**Dungeon Food Truck Owner Chapter 1**
‘Don’t long for a different world and live a simple life.’
It was a tiresome phrase that Ji-eun had heard from her late grandmother since childhood.
The Era of Great Awakening.
Twenty years ago, towers known as dungeons began to appear around the world, and cracks started to form. Horrible monsters poured out from within, and it seemed that humanity would be helplessly defeated by these otherworldly beings. It was then that the [Awakeners] appeared.
However, many Awakeners lost their lives in the process. Among them were Ji-eun's parents. She was only two years old when the dungeon gates were finally closed.
From then on, Ji-eun was raised by her grandmother. Her grandmother lived in constant worry, fearing that Ji-eun might become an Awakener like her daughter and son-in-law and leave suddenly.
Thanks to her grandmother's constant warnings, Ji-eun, unlike her friends who longed for the glamorous life of hunters who amassed great wealth, only wished for a simple life.
Ji-eun had a talent for cooking, much like her grandmother, who was once a famous chef. From elementary school, she took over the kitchen for her ailing grandmother, and cooking brought her immense joy.
The most fulfilling moments were when she prepared delicious meals using the recipes her grandmother had written and shared them with others.
However, when Ji-eun was in her third year of middle school, her grandmother's health rapidly deteriorated.
Whenever her grandmother opened her eyes in the ICU, she would always ask Ji-eun if she had eaten and what she had eaten.
After her grandmother passed away, 15-year-old Ji-eun, who had no relatives, was truly alone.
Before she could even be overwhelmed by her grief, reality hit her hard. She had no one to guide her on how to proceed with the funeral or how to manage the costs.
With the help of her teachers, she managed to place her grandmother in the family mausoleum where her parents were laid to rest.
Feeling truly alone, it didn't take long for Ji-eun to realize she was on her own.
‘Ji-eun, no matter what happens, you must always eat well and take care of yourself.’
After school, when she returned to her dark, empty home, Ji-eun would cook using the recipes in her grandmother's notebook. It felt as if her grandmother was by her side.
Perhaps that's why, when she cooked, she didn't feel alone.
And so, 21-year-old Ji-eun had one dream: to open her own restaurant.
Thanks to her grandmother's influence, she was skilled in Korean cuisine and had also mastered other types of cooking through her own efforts. There were almost no dishes she couldn't prepare.
To achieve her dream, Ji-eun dedicated herself to developing numerous recipes. She had just been shortlisted for a youth business support competition, which would provide a food truck for three years as part of a Seoul city initiative.
* * *
Ding!
Ji-eun, who had been holding her phone with her hands clasped, suddenly opened her eyes wide. After taking a deep breath and checking her phone, she jumped out of bed and shouted:
“I passed!!”
Despite the disbelief, the clear message on her phone screen read: "Congratulations on being selected as a recipient of the government's youth business support program."
Her cry of joy, unable to contain the overwhelming feeling of flying, echoed throughout the room. This food truck, achieved after three attempts, was the first step toward her dream!
A week later, a photo of Ji-eun, standing by her truck with a bright smile, was published in the newspaper at a celebration event hosted by the Seoul city government.
* * *
“Hmmm~~~”
Driving the truck to a quiet Han River park, Ji-eun hummed a tune as she lowered the foldable sign from the back seat. She was deciding on a name for her first shop, the food truck.
Struggling to open the cargo door, which served as the cooking space, she revealed a space designed like a market stall. Unfolding the folding roof provided shade over the stall.
“This is the kitchen of my first shop……”
With a look of awe, Ji-eun swept her hand over the cooking appliances, which would soon prepare various dishes. She then lifted the chalkboard sign she had placed on the ground and set it up straight.
Taking out a white board marker, she excitedly wrote the name of the food truck.
Just as she finished writing the pre-determined name and was about to write the business rules, her phone rang.
Ding! Ding!
“Huh……?”
Awakening? Food truck owner?
Ji-eun was taken aback by the sudden blue screen that appeared before her.
Ding! Ding!
Alerts started pouring in like crazy.
- Skill Description: Smooth driving and parking without food spilling, regardless of terrain.
- Amazing! Experience the thrill of autonomous driving.
“Huh? Wait a minute……”

- Not taxable, so no receipts are issued! The ultimate item for accumulating wealth!
“Oh, this is……”
- Skill Description: The freshest ingredients are provided daily. Gift your customers the best taste with the best ingredients.
As the skill acquisition notifications kept coming, Ji-eun was in a daze. When she saw the final message from the system, she gasped in shock.
- This is a permit to freely operate within the dungeon. You can start your business anywhere inside the dungeon.
- A personal item that cannot be transferred or discarded.
- You can only operate within the dungeon.
A piece of paper that had suddenly appeared in her hand, now glowing brightly. When she read the detailed description of the item, which stated, "You can only operate within the dungeon," Ji-eun couldn't help but collapse to the ground.
The noisy alerts stopped, and the surroundings became quiet.
Realizing what had happened, Ji-eun, unable to believe the situation, shouted:
“What is this?!”
* * *
“Awakening? I became an Awakener?”
An unbelievable situation had occurred. Despite trying to deny it, the system window that only Awakeners could see appeared, pulling her back to reality.
Trembling, she raised her hand and pressed 'Y.' The permit in her hand glowed and disappeared.
“Y… Yes….”
As Ji-eun answered with a trembling voice, the permit she had just held appeared in the inventory window that floated in the air. Only then did she start to feel the reality of becoming an Awakener.
When she pressed the blinking system window, a large parchment unfolded before her eyes.

“Hahaha……”
After reading all five skill descriptions, Ji-eun let out a bitter laugh.
She had lived her life without any interest in hunters, as her grandmother had advised. Now, this was happening. At least, she thought, it was a relief that she wasn't a hunter class but a non-combat Awakener class.
As soon as she confirmed all the details in her status window, another system window appeared.
“Yes.”
- You need to complete the class specialization tutorial. Do you want to proceed?
“…Yes.”
- Set the menu for today's recommended dish and input the opening time!
- Tutorial completion reward: Skill points (100p)
The tutorial content that followed ignored Ji-eun's disbelief.
Now that she had a shop, the next step was to start her first business. The problem was, according to the skill description, her food truck would randomly move to a terrifying dungeon somewhere, a place she had never even thought about.
“This… Let’s put it on hold!”
And 21-year-old Ji-eun.
She was a serious coward who had never even watched a horror movie in her life. The mere creak of a window in the wind was enough to make her hide under the covers!
