Chapter 39

After the ceremony for Uchiha Madara's succession, everything that happened at the ceremony spread rapidly throughout the Land of Fire. The Sarutobi and Shimura families were furious and vowed to make the Uchiha family pay.

Senju Shizukana had already reported Uchiha Madara's thoughts to the Senju family. The Senju naturally dismissed them, but the matter of Senju Hashirama visiting the Uchiha family could not be hidden forever. He was severely reprimanded by his father, Senju Buttan, and ordered to reflect in the Senju family shrine.

Madara sat on the tatami, looking at a letter in his hand. The more he read, the darker his expression became. With a snap, he tore the letter and sneered, "They're all fools. They want to see the Uchiha in trouble, but they don't realize they'll be the ones to suffer."

"What's wrong, Madara?" Cat Fairy asked, munching on snacks, curious.

"The Ino-Shika-Cho have sent a message, refusing to form an alliance," Madara said, hands behind his head, leaning against the wall, lost in thought.

Although he had expected the alliance with the Senju to be impossible, he hadn't anticipated that the Ino-Shika-Cho would also be shortsighted. The letter still said what Nara Shikichi had mentioned: if the Senju agreed to ally with the Uchiha, they would join.

"Madara, what do you plan to do now?" Cat Fairy asked.

"Relying on others is useless. They may regret not forming an alliance now," Madara sneered.

"Humans are such a strange race. Why can't they live in peace without fighting?" Cat Fairy sighed.

"Because they only learn from pain. Without experiencing suffering, they don't know the value of peace. In short, they're all arrogant fools," Madara said disdainfully.

"..." Cat Fairy remained silent.

"Lord Madara, the Sarutobi and Shimura families have sent letters," Uchiha Yuta's voice came from outside the room.

"Come in!" Madara frowned.

Uchiha Yuta entered the room, placed the letter on Madara's desk, and stood by.

Madara opened the letter and read it quickly. The content was complex, but in summary, if the Uchiha family did not give the Sarutobi and Shimura families an explanation, the two families would jointly attack the Uchiha.

"Someone wants an explanation from me? How amusing!" Madara laughed.

"Lord Madara, did the Sarutobi and Shimura make some unreasonable demands?" Uchiha Yuta asked respectfully, though he didn't know the content of the letter. Madara had killed the envoys of the Sarutobi and Shimura families in front of dozens of clan ninjas, which was a blatant provocation.

In an era where face was more important than life, they wouldn't let it go easily.

"It's nothing, just verbal threats from the Sarutobi and Shimura. Ignore them," Madara said calmly, tearing the letter. "Yuta, I have some business to attend to for a few days. You and Gen will handle the Uchiha clan during this time. I'll leave an order. No one in the Uchiha clan is to leave until I return. If there are any issues, find Izuna. He knows how to contact me."

"Lord Madara!" Uchiha Yuta was speechless, not understanding what Madara was planning.

"I'll leave soon. Go inform Gen and bring Izuna to me," Madara said calmly.

"Yes!" Uchiha Yuta nodded and left the room.

"Madara, where are we going?" Cat Fairy asked.

"They want an explanation, I'll give them one. I hope they don't cry when the time comes!" Madara's Sharingan slowly rotated, emitting an evil red light.

"Madara, you're not going to..." Cat Fairy looked at Madara with concern, hesitating to speak.

"That's right. I said the Uchiha clan no longer needs war. This matter started because of me, so I'll bear the consequences," Madara said indifferently.

"Madara!" Cat Fairy looked at him with a complex expression, as if she were seeing him for the first time.

"Brother, Uncle Yuta said you wanted to see me?" Izuna panted as he rushed into Madara's room.

"Izuna, I have a favor to ask," Madara smiled.

"What is it?" Izuna asked curiously.

"I'll be away for a few days. During this time, you must stay in the Uchiha clan and not leave. Do you understand?" Madara said seriously.

"Eh? Brother, where are you going? Can I come with you?" Izuna was shocked and asked hurriedly.

"I have some personal matters to resolve. I'll tell you when I return," Madara smiled.

"Hmph! If you don't tell me, I won't let you go," Izuna pouted, displeased.

"Be a good boy and listen. When I return, I'll teach you ninjutsu," Madara smiled helplessly, using his trump card. But it backfired; as soon as he said it, Izuna became even more upset.

"Liar, you've said that countless times, and you never follow through," Izuna said angrily.

"Not this time," Madara smiled bitterly.

"I don't care. I won't let you leave me behind," Izuna turned away, refusing to look at Madara.

"Cat Fairy, give me the 'Secret Pen' and 'Flying Stamps'," Madara said to Cat Fairy.

"Okay!" Cat Fairy took out a pen and a stack of stamps from the fourth-dimensional space.

"Izuna, if you write a letter with this pen, only the recipient can see it. Then, stick a stamp on it, and no matter where I am, the letter will reach me. I have the same items, so we can communicate at any time," Madara handed the 'Secret Pen' and 'Flying Stamps' to Izuna.

[Flying Stamps]

Item Description: Attach this stamp to a letter, and it will automatically fly to the recipient, no matter the distance.

Item Evaluation: You have mail. Please open the door to sign for it.

"Is there really such a thing?" Izuna's eyes widened in disbelief.

"I gave you a 'Bamboo Helicopter' yesterday, and you know how to use it. So you know I'm not lying," Madara smiled.

Izuna remembered the magical bamboo helicopter his brother had given him yesterday and believed him.

"Cat Fairy, give Izuna the 'Secret Base Wallpaper' too," Madara said, still a bit uneasy.

Cat Fairy took out a roll of wallpaper and gave it to Izuna.

"You've used this before. I've stored a lot of water and food inside. I'll tell you how to use it. If you're in danger, find a secluded place and hide inside until I return," Madara explained the usage of the Secret Base Wallpaper to Izuna and earnestly instructed him.

"Brother, you must come back soon," Izuna said, knowing Madara was determined to leave, with a hint of reluctance.

"Don't worry! If anything happens to the clan, just send me a message. Also, don't tell anyone about these items or use them, including the Bamboo Helicopter. Only use them if your life is in danger," Madara said seriously. He had wanted to leave the Lightning Pill with Izuna for protection, but he only had one, and he needed it for this trip.

"Okay!" Izuna nodded firmly.
