave the alien orders, he told it not to go too far. If Green wanted to go far, the alien would stop him. They could only go as far as four hours away from the estate before they had to return.

Although Green wasn't afraid of anything, he appreciated Zhao Hai's concern and didn't object. After all, the plants in the forest weren't necessarily what they needed, so he didn't care much about it.

In fact, there were many high-level plants in the forest, but not in the area around Zhao Hai's estate. The area was too close to Casa City, and the forests had been extensively developed. Even the undeveloped areas had been combed through by low-level mercenaries. The high-level magical plants that could fetch a good price had long been taken away and wouldn't be left until now.

Therefore, Zhao Hai didn't have high hopes for Green's expedition. They could only hope for the best and wait for the laborers to return, then trade with them. Once they had money, they could buy some useful magical plants from the mercenaries. For now, they couldn't do anything.

As soon as Green left the乱石山 (Rocks and Stones Mountain), the people monitoring them immediately noticed. Green was inside the alien, so they only saw the alien leave the mountain and didn't know how many people were inside it.

However, Green's actions this time invigorated the spirits of the monitors. Everyone became alert and closely watched the alien.

To their surprise, the alien didn't take the main road but went directly into the mountains, which scared the monitors.

They thought Zhao Hai was a black mage, known for his eccentric behavior. They assumed Zhao Hai had discovered them and was coming to deal with them, so many of them ran away.

Those who ran were mercenaries hired by small families. Unlike the trained assassins of large families, these mercenaries were just doing a job for money. Once they sensed danger, they would immediately run away. The assassins of large families, on the other hand, prioritized completing their mission, even at the cost of their lives.

Green had known that someone was monitoring them, so he was cautious when he left the mountain. Sure enough, he noticed several people.

However, Green didn't take any action against them. If they wanted to monitor, let them. They could see what he wanted them to see, but they couldn't see what he didn't want them to see. So Green wasn't worried at all.

Under the watchful eyes of the monitors, Green and the alien entered the forest on the mountain. Once inside, Green got off the alien and looked around the forest.

It was clear that the forest had been disturbed. Although the trees were still there, the traces of human activity were too obvious. Some areas had been trampled into small paths, and Green could see that many places had been dug up, indicating that the useful things had been taken away.

Green shook his head and continued deeper into the forest, carefully observing the plants around him. As Zhao Hai had predicted, some well-known plants on the continent were nowhere to be found in this forest.

Although Green was a warrior, not an alchemist or a potion master, Merlin was a mage. Even a mage, no matter how ignorant, knew the uses of some magical plants. Merlin knew this and could even make two types of magical potions.

Because of this, Green recognized some magical plants, but he didn't see any of the ones he knew in this forest.

Green couldn't help but sigh and continued deeper into the forest. Suddenly, he saw two wild fruit trees. These trees were common on the continent, with a good taste, but low yield, so no one had ever planted them on a large scale. They weren't magical plants, so the nobles wouldn't eat them, and the common people used their land to grow food, not these trees. If they wanted to eat them, they could just go to the mountains to pick some, so these plants remained wild, with almost no one planting them.

Earlier, Green had seen two of these red-faced fruit trees, but they were too inconspicuous, so he hadn't noticed them. Now, they blocked his path, and he finally noticed them.

After looking at the two trees, Green thought for a moment and took out his greatsword, cutting two branches from the trees and putting them into the alien's internal space.

The reason Green did this was that the red-faced fruit tree was a very hardy species. As long as you planted a branch in moist soil, it would sprout and grow. So Green only cut two branches, as he wasn't sure if they would be useful. It was like treating a dead horse as if it were alive.

After collecting the red-faced fruit, Green couldn't stop. He collected anything that caught his eye, digging up everything he could and putting it into the alien's internal space. For those he couldn't dig up, he took a branch to see if it could be planted.

It was already spring, and neither the fruits on the trees nor the seeds in the ground were visible. Only the new sprouts and young seedlings could be seen.

The monitors were completely baffled. They couldn't understand why Green was digging up things that were everywhere on the mountain. Could these things be treasures?

They remembered Green's strange actions and planned to report the situation to their families. They also intended to collect some of the plants Green had collected to study them and see if they had any significant uses.

By now, Green couldn't remember how many types of plants he had collected. As long as they weren't the most common, he collected them, even some peculiar wild grasses.

However, if he tried to sell these things outside, he probably wouldn't get a single copper coin. No one would buy such common things. If they wanted them, they could just go to the mountains to pick them, so no one would waste money on them.

After more than three hours, Green had gone deep into the mountains, and the alien's internal space was full. He stopped, returned to the alien, and headed back.

As soon as Green left, the monitors immediately started collecting the plants he had gathered and prepared to report to their families.

Actually, what Green did today wasn't too out of the ordinary. Many people came to the mountains to collect various plants. However, what made Green's actions strange was that he collected things that were worthless and wouldn't be bought by anyone. Such actions were highly suspicious.

Green didn't care about their reactions. In his view, their reactions had nothing to do with him. He hadn't done anything that needed to be hidden, so he had nothing to fear.

For Green and the others, there was nothing that needed to be hidden. The only thing that needed to be kept secret was their identity. As long as their identity wasn't exposed, they had nothing to fear.

When Green returned to the乱石山 (Rocks and Stones Mountain) in the afternoon, it was already past lunchtime. Merlin immediately went to prepare food for him, while Zhao Hai collected all the plants from the alien's internal space, regardless of their quality, and put them into his space.

As soon as Zhao Hai put the plants into the space, a notification from the space immediately came...
