Chapter 98

The mutated spider body!

The grotesque tentacle pulled Zhao Futu back over ten meters. When he landed, he was already standing on the mutated spider body. The lower half of the mutated spider body consisted of eight segmented legs, with the center being a twisted human-like flesh mass. Muscles and fibers were entangled, and two tentacles extended from the rib area of the human-like mass, waving in the air.

Each tentacle had a bizarre compound eye with a vertical pupil, covered in black, thread-like hair.

The fresh meat in hand was snatched away!

At first, the giant zombie crocodile thought it was a fellow creature that had taken the fresh meat from its mouth. However, it didn't expect the mutated spider body to carry Zhao Futu and flee. With its instinctive thinking, it found it hard to understand this scene, but that didn't stop it from continuing the chase. It just needed to know that the fresh meat hadn't been eaten by another creature and that there was now an additional tasty meal!

Sssss!

Several parasitic worms shot out from the twisted flesh tumors on the giant zombie crocodile's back, but they were all deflected by the mutated spider body's waving tentacles. Occasionally, one or two landed on it, trying to penetrate the muscle layer and enter its body, but Zhao Futu pulled them out and crushed them one by one. He controlled the mutated spider body to flee quickly, occasionally firing his weapons.

"Glug! Glug!"

Zhao Futu drank the entire bottle of 'Dreamy Love' in one gulp, and his wounds quickly healed, with his health fully restored.

He leaped off the mutated spider body and ran swiftly on both sides of the road.

This made the giant zombie crocodile somewhat hesitant. With its simple intelligence, it couldn't determine which target to attack more effectively. Zhao Futu's occasional attacks enraged it, while the other target was larger and posed a greater threat. So, the giant zombie crocodile attacked both targets simultaneously.

As a result, the parasitic worm fire net was significantly dispersed.

During the chase, at least a hundred parasitic worms had shot out from its body, and the bizarre, disgusting tumors had shrunk considerably. Eventually, it stopped shooting and pursued Zhao Futu relentlessly.

Neither Zhao Futu nor the mutated spider body could break through its defensive resistance or cause fatal damage to it, which had an extremely high regenerative ability. The only effective attack Zhao Futu had made was with the rocket launcher; the others were like scratching it. The zombie population in Shanghai had decreased, and it hadn't eaten for a long time. The agile zombies would hide in buildings as soon as they saw it, making it extremely difficult for the giant zombie crocodile to chase them in the high-rise buildings.

Although there were few creatures in Shanghai that could penetrate its defenses, its large size and speed were also significant weaknesses.

At least, it wouldn't give up easily until it was certain it couldn't catch the target!

...

The Oriental Pearl Tower was in sight, and Zhao Futu could hear the heavy breathing of the others.

Frog's voice trembled slightly but quickly calmed down, saying, "Boss! I can see you. Two hundred meters ahead! The Oriental Pearl Radio and Television Tower Company, there's an open area there. Just lead it there!"

Zhao Futu activated the Cloud Swallowing Boots and accelerated again!

The mutated spider body, which had been slightly ahead, suddenly slowed down for some reason. The giant zombie crocodile's cloudy eyes showed a clear bloodlust, and it charged forward, closing the distance to less than ten meters from the mutated spider body. The mutated spider body's speed increased again, and it suddenly darted to the side, landing on the open area in front of the Oriental Pearl Radio and Television Tower Company.

At this moment!

The giant zombie crocodile faced a choice: continue chasing Zhao Futu, who was now far ahead, or pursue the mutated spider body, which had slowed down.

In the end, it turned and charged toward the nearby mutated spider body.

It opened its massive mouth filled with fangs and bit down on the mutated spider body. The mutated spider body, with its agility, should have been able to dodge, but it was just a bit too slow and was caught by the giant zombie crocodile, which bit into half of its body!

"Zzzzz!"

The mutated spider body let out a sharp, painful cry, struggling desperately to escape the giant zombie crocodile's sharp teeth. However, the crocodile held on tightly, and no matter how much it struggled, it couldn't break free. The mutated spider body's two tentacles waved rapidly, aiming for the giant zombie crocodile's eyes, but the crocodile ignored the attacks, holding on tightly. Then, G-virus parasites emerged from the tumors on its back, crawling into the mutated spider body's mouth and into its body, tearing it apart from the inside!

At that moment!

—Boom!!

A deafening explosion came from the base of the Oriental Pearl Tower, and the hundreds-of-meters-tall spire toppled over, collapsing and crushing the open area, creating a massive crater!

...

"Is it dead?" Frog's dusty face appeared in the flying dust.

To better time the explosion, he had stayed close to the explosion site, and he was slightly injured, but not seriously. His body had many minor abrasions from flying debris.

"Not yet!" Zhao Futu's emotionless voice rang out, causing everyone to be startled and filled with disappointment.

But then he added, "But the target seems immobilized!"

The disappointment vanished, and Yu Yan, who was a few hundred meters away, rolled her eyes and scolded, "Do you have to die if you say it all at once? You always leave half a sentence!"

The others ran over quickly.

When they arrived, they couldn't help but gasp in shock. The giant zombie crocodile's body was mostly crushed into a pile of flesh by the Oriental Pearl Tower, but its head was still intact. Even in this state, it hadn't died and was struggling to crawl out. The G-virus had given it such a tenacious life force that even with most of its body destroyed, it was still alive and kicking!

"Bang!"

Zhao Futu fired first, and the others followed with their weapons.

Frog set up his Gatling gun again, and Prince transformed into a werewolf, pouncing on the crocodile's head and clawing at its eyes with sharp wolf claws! Fat Cat rushed over, wielding a thick wooden stick and pounding the crocodile's skull. After a while, he sat down in frustration, muttering, "Damn! So frustrating! It's not breaking through the defense!!"

They fought the nearly dead target for about five minutes before finally killing the extremely resilient giant zombie crocodile.

Then, the cold voice of the Nightmare Space announced:

"Contractor No. 1013 has completed the ultimate kill! Gained 21,000 survival points, 25 merit points, 10 free attribute points, and one C-grade soul crystal!"

Immediately, the giant zombie crocodile exploded, dropping three deep blue unidentified items, two silver-white items, and a silver-grade key. Since the Nightmare Space considered them a temporary team, the items were automatically distributed based on their contributions during the kill. One silver-grade item and one deep blue unidentified item went to Zhao Futu's private space, one to Frog, who was responsible for the explosion, the silver-grade key to Yu Yan, and Fat Cat and Prince each received a deep blue item.

At this moment, Zhao Futu received another cold announcement:

"Contractor No. 1013 led the temporary team to complete the ultimate challenge, gaining one Bronze Ghost Head Token!"

Zhao Futu was surprised and examined the Bronze Ghost Head Token, which had the same pattern as the ghost head bronze door when entering the space, but its purpose was not specified and could only be checked after returning to the space.

"Wow!" Prince, who had just transformed back into human form, exclaimed, "I gained 8,000 survival points, 8 merit points, 3 free attribute points, and one D-grade soul crystal!"

Fat Cat happily took out a wine gourd and drank a large mouthful, saying, "I got 10,000 survival points, 10 merit points, 4 free attribute points. The space notified me that I completed the ultimate kill! This mission isn't over, and I've already gained 5 free attribute points, equivalent to experiencing a regular plot world."

Then, Yu Yan shared her gains: 12,000 survival points, 12 merit points, and 5 free attribute points.

Frog, responsible for the explosion, had the second-highest gains after Zhao Futu, receiving 15,000 survival points, 15 merit points, 7 free attribute points, and one C-grade soul crystal.

In this plan, Zhao Futu contributed the most and took the greatest risk.

Frog and Yu Yan also took significant risks and contributed a portion of the equipment. Fat Cat's contribution and risk were relatively low, and Prince, with his werewolf bloodline enhancement, was the weakest in the group and mostly played a supporting role, assisting Frog in finding explosives. He was in the standard new player transition period, having only experienced three plot worlds.

Prince, who had just transformed back into human form, was naked. The gains from this kill were almost as much as he would get from a full plot mission, so he was still quite excited. He swung a rather impressive sausage, momentarily forgetting to put on clothes. Yu Yan's gaze shifted, and she saw the meat worm, frowning and coldly humming.

Prince then remembered there were women around but was confident in his endowment and even puffed out his chest, swinging the large meat sausage.

—Bang!

The heavy sniper rifle fired, and Prince suddenly felt a sharp pain and coldness in his crotch, his hand covered in blood.

Yu Yan retracted the heavy sniper rifle, threw a roll of military bandages, and coldly said, "I forgot to tell you, I hate men who run naked in front of me!"

"This time, I left you one egg. Next time, I'll shoot the whole thing off!"

...

All the men present felt a cold wind in their crotches! (To be continued)
