Uchiha Madara and Senju Hashirama determined the location of the ninja village, and each returned to make arrangements. The thousands of ninja from both clans began to work together to establish the Konoha Ninja Village. Already informed, Sarutobi and Shimura Danzō also brought most of their clan's ninja to join in the construction of the village.
A month later, where there was once a forest, a cluster of buildings had already appeared. Although the forest had not been completely covered, in time, the first village of the ninja world, Konoha, would stand tall in this forest.
Madara, with his arms crossed, still stood on the cliff where he had met Hashirama that day, silently gazing at the forest that had changed so much. The establishment of Konoha also signaled that the time for him to leave was drawing near.
"Madara!" Cat Fairy looked at him with some concern. Recently, Madara had been increasingly busy, and although she didn't know what he was planning, it was certainly not a simple matter.
"What's wrong?" Madara turned his head to look at Cat Fairy on his shoulder.
Just as Cat Fairy was about to speak, footsteps came from behind. Turning around, she saw Senju Hashirama approaching.
"Madara, the Inuzuka, Nara, and Akimichi clans have joined us. Their leaders want to meet you," Hashirama said with a smile as he came to stand beside Madara.
"No!" Madara refused without hesitation.
"I thought you and the Inuzuka, Nara, and Akimichi clans had a good relationship. I remember when we were young, you wanted to form an alliance with them, but they seemed to refuse. Are you still holding a grudge?" Hashirama grinned, deliberately provoking Madara.
"I won't drive them out of the village, and I won't meet them. They mean nothing to me!" Madara glanced at Hashirama and said calmly.
"..." Hashirama looked deeply at Madara, his eyes filled with complex emotions.
The two fell silent. Hashirama gazed at the distant forest and sighed, "Madara, our village is finally built!"
"Far from it!" Madara said calmly.
"Right! The construction of the village will now enter the main phase." Hashirama nodded in agreement.
"..." Madara remained silent.
"I thought you would ask me how to proceed next," Hashirama said weakly.
"This is your village. You decide what it will be like." Madara said calmly, though he was one of the founders of Konoha, he never considered himself a Konoha ninja.
"I plan to carve a giant Hokage face on the rock below as a symbol to protect the village." Hearing Madara's words, Hashirama's eyes showed a hint of sadness, but he smiled.
"Good!" Madara glanced down at the rock where he was standing, which would become the symbol of Konoha—the Hokage Rock.
"Madara, if you become Hokage, your face will be carved on the rock, revered by all. Such a glorious thing, shouldn't you consider it?" Hashirama stared intently at Madara, trying to persuade him to accept the position of Hokage.
"I'm used to a low profile. Leave such a showy thing to you." Madara said nonchalantly.
"Madara, what do you really want? As friends and allies, we should be honest with each other." Hashirama's gaze fixed on Madara, trying to read his thoughts, but Madara remained calm and composed.
"Hashirama, we've known each other for a long time. You should know that honesty doesn't exist!" Madara said calmly.
"How can that be! If you don't tell me, how can I help you?" Hashirama countered.
"Is that so!" Madara lowered his eyelids and said no more.
Just as Hashirama was about to speak, footsteps came from behind.
"Why are you still wasting time here? The daimyos of the Fire Country are coming for a meeting." Tobirama ran up to the Hokage Rock, seeing his brother and Madara, and shouted.
Madara turned and glanced at Tobirama, then said to Hashirama, "The position of Hokage is yours. There's no need to recommend me. I will never be Hokage, no matter what."
Madara and Cat Fairy disappeared from the rock.
"Madara!" Hashirama's gaze was complex. He had always considered Madara a like-minded friend, and thought that after Konoha was established, Madara would help him protect it. Although Madara didn't say it outright, Hashirama could sense something.
"Brother, let's go quickly!" Tobirama, seeing his brother standing there in a daze, frowned. He had long known about Madara.
From a young age, he had believed that Madara was not a good person. Although Madara's actions seemed noble, Tobirama had deep prejudices against the Uchiha clan, especially since Madara had killed his own father to become the leader of the Uchiha. Now, Madara's refusal of the Hokage position only confirmed Tobirama's belief that Madara had ulterior motives.
After the meeting, Hashirama became the sole nominee for Hokage because Madara had refused the position. After several attempts to persuade Madara, Hashirama knew that Madara would not be Hokage and had to accept the position himself. However, the high and powerful position did not make him happy.
"Brother, are you still thinking about Madara?" Tobirama, seeing his brother's dejected expression, already knew his thoughts.
"Tobirama, I always thought Madara and I shared the same dream. We sacrificed so much for this dream. Now that the village is finally established and our dream has come true, he is leaving." Hashirama sighed deeply.
"Brother, what Madara wants to do is his own business. If he really wants to leave, there's no point in forcing him." Tobirama's eyes flickered as he said calmly.
"..." Hashirama glanced at his brother and silently walked towards their residence.
"Madara!" Tobirama narrowed his eyes, guessing what Madara might be planning.
Madara and Cat Fairy appeared in a neat room, with a large Uchiha fan emblem on the wall. The room was spacious and well-furnished.
This was his residence in Konoha. Compared to the dilapidated house he used to live in, it was like a palace compared to a hut. However, he preferred his old, sparsely furnished home. Although this place was comfortable, it felt strange to him.
By now, nearly a thousand Uchiha clan members had all moved to Konoha. Their former base had been destroyed, and the new Uchiha base was very grand, the first and most luxurious building complex in Konoha, even more luxurious than the Senju clan's base.
Madara knew that Hashirama felt guilty and wanted to compensate him, and Tobirama did not oppose it. On the contrary, he supported his brother wholeheartedly, building the Uchiha base to resemble an ancient imperial palace.
Madara was well aware of Tobirama's intentions, but he had his own plans.
Although the Senju clan had some dissatisfaction, their leaders did not oppose it, so their objections were meaningless. As for the Sarutobi and Shimura clan members, although they were very envious, they did not dare to oppose.
Now, the name Uchiha Madara was synonymous with the Grim Reaper, and anyone who heard it would tremble.
