At noon, Zhan Yi sat alone in a small tavern in Mor Town, drinking. This was already the second day he had been waiting here. Although he appeared carefree on the surface, he was somewhat impatient inside.
Since it was still four days until July 15th, he wanted to resolve the Yin-Yang Group's issue before the Nulín's birth. However, although he had noticed someone following him, no one approached him, making him somewhat uncertain if the Yin-Yang Group would actually come.
While he was drinking, Zhan Yi suddenly heard a commotion outside the window, followed by a sinister male voice: "Girl, I finally caught you. If you don't pay up today, you'll have to keep me company and make it worth my while, or else... hehe."
"Mr. Li, please give me a few more days. I really don't have any money right now," a woman's voice pleaded.
Zhan Yi turned his head and saw that outside his window, several large men were surrounding a girl who looked like a villager, demanding money. The lecherous look in their eyes seemed as if they wanted to devour her, and the girl's face was streaked with tears.
Seeing this, Zhan Yi's heart stirred, and a smile appeared at the corner of his mouth. The people he had been waiting for had finally arrived. Although the large men and the girl were playing their roles very convincingly, he could sense the energy fluctuations from them, especially from the girl, whose energy was much stronger than the men's. How could such a girl be in such a desperate situation?
However, although Zhan Yi guessed that these were members of the Yin-Yang Group, he did not immediately step in. Instead, he created an opportunity for them to approach him by pushing open the tavern's window and putting on an angry expression.
"Girl, you think you can just ask for more time? Today, I'm in a good mood, so I'm giving you a chance to pay with your body. Don't be ungrateful," the men outside shouted even louder as Zhan Yi pushed open the window.
"Mr. Li, please, I really don't have any money. Just let me go, and I promise to gather the money within a week," the girl's voice became even more helpless.
"Damn it, you bitch, do you think I'm a charity? It looks like you won't agree unless I teach you a lesson," the man cursed, then grabbed the girl's hair and punched her in the stomach.
The girl, hit by the punch, stumbled backward, right to the window where Zhan Yi was sitting, and cried out in pain: "Ah, Mr. Li, please, I really don't have any money... sob..."
Since Zhan Yi was sitting by the window, the girl was now only a few dozen centimeters away from him, making him feel her energy fluctuations even more strongly. The girl's energy was actually stronger than An Dao's, indicating that she was likely the new leader sent by the Yin-Yang Group.
Zhan Yi also began to observe the girl. She had a head of black, shiny hair tied into two small braids, eyebrows like distant mountains, large eyes that, despite the tears, still exuded a captivating allure, a straight nose, rosy cheeks, and cherry lips. Her skin was smooth and white, and her simple clothes made her look like a beautiful villager. If not for the energy fluctuations, Zhan Yi would have thought she was a stunning village girl.
"Damn it, will you come with me or not? Otherwise, I'll strangle you right now," the men said, surrounding her again. The man called Mr. Li grabbed her by the neck.
"I... it hurts," the girl said, her head tilted back in pain, her eyes looking at Zhan Yi sitting by the window, filled with pleading.
Seeing the girl's eyes, Zhan Yi knew it was time to act. He picked up a teapot that had just been brought to the table and threw it at the man's face, then stood up and shouted, "You damn it, that's too much. Can't you see I'm eating?"
"Ah... it hurts so much," the man didn't expect Zhan Yi to do this. The teapot shattered, and the hot tea splashed all over his face, making him clutch his face and cry out in pain.
The onlookers were stunned, but soon burst into cheers. They had long been annoyed by the man and his group, but since they were clearly powerful, no one dared to intervene. Now, Zhan Yi had finally taken action for them, and it felt great.
The girl also seemed surprised by what happened, her face showing a moment of shock, but she quickly turned and grabbed Zhan Yi's hand, saying gratefully, "Thank you, sir."
"It's nothing, nothing. I just wanted to say that if you're going to fight, do it somewhere else. I'm drinking here," Zhan Yi pulled his hand away and shook his head.
The onlookers were even more stunned. They had thought Zhan Yi was a hero who had stepped in to help, but this reason was too casual.
However, the man on the ground couldn't stay still. He wiped the tea leaves and blood from his face, pointed at Zhan Yi, and shouted, "Kid, you're asking for it. Brothers, beat him up." He waved his hand, and the men around him rushed toward the window.
"Go to hell," Zhan Yi watched as they got closer, picked up a hot water bottle from the ground, and poured the hot water out.
"Ah..." This time, it wasn't just the man who screamed; all the men rushing forward were scalded. The hot water in the tavern was always fresh, and it was scalding hot. As soon as it hit their bodies, blisters formed. The girl had somehow moved to the side.
But Zhan Yi wasn't done yet. He pushed the window open, jumped onto the street, and started punching and kicking the men on the ground, cursing as he did so, "Damn it, I told you not to disturb me while I'm drinking. You didn't listen, did you? You want to beat me up? I'll show you what happens when you disturb me drinking. See if you dare to do it again."
The men on the ground were beaten badly. Zhan Yi noticed a few of them trying to resist but hesitated when they saw the girl. He continued until they were all lying on the ground, then stepped on the face of the man called Mr. Li, saying, "Damn it, you scumbag, do you still dare to say I'm asking for it?"
"No, no, please spare me, sir," Mr. Li's face was swollen like a bun, and he pleaded pitifully, even more so than the girl had earlier.
Hearing Mr. Li's words, Zhan Yi stomped on his face again and said angrily, "Get lost." He then jumped back into the tavern through the window, and the men, relieved, quickly got up and ran away.
