Chapter 29

"Hey, you guys never said that before!"

Faced with everyone's teasing, Catherine could only protest weakly.

"Because we didn't realize you were so self-destructive, Kate." Lily put her hands on her hips.

"As my model, you should show more charm instead of throwing it away." This was Lisa.

"Uncle Homer thinks you have great potential to be a star, Kate. You can't just give up on yourself." Ada also said.

I'm not self-destructive?

I'm giving up on myself?

Catherine didn't know how to respond.

Then, everyone laughed... Clearly, they were teasing her.

"Sisters, I think you should learn from Jenny. This game is really good."

Seizing the opportunity, Catherine glanced at Jenny, who was playing the blocks.

"Kate, do you think we're joking?"

Lily said again.

"Uh... Isn't it... a joke? And you never said this before. Besides, I've always been like this, and you never said anything."

Catherine was slightly annoyed.

"It's fine when you wear pants, but when you wear a skirt, walking like that is just too..." Lily shrugged.

"Indeed, we didn't notice before... Oh my God, Kate actually has such a big flaw!"

Lisa seemed to have discovered a new continent.

"Oh..."

Catherine could only sigh.

For some reason, Catherine suddenly thought of that night in Seattle.

Could it be that because I walk like this, those people...

Catherine looked down at her body.

Compared to a year ago, her body was increasingly exuding a feminine aura. She was transitioning from a child to an adult.

To be honest, Catherine cared a lot about her body. Since she had become a woman, she didn't want to be ugly, and she didn't want to be a "Chun Ge." No matter what, being beautiful was already a good thing. She didn't expect to look like a man on the surface, after all, that would be a "high imitation" rather than the "original." Although Catherine herself was a copy, she didn't want to become a fake.

She thought she had been very mindful of her image, but she didn't expect that in front of her friends, she still had a lot of flaws.

"Kate, I think you should wear gloves when you can. That way, your hands won't get hurt." Lily looked at the thin calluses on Catherine's hands, seemingly more concerned than she was.

"Don't worry, Kate. As long as you take care of yourself, these calluses can all be removed." Ada patted her shoulder.

"Maybe I can design a couple of pieces of clothing to correct your posture."

Lisa also said.

The three of them surrounded Catherine, critiquing her until a burst of cheerful music came from the TV.

"Huh?"

Everyone looked over and saw the screen displaying the three large letters "WIN."

Jenny... completed the Emma Blocks?!

Catherine looked at her in disbelief, but Jenny seemed relieved.

You must be kidding?

Although the top speed was still far from the astonishing speed of 21st-century Tetris, to complete it on the first try... too fake, right?!

"This game is really hard." Jenny rubbed her eyes. "But it's really fun. 'Video games'... hmm, it's a good thing."

"Eh? Even a top student likes playing games?" Lily was surprised, as she didn't remember Jenny being much of a gamer.

"It's nothing. I just don't like moving much, but I think it's nice to do things while sitting." In a way, this was similar to Catherine's laziness.

"Let me play~"

Seeing Jenny having fun, Lily also joined in.

But she clearly didn't know how to play and didn't even look at the manual Jenny had opened. Soon, she got a "GAME OVER" much faster.

However, she didn't seem to want to stop. Instead, she continued playing, seemingly captivated by the game—this was the charm of Tetris... or Emma Blocks.

But the others still seemed focused on Catherine.

"You were talking about Kate? What's wrong with her?"

Jenny seemed interested.

"We want Kate to be more ladylike." Lisa answered.

"Why can't I be more sexy?" Catherine rolled her eyes.

"Being ladylike and sexy aren't contradictory, Kate. You need a certain aura." Ada replied.

"Maybe."

Catherine didn't want to argue anymore.

Actually, she had been very mindful of her image, but some things weren't that easy to change.

After all, she was still learning ballet, and learning ballet often led to an outward-turned gait.

For men, an outward-turned gait might be normal, and even an inward-turned gait could be considered ugly, but for girls, it was quite unattractive. Usually, it might not matter, but now, everyone noticed that Catherine indeed had "flaws."

"Kate, what do you think of being ladylike?"

"Ladylike? How? If you mean being ladylike in general... it's okay, I guess."

Facing Jenny's question, she answered.

"Do you want to be ladylike?"

"If you mean on the surface."

Moving and acting like a lady would indeed be nice, but Catherine didn't want to become a lady at heart.

"Let me think... Your point is, you want to be as elegant as a lady but don't want to change yourself?"

Jenny's father was a psychologist, and she quickly analyzed Catherine's thoughts.

Catherine nodded in agreement.

"Then, this needs to be done through behavior. In fact, everyone can try. Do you want to give it a shot?"

"Sounds interesting." Ada replied.

"Seems good." Lisa also agreed.

"Let me finish this level!"

Lily was still struggling with the second level.

"Explaining it is a bit complicated... Let me put it this way. To have a ladylike aura, there are roughly two methods. One is to genuinely accept it and consciously change yourself. The other is to force external changes, creating a reflex arc in your brain and spine."

"Ladies... I think you might be hungry?" Old White interrupted their conversation, standing at the door and smiling at them.
