Chapter 24

As time moved into February, a car gradually pulled up to Blair, Maryland.
A group of middle school girls got out of the car, their faces filled with immense excitement.
They were going to shoot a movie.
It was thanks to Lily that she managed to gather all her classmates from the photography club. It seemed they were also very enthusiastic about the filming.
"If we can successfully shoot this, maybe we should start a film company! We'll not only shoot movies but also TV series! And everyone will wear the clothes I design!"
That last part was the main point, right, Lisa?
"Maybe, but I think we should focus on getting this film done first," Katherine could only say to her.
Lisa shrugged and then suddenly grinned at Katherine, reaching out with both hands and using the martial arts technique "Milk Dragon Claw."
"Hmm..."
Katherine's face turned bright red. The tingling sensation traveled from her chest to her brain and then back to her body. She felt a burning heat below, her legs went weak, and this weakness spread throughout her body, as if she had lost all strength, making it impossible to resist.
"Kate, you're so sensitive..." Lisa laughed. "Hey? Why aren't you wearing the one I made?"
Katherine was wearing a full-coverage bra.
"Wearing that, I can barely move." It was indeed comfortable, but putting clothes over it made it impossible to move. "Lisa, can you let go?"
Lisa didn't listen to Katherine and instead started to knead, making her even weaker, leaving her at the mercy of the other.
"That won't do. I'm looking forward to the day Kate becomes a cow, so I have to keep kneading~"
"What's the point of being so big?"
Lily suddenly walked over but only watched Katherine, who was red-faced and unable to resist.
"Flat-chested is no good; it lacks any femininity." Lisa insisted on her view.
"But girls like that are cuter."
Lily put her hands on her hips.
It seemed that even in America, personal aesthetic preferences varied.
"Why use the term 'cow'?" Ada suddenly chimed in.
"Because being like a cow is perfect."
The girls had no idea how much their conversation was affecting Katherine.
Their conversation was innocent, but the word "cow" kept echoing in Katherine's mind. Clearly, she wasn't as innocent.
"In my opinion, anything bigger than a C is no good!" Lily blurted out.
Lisa looked at Lily, then focused on her chest, adopting a look of realization.
"What are you looking at!"
Lily, dissatisfied, puffed out her not-so-plump chest.
"I really look forward to Kate becoming a cow..." Ada also joined the chest-grabbing.
"I think as long as it looks good, that's fine." Jenny came over to mediate.
"Besides, girls, haven't you noticed that this isn't school?"
Indeed, many passersby had already stopped to watch...
Katherine finally escaped the clutches.
Then, the filming began.
Katherine was the producer, director, and lead actress. The photography and lighting were handled by the photography club. Lily, who was also one of the lead actresses, was the main photographer, while the club set up the lighting and scenes.
Although they weren't professionals, they were very dedicated.
To ensure authenticity, Katherine even went to the streets to find local villagers to play extras.
She didn't require any acting skills; she just needed to tell them about "The Blair Witch" and have them repeat it.
Of course, before that, she had to conduct "interviews" without their knowledge. Then, she would tell them the story, and through editing, it would be done. Since the camera couldn't switch, Katherine designed a process where Lily quickly turned the camera to herself and then back, making it impossible for anyone to notice.
Katherine indeed had a natural talent for acting, though she herself didn't realize it. Everyone around her thought Katherine was excellent, as if she had truly become a middle school girl investigating the witch's secret.
Katherine had only briefly studied directing and had some knowledge of acting, but her natural talent seemed to be very good, so her acting could be rated at least 90 out of 100.
After filming the town scenes, the residents seemed to understand what Katherine and her group were doing and became very interested.
It seemed... quite interesting.
However, the next scenes would be shot in the suburbs and the forest.
The shooting time was only two days, otherwise, it would have to wait until the next week, so they had to be serious.
After all, they were students.
But it was their first time shooting such a movie. On the first day, they only managed to film the town scenes and some small scenes that might be used later, totaling only about ten minutes.
On the second day, the weather turned bad, and it started to rain, so the filming had to be postponed.
It took them a whole month to complete "The Blair Witch," which, in Katherine's view, was a waste of time. After all, B-movies didn't require so much time.
However, in total, they only spent about five days, which wasn't too much.
Then came the editing, which Katherine did alone.
The photography club had a ready-made darkroom, though it was a bit rudimentary, but completing the task wasn't difficult.
Since the filming was done, the next step was—promotion.
After the editing was complete, the entire movie was finished.
Although there was some acting, the main theme of the movie was the inexplicable fear itself, not the actors. Katherine's main goal was to convey this.
The terrifying atmosphere was heightened to the extreme after editing.
Katherine used several editing techniques, such as camera shaking and turning off, making it seem like a continuous shot.
To turn a low-budget student film into a blockbuster, the secret weapon was to promote the fictional plot as a documentary, making uninformed young people discuss the history of the Blair Witch and worry about the safety of the three college students.
However, in Katherine's view, the promotion was good, but doing it rashly wouldn't work.
After all, times had changed.
First, they needed to make the story of "The Blair Witch" familiar to everyone.
This was easy. Katherine negotiated with the paper book company, and in the upcoming June release of "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban," she added this legend to prove that there were many wizards in America. She also added a note: This legend is from Blair, Maryland.
Of course, they needed a distributor; otherwise, how would the film be released?
There was a lot to do, but the effort was worth it.
...
The chest size debate made me quite conflicted.
