Chapter 7: Fatigue

5 min read1,319 words

When giving a cat a bath, it's best not to use human bath products, as cats will lick the residue off their fur, which could cause gastrointestinal discomfort. Absolutely do not use shampoo to bathe your cat! Residual shampoo can damage the cat's stomach.

However, the children in Li Shenxing's home all have good temperaments and do not have the habit of scratching or biting. Instead, they close their eyes and seem to enjoy it.

"Xiaopang! Look at you all, you're the fattest." Wet fur makes the body shape more noticeable, and Xiaopang's belly is quite round, much bigger than the others!

"Alright, not too fat, Oppa. When did you last take them for a check-up?"

"It's been about half a year. When should we take them for a check-up?"

"Maybe in the next couple of days. I'll arrange the time."

After saying that, he took a bottle of shampoo from the side, opened it, and poured it into his hand.

Do not get the shampoo in the cat's eyes, nose, mouth, or ears. If you are bathing the cat to remove fleas, wet the cat's neck first. Fleas will move to dry areas, and the wet neck will make them flee from the cat's head. Then, wet the rest of the body.

Rinse the shampoo off with clean water, rinse 2-3 times until there are no more bubbles. Squeeze the water out of the cat's fur with your hands, then dry it with a towel. The cat bath is complete.

Note: Indoor cats should be bathed 2-3 times a month, while outdoor cats should be bathed 1-2 times a month. Do not bathe cats under three months old, but it's important to get them used to baths early, as it becomes difficult to bathe them when they are older.

Mimi, Xiaopang, and the others are very well-behaved during baths, staying still no matter what.

Li Shenxing and Hyo-ri are very skilled. One person holds the cat by the arms, while the other rubs the water off the cat's body and then dries it with a towel.

After giving them a bath, Li Shenxing and Xiao Li use a hairdryer to dry their fur one by one to prevent them from catching a cold. In the summer, you can let them air dry.

"Phew~! So tired~!" After giving the children a bath, Hyo-ri collapsed on the sofa.

Li Shenxing patted her thigh, "Turn around, I'll give you a massage."

"Oppa is so nice." She immediately turned over, waiting for Li Shenxing to massage her.

"Oh... so comfortable... oh..." Hyo-ri purred contentedly on the sofa.

Hyo-ri often travels, spending much of her time in the car, even sleeping there. This has caused her neck and lumbar vertebrae to become fatigued, and her legs have been damaged to varying degrees due to dancing. When Hyo-ri is at home, Li Shenxing usually gives her massages to relax her muscles and treat her injuries.

In the early years, when her condition was more severe, Li Shenxing used a medicinal wine he prepared according to an old recipe to assist with the massages. Compared to those times, Hyo-ri's body is much better now.

Over the years, Li Shenxing has continuously prepared medicinal soups to help Hyo-ri adjust her body. As a prominent star, the price she pays is a busy schedule, little sleep, and irregular hours, along with the hidden injuries from constant dancing.

After a long period of adjustment and care, Hyo-ri's physical condition is now quite good. She no longer has dark circles under her eyes, her skin has a healthy glow, and her mental state is also good. Many people who are unaware say that Hyo-ri has become more beautiful because of the nourishment of love.

After the massage, Li Shenxing turned the drowsy Hyo-ri over and laid her down, then held her ankle and began to massage her feet.

According to traditional Chinese medicine, the five organs and six腑 (fu) organs of the human body are projected onto the feet, which have over sixty acupoints. Regularly massaging these points can promote the circulation of qi and blood, balance yin and yang, dilate blood vessels, and warm the organs, thereby preventing and treating diseases.

Foot massage can significantly stimulate the reflex zones of various parts of the body, making the blood circulation smooth and eliminating waste and toxins accumulated in the body. This ensures that the metabolism functions normally, ultimately achieving a therapeutic effect.

"Phew~... purr... phew... purr..."

While massaging her feet, Li Shenxing heard a soft snore.

"She's asleep." He muttered softly.

Li Shenxing took a blanket from the other side of the sofa, covered Hyo-ri, and then left the living room for the kitchen.

Since Hyo-ri is now asleep, she won't have time for lunch, so Li Shenxing decided to make a bento for her to take.

The most common bento in Korea is seaweed rice rolls, which are easy to make, convenient to carry, and suitable for all ages.

Although it's a simple seaweed rice roll, the ingredients are very rich.

Li Shenxing first washed the rice and put it in the pot to cook. He took the ingredients from the refrigerator: basic ingredients like cucumber, carrot, and yellow radish strips. He also took out a piece of beef, cut it into strips, and marinated it with rice wine, sesame oil, soy sauce, pepper, and garlic for ten minutes.

He cut the green onions and onions into strips, and also shredded the cucumber and carrot. Usually, these are cut into strips, but Li Shenxing thought that shredding them would make them taste better.

While waiting, Li Shenxing took out a non-stick pan, heated it, and added oil. He then put the shredded carrot in the pan to stir-fry.

Carotene is a fat-soluble substance that must be dissolved in oil to be absorbed by the human body. Therefore, when cooking carrots, use more oil (carrots absorb a lot of oil), and it's best to cook them with meat. Do not eat them raw, as raw carrots are difficult to digest and absorb, with 90% of the carotene being excreted without being absorbed. Cook the carrots for a short time to reduce the loss of vitamin C.

After stir-frying the carrots, he took them out and put the marinated beef in the pan to stir-fry. Once cooked, he added the sliced green onions and onions and continued to stir-fry until the moisture was gone.

He scooped the cooked rice into a large bowl, added some sesame oil, sesame seeds, salt, and sushi vinegar, and mixed them well. He placed a sheet of seaweed on a rolling mat, spread the rice on it, leaving a one-inch gap at the top.

He placed two sesame leaves on the rice, then added the stir-fried beef, shredded cucumber, shredded carrot, and yellow radish strips, and rolled it up. He then cut it into pieces and arranged them in the bento box.

He took another bento box, washed some strawberries, and placed them inside as a dessert, as women need to eat fruit daily to supplement various vitamins.

Li Shenxing made two extra seaweed rice rolls for his lunch, saving the trouble of making more.

In the afternoon, after Hyo-ri left for her schedule, Li Shenxing stayed home to write a script.

October 26th, Overcast

Today is Hyo-ri's day off, with no schedule, so they plan to take the children to a nearby pet hospital for a check-up.

After Hyo-ri woke up naturally, they had breakfast, changed into their outdoor clothes, and wore matching couple's casual hoodies.

They put the children in their respective cat carriers, placed them in the back seat of the car, and drove out.

About ten minutes later, Li Shenxing and Hyo-ri arrived at a small pet hospital.

After parking the car, they got out with the cat carriers, pushed open the glass door, and walked in.
