"Really, Jenny, you can hypnotize?" Lisa and Lily both leaned in.
"Sort of. Actually, I think it's better to talk about your troubles. We're all sisters here." Her words lacked the usual American openness.
Catherine listened, her face turning red.
This can't be said, once it's out... I'll be a complete tragedy.
Not to mention the near-rape incident, the lingering aftereffects of her troubles left her at a loss.
"Come on, give it a try, Kate!"
They were all excited.
"Then... just a little?" Catherine said reluctantly.
Afterward, Jenny took Catherine to the school clinic, negotiated with the teacher, and secured an empty room.
"The treatment requires a quiet environment, so you all should go out."
Hearing Jenny's words, Catherine felt a bit relieved.
If it's just one person, the situation would be better.
But at that moment, they pulled Jenny out with them.
"Huh?"
Catherine saw Lily and the others smirking, but she couldn't hear what they were saying.
Jenny initially looked puzzled, but then she also started to smirk.
"Right... don't forget the most important question~" Lily winked at Jenny.
"I can only try my best. Hypnosis isn't magic; it just makes the subconscious feel comfortable. If she doesn't want to say it, she won't."
After saying that, Jenny walked in and closed the door.
"Alright, Kate, lie down on the bed."
Jenny said, taking off her glasses.
In the past six months, the freckles on Jenny's face had disappeared. Now, without her glasses, she looked like an ugly duckling turned swan.
However, Jenny's attire wasn't great, so her elegance didn't fully come through.
Jenny didn't seem to be bad at makeup. After all, she had quickly styled Catherine's hair before, finishing it in no time. She probably didn't want to indulge in vanity.
Jenny took out a timer and turned it on.
"Kate, now, try to relax as much as possible..."
Catherine had some experience, so this time, she quickly got into it.
"Kate, what are you troubled by?"
She asked gently.
"I... it's hard to explain. I think about men every day, but I also hate men."
Catherine didn't know how to clearly explain her situation, and in her semi-conscious state, she only gave a vague answer.
Jenny raised an eyebrow, not expecting Catherine to have such an issue.
Maybe it was because of Jenny's better hypnosis skills, or perhaps Catherine could fully open up. She was now speaking in English, seemingly to make it easier for Jenny to understand.
"Why do you hate men?"
"Just hate... really hate... very much hate..."
In her subconscious, Catherine didn't want to mention that incident, so she just said "hate."
"Have you felt any discomfort recently?"
"Down there, it feels empty, and I can't concentrate. I also don't like wearing skirts; it makes me feel even more empty... When the teacher's hand touches my thigh during ballet practice, it makes me shiver all over."
"Alright, Kate."
Jenny didn't laugh or show any other expression. She said, "Men aren't disgusting creatures; they are human, just like us. Also, you need to face yourself and follow your instincts, not rebel against them, understand?"
Catherine seemed a bit confused but nodded.
"Good, I'll ask a few more questions..."
"Kate, what do you think of Aunt Susan?"
Aunt Susan was their dorm supervisor.
"Alright... When I first saw her, I wondered how such a fat person could be so energetic and stand at the dorm entrance every day."
"What do you think of Lily?"
"She seems to think she's a big sister, but I see her as a little sister."
Jenny almost laughed.
"What about Lisa?"
"She likes tight-fitting clothes. Every time I see her, I think of full-body tights, corsets, and so on. She's very modern, but it would be better if she were a bit more classical."
"What about Ada?"
"Very beautiful, very sexy..."
Catherine didn't mention the skill with her fingers.
"What about me?"
"Top student, a typical ugly duckling turned swan, elegant but with a low presence. You should be more assertive."
Jenny tilted her head and thought for a moment.
"Kate... what's your favorite brand of underwear?"
"I don't like underwear, so I often wear my ballet practice clothes as underwear. But for health reasons, I have to wear them..."
"What about thongs?"
"My favorite is C-shaped, but I like looking at them, not wearing them."
C?
Jenny hadn't heard of it.
"What about bras?"
"I don't like them either. I heard there's a type that supports but leaves the nipples exposed. I want to see others wear them..."
"Kate... who is your favorite person?"
"Many..."
Many?
What kind of answer is that?
This was a reserved question!
Girls love gossip, especially about the boys they like.
"Can you give examples?"
"Saber, Haruhi Suzumiya, Keira Knightley, Natalie, Audrey Hepburn..."
A series of names, Jenny had only heard a few. But the first one seemed strange.
"Who is Saber?"
Saber means saber or sword, not a name.
"Arthur..."
"Who is she?"
"King Arthur."
Jenny was puzzled.
"Isn't King Arthur a man?"
"If he were a woman, he would be very beautiful."
It seems Catherine really doesn't like men?
Jenny came to this conclusion.
Jenny's grandfather was from Britain, so she had heard the legend of King Arthur. In fact, Jenny had always admired King Arthur as a child.
In her impression, King Arthur should be a muscular, hairy man with sharp eyes. But such a person was a woman in Catherine's eyes?
Oh no, Jenny didn't know what to do. She felt that Catherine's sexual orientation might be a bit off. She needed to talk to Catherine about this, but for now, she could only do this much.
"Alright, Kate, that's all the questions. Now, repeat after me."
"I will follow my instincts."
Catherine hesitated: "I will follow my instincts."
"I won't be troubled by my body but will be proud of it."
This was a concept from American gender education.
"I won't be troubled by my body but will be proud of it."
"I will follow the will of my body and not try to resist it."
This was mainly for Catherine's current troubles. In Jenny's view, Catherine's issues stemmed from not being open. She didn't seem to accept that her identity and body were one. Although her words might seem harsh, she thought they fit Catherine well.
However, hypnosis only influences the subconscious; the key lies with the person themselves. As long as Catherine understood, everything would be resolved.
After all, hypnosis isn't science fiction; it's not that magical.
"... I will follow the will of my body and not try to resist it."
"Alright, I'll count from 1 to 10, and then you'll wake up, okay?"
"Um..."
Jenny finally breathed a sigh of relief.
Everything was done. Unfortunately, the most important question received an unexpected answer, disappointing the gossip-loving girls.
...
To prevent misunderstandings, the previous chapter's plot was simplified. This was to avoid confusion.
