Chapter 73

Boom!!!

Susano'o gripped the hilt of his sword with both hands and plunged it into the ground, causing a strong gust of wind to scatter countless rocks.

"Come out, you coward!" Uchiha Madara's chakra formed a blue storm, and Susano'o's sword instantly cut through the earth with a loud boom, creating a deep, bottomless canyon.

"The enemy is underground!" Hashirama Senju's eyes narrowed, and he clasped his hands together. His eyes turned red, and a red circle with a red dot appeared on his forehead.

"We will be responsible for reconnaissance to prevent the enemy from escaping," Tobirama said, relieved that Shisui had not used Susano'o.

"Aren't you the one who claims to be the best at sensing? Now you don't even know where the enemy is!" Shisui mocked.

"..." Tobirama silently stared at the battlefield ahead, unsure if the enemy was real. If an enemy could escape his senses, it would not be an ordinary opponent.

The forest outside Konoha had already been devastated by the combined efforts of Uchiha Madara and Hashirama Senju.

"I found it!" Hashirama's eyes lit up, and with a boom, several large trees suddenly sprouted from the ground.

"Amaterasu!" Shisui aimed his left eye at the only tree within ten miles, and with a whoosh, the tree was instantly set ablaze.

In a moment, the black flames reduced the tree to ashes but continued to burn, scorching everything around it.

"There really is an enemy!" Tobirama's eyes narrowed as he finally sensed the chakra and shouted, "Three o'clock direction!"

Shisui was about to use Amaterasu again, but with a boom, a blade of light that split the sky had already struck.

"Finally, you've come out!" Madara, standing inside Susano'o, crossed his arms and looked at the front indifferently.

"Is he dead?" Shisui stared at the distant crater, muttering to himself.

"No!" Tobirama shook his head solemnly; the chakra had disappeared again.

"I won't let you destroy what Madara and I have worked so hard for!" Hashirama looked in the direction of Konoha, clasped his hands, and shouted, "Wood Style — Forest of the Living Dead!"

Rumble!

Countless towering trees rose around Konoha, instantly surrounding it with a forest.

"Even though I don't know who you are, I have already seen through your jutsu. Within thirty miles, whether on the ground or underground, everything is covered by my Wood Style. As soon as you get close, I will sense you! You have nowhere to run!" Hashirama laughed loudly.

"I've found you!" Tobirama aimed at the front of the forest and instantly threw the kunai in his hand, grabbing Shisui and disappearing from the spot.

"Amaterasu!" Although surprised that Tobirama could use his brother's ability, Shisui's eyes were quick. As soon as they appeared, his left eye emitted the flames of Amaterasu, instantly consuming everything in front of him.

The enemy finally appeared!

Shisui was about to chase after it but was held back by Tobirama.

"What are you doing now?" Shisui asked angrily.

"He can't escape! Look for yourself!" Tobirama said with a smile.

Shisui looked up and saw that Madara's Susano'o had already appeared in front of the enemy.

"What should I call you?" Madara stood inside Susano'o, looking indifferently at the strange human-like creature in front of him. It was completely black, blending into the night, with sharp teeth and eyes like bells, extremely ugly, and resembled a human monster.

The black creature instantly burrowed into the ground and quickly reappeared, but several giant trees tightly bound its body.

"Don't underestimate the Hokage!" Hashirama clasped his hands and said with a smile.

"Truly remarkable! Four monsters attacking me alone." The black creature finally spoke, his tone mocking, seemingly unafraid.

"I think you're the monster! Can you reveal your identity?" Hashirama laughed.

"Hashirama Senju, I am not your enemy; the one beside you is. You should know that, right?" The black creature pointed at Madara inside Susano'o and laughed.

"Hmph!" Shisui, hearing the insult to his brother, was about to use Amaterasu but was held back by Tobirama.

"Do you believe that monster's words?" Shisui's Eternal Mangekyou Sharingan stared at Tobirama.

"Shisui, the enemy can't escape now. Let's not rush to kill him; we need to gather some useful information," Tobirama said calmly.

"Hmph!" Shisui shook off Tobirama's left hand and glared at the black creature.

"Such a cliché provocation, don't use it anymore. Just reveal your identity!" Hashirama laughed.

"Do you think I'm lying to you!" The black creature also laughed.

"Madara is my lifelong friend. Who do you think I should believe?" Hashirama said calmly.

"Hmph! Madara is leaving Konoha today. Do you think he has a reason to leave?" The black creature sneered.

"Hmm?" Hashirama narrowed his eyes; this was the question he wanted to ask Madara, but he didn't expect so much to happen.

"Let me tell you! When he returns, he will destroy Konoha! If you don't believe me, you can ask him. I believe Madara won't lie to you!" The black creature said indifferently.

"Find death!" Shisui, enraged, instantly activated Amaterasu, but Hashirama's Wood Style blocked it.

"Shisui, don't kill him yet!" Madara instantly appeared on the ground and said calmly.

"Brother?" Shisui asked in surprise.

The Ultimate Susano'o, having lost Madara's chakra, collapsed with a boom.

"Madara, is what he said true?" Hashirama asked in a low voice.

"Would you believe me if I said it was false?" Madara laughed.

"Yes!" Hashirama nodded without hesitation.

"True!"
