Boom!
The pitch-black sky was sliced by dazzling lightning, zigzagging through the clouds like silver snakes.
"Ah! So boring!" Qin Shi lay on the table, clicking the refresh button with his mouse, his eyes lifeless as he stared at the wallpaper on his desktop, pondering what to do next.
"Meow!" A cat's cry came from outside the window.
Qin Shi was startled. He looked up and saw a cat crouched on the window sill outside.
"How is this possible?" Qin Shi was greatly surprised. The cat was entirely black, about the size of an ordinary Persian cat, with nothing particularly special about it. But this was the 8th floor! How did it get up here?
Without caring about the heavy rain outside, Qin Shi hurriedly opened the window and cautiously said, "Don't move at all!" He knew the cat couldn't understand, but he was afraid it might be startled and fall.
However, the black cat was very obedient. Its emerald eyes fixed on Qin Shi, it remained motionless on the window sill, letting the rain soak its fur.
Qin Shi reached out and picked up the black cat, quickly bringing it inside, placing it on the ground, closing the window, and sighing with relief. Seeing the black cat shaking off the water droplets, he smiled and said, "You're quite obedient! I have no idea how you got up here, but it's a good thing I found you."
The black cat glanced at Qin Shi, then turned its head and continued grooming its fur.
Qin Shi, not minding the cat's indifference, found a towel and wiped the rain off the black cat.
"Meow!" The black cat shook its fur, purring contentedly.
"Are you hungry? I'll get you something to eat!" Qin Shi went to the kitchen, opened the fridge, and found various instant noodles and some canned food.
Qin Shi took out a can of fish, closed the fridge, opened the can, and placed it on a plate. He then found a small bowl and poured some cool water into it.
When he returned to the room, he found the black cat had jumped onto the table, staring at a Doraemon plush toy.
"That's Doraemon. He's a cat too, but he's much more powerful than you!" Qin Shi explained with a smile, knowing the black cat couldn't understand him, but he was happy to have a living creature to talk to, having been a homebody for so long.
"Meow!" The black cat glanced at Qin Shi, its meow seemingly filled with disdain, but its eyes lit up when it saw the plate and bowl on the table. It immediately ignored Doraemon and started eating the fish.
Qin Shi sat at the table, watching the black cat eat the fish, and stroked its smooth fur, saying, "You must be hungry. I wonder if you have an owner. If you have nowhere to go, you can stay with me!"
The black cat paused in its eating, then continued to eat the fish on the plate.
"My name is Qin Shi. Since you're a black cat, I'll call you Xiao Hei!" Qin Shi didn't care if the cat agreed and gave it a name.
"..." The black cat glared at Qin Shi, clearly unhappy.
"Doraemon is starting!" The sudden sound startled the black cat. It looked up and saw a blue cat on the screen, identical to the plush toy on the table.
"Ha ha..." Qin Shi watched Doraemon and Nobita in the anime, laughing uncontrollably, making the black cat think this young human was crazy.
"That was great! I wish I had a Doraemon!" Qin Shi said, still not satisfied after watching the new episode of Doraemon.
The black cat narrowed its eyes, lying on the table, looking at the Doraemon plush toy and then at the contemplative Qin Shi. A glint of intelligence flashed in its emerald eyes, but Qin Shi, focused on the computer, didn't notice.
"How about it? Doraemon is quite interesting, right!" Qin Shi closed the webpage, stroked the black cat's soft fur, and sighed, "I'm already 26 years old. I should have long passed the age to watch Doraemon. Many people look at me strangely when they hear I watch it. I understand what they mean. I'm just a grown-up otaku who never grows up, like Nobita. Although I live a miserable life, I have a kind and righteous heart. Unfortunately, I don't have a Doraemon."
"Meow!" The black cat extended its soft paw and placed it on Qin Shi's arm, as if noticing his low spirits and trying to comfort him.
"You're quite smart!" Qin Shi looked at the black cat in surprise and smiled, "I've long been used to this. In life, if you always care about others' opinions, you'll eventually forget yourself. So, let them say what they want. In your cat language, they're all foolish humans!"
"Meow!" The black cat meowed, seemingly agreeing with Qin Shi.
"This world is really boring. People run around every day, even striving desperately for worldly needs, while forgetting the needs of their hearts. The darkness hides countless lies. People wear masks of hypocrisy to seek dirty things, speaking noble reasons while secretly doing evil deeds. To live, they can resort to any means, and for false dreams, they can hurt others at will, building their so-called happiness on others' pain." Qin Shi propped his hands behind his head, leaning back in the chair, and gazed out at the heavy rain, speaking in a childish manner.
"Rich people may not find happiness; powerful people may not find joy. Happiness and joy, in the end, are not about money and power, but a sense of peace and tranquility in the heart. Don't miss the beauty in front of you and the happiness in your hands."
"..." The black cat remained silent.
"Never mind! I'm really confused, talking to you about these things. You can't understand them. For you, having fish to eat and water to drink is heaven, right!" Qin Shi chuckled, scratched the black cat's chin, glanced at the time, and exclaimed, "Naruto has been updated!"
He opened the webpage and started watching the latest episode. The more he watched, the more boring it became. He muttered to himself, "Indeed, after Madara died, it's become less interesting. This guy Kaguya Otsutsuki is completely unimpressive. I really wanted to see Madara at full power, but he was ambushed by Black Zetsu right after his transformation. I thought he would be talked to death by Naruto. Naruto's persuasion skills are really unbeatable. Tobi planned for a lifetime, but in the end, he was moved to a noble death by Naruto's words."
Thinking of Naruto and Sasuke, Qin Shi shivered. Naruto Shippuden should actually be called "Tongue Battle of the Heroes." With just his mouth, Naruto can talk any intelligent being to death. And Sasuke, who lost his family and became twisted, can abandon everything for power, but when he learns the truth, he sheds tears.
When Qin Shi thought Sasuke would destroy Konoha, he was surprised to hear that Sasuke wanted to become the Hokage. Qin Shi thought Sasuke's mind was already different from normal people, but Naruto and Sasuke were even more extraordinary.
The most exciting part of Naruto is actually the various supporting characters, like Madara Uchiha, Hashirama Senju, Nagato Uzumaki, Itachi Uchiha, and Minato Namikaze. These supporting characters far surpass the main characters.
"Indeed, the main characters in novels are always invincible, but the two main characters in Naruto are not invincible; they are speechless." Qin Shi sighed and smiled at the black cat, "You probably don't know who Madara Uchiha is. Let me show you."
He found the animation where Madara Uchiha appeared and stared intently at the screen.
Madara Uchiha stood on a high platform, facing thousands of the Allied Shinobi Forces, arms crossed, his eyes looking down on the world, as if no one could match him.
"I have a jutsu I want to try, but it's a shame there are too few people. It looks better with more people!" Madara Uchiha's face was calm. He clasped his hands and shouted, "Wood Release: Tree Bound Infinite!"
Countless towering trees sprouted from the ground, rapidly growing and eventually blocking out the sky.
Qin Shi watched Madara Uchiha's overwhelming power in the anime, using Hashirama Senju's Wood Release technique, and was so excited that he danced around. The black cat looked at Qin Shi speechlessly, then shifted its gaze back to Madara Uchiha on the screen, its emerald eyes flickering in the light.
"How about it? Pretty impressive, right!" Qin Shi turned off the computer and looked at the black cat lying beside him, only to find it gazing out the window.
Qin Shi's face was filled with longing as he sighed, "It's a pity such a powerful character was killed by Black Zetsu. Of course, no matter what, he was the antagonist and would eventually be defeated by justice, but his defeat was too pathetic. If I could become Madara Uchiha, that would be great, but that's impossible."
"Alright! It's time to sleep!" Qin Shi put away his unrealistic thoughts, picked up the black cat, placed it on the bed, turned off the light, and took off his clothes, falling into a deep sleep.
The black cat lay beside Qin Shi, looking at his ordinary face, and smiled, "Ancient people are really interesting, much more fun than people in the future! Since you like Doraemon so much and want to become Madara Uchiha, I'll help you once. Although, in my view, that world is pitifully weak, I'll see how far you can go."
If Qin Shi had woken up at that moment, he would have been terrified to hear a cat speaking, and in a very pleasant female voice.
