Chapter 13

Uchiha Madara walked for a while and had already entered the jungle. Looking back, he found that the Uchiha base had disappeared from his sight. He slowed his pace, thinking about the hints Uchiha Kai had given him earlier.

"Could there be someone within the Uchiha clan who wants to harm me?" Madara had originally intended to leave secretly, but someone must have leaked the information. When he left, a group of clan members had gathered at the gate, and more and more people kept arriving, almost the entire clan came to see him off.

"Who? Come out!" Madara's eyes turned cold, he stopped and placed his hand on the Lightning Blade, looking around warily.

"What's wrong, Madara?" Cat Fairy had already crawled into Madara's backpack and fallen asleep. Hearing Madara's shout, she poked her head out of the backpack, rubbed her eyes with her paw, and looked around with a dazed expression.

"We need to be careful. The road ahead may not be peaceful." Uchiha Madara said solemnly.

"Ah!" Hearing Madara's words, Cat Fairy's sleepiness vanished, her eyes widened, and she looked around fearfully.

Clang!

The Lightning Blade was instantly drawn, blocking a flying shuriken.

"Not bad, Madara." A familiar voice came from behind Uchiha Madara.

"Phew!" Madara let out a slight sigh of relief, turned around, and saw Uchiha Kai leaning against a tree, a smile on his face.

"Uncle Kai, I thought you were an enemy." Uchiha Madara's face also showed a smile, but he still held the Lightning Blade tightly, not relaxing. Although he trusted Uchiha Kai, he was exceptionally cautious, unsure if Uchiha Kai was an enemy in disguise.

"Very good, a ninja must always remain vigilant, even with friends and family, one cannot be careless." Uchiha Kai nodded in approval.

"Uncle Kai, what are the ninja scrolls I asked you for last night?" Uchiha Madara suddenly asked.

"Various ninja scrolls, but I really don't understand why you need them. Although the Uchiha clan has many scrolls besides fire techniques, they are mostly war trophies. Our clan members are almost all fire chakra users, so they don't need other elemental scrolls." Uchiha Kai's face showed confusion.

"Being a fire user now doesn't mean it will always be so." Uchiha Madara sheathed his blade and smiled.

"Never mind, I won't ask more about your affairs." Uchiha Kai shook his head, pulled a small notebook from his pocket, and threw it to Uchiha Madara, saying, "This is some of my ninja techniques. Keep it and read it on the way. I'm leaving, take care."

With a swish, he used the Body Flicker Technique and disappeared in front of Madara.

"Let's go too!" Uchiha Madara narrowed his eyes, looked around, and found that the forest had returned to silence. Except for the bird calls in the sky, there was no one around, only towering ancient trees. But he seemed to sense a hint of conspiracy.

Uchiha Madara knew that Uchiha Kai had deliberately let him discover him; otherwise, he wouldn't have noticed Uchiha Kai. It seemed that everything was related to this notebook.

Opening the small notebook, Madara's pupils constricted. On the first page, only one sentence was written: "Madara, the Great Elder wants to kill you. Run as far as you can."

"Cat Fairy, hold on tight, I'm going to speed up." Uchiha Madara threw the notebook into his backpack, turned his head, and said to Cat Fairy behind him. He leaped onto a tree trunk and ran forward.

"Ah!" Cat Fairy tightly gripped the backpack, seeing the scenery rush backward.

Suddenly, dozens of shurikens flew out of the forest, raining down on Uchiha Madara.

Clang! Clang! Clang!

Madara drew the Lightning Blade and, in a flash, blocked all the shurikens.

"If you want to kill me, why not show yourself? These small tricks won't kill me." Madara brandished his short blade, his eyes scanning the surroundings.

Clap! Clap! Clap!

In the silent forest, the sound of clapping echoed. A tall figure emerged from the shadows, clapping as he walked, saying, "No wonder you are the Uchiha clan's top genius. I almost feel a bit reluctant to kill you."

The figure stepped into the light, and Madara sized him up. He was about thirty years old, wearing ordinary ninja attire, without the Uchiha clan emblem. However, Uchiha Madara knew exactly who he was.

"The Great Elder really values me, sending a Jonin to kill a child like me." Madara's face was calm, and he felt a slight relief. Although he had never met this ninja, his perception told him that this person was not as formidable as Senju Shikamaru, just an ordinary Jonin, and he was not afraid.

"Sigh! Blame it on your excellence." The Uchiha clan's assassin, whose identity was revealed by Madara, was not bothered. Perhaps he already saw Madara as a dead man.

"Excellence also brings troubles. With power comes isolation and arrogance. Even if you were once given the greatest expectations." Uchiha Madara looked up and sighed. These words were spoken by his descendant, Uchiha Itachi, and they now described him perfectly.

"You don't seem like a child at all." The Uchiha ninja shook his head.

"Hmph! What I really want to say is that the Great Elder still underestimates me." Uchiha Madara instantly activated his Sharingan, leaped forward, and swung the Lightning Blade at the opponent.

"A single tomoe Sharingan! Let me show you what the Sharingan is." The assassin's lips curled in disdain as he activated his own Sharingan, the three tomoe slowly rotating.

"Indeed, a triple tomoe." Madara felt a slight pain in his eyes, sensing the pressure from the advanced Sharingan. He quickly averted his gaze.

Clang!

Uchiha Madara's Lightning Blade automatically blocked the opponent's ninjato.

"Such strong swordsmanship." The Uchiha Jonin praised, suddenly sheathed his blade and retreated, rapidly forming six seals.

"Fire Release: Great Fireball Technique." The Jonin spat out a massive fireball, instantly enveloping Madara.

"Is he dead?" The assassin looked at the dark surroundings, muttering to himself.

Thud!

Uchiha Madara's Lightning Blade pierced the enemy's back, and with a bang, the enemy turned into a piece of wood.

"At your age, you are the strongest ninja I have ever seen. With time, your future is limitless." The Uchiha Jonin appeared on a tree, looking down at Madara, with a hint of regret.
