Chapter 8

The login bonus was a "Universal Medal," a purple medal.

Its usage is unknown, a mysterious medal. Apart from being made of metal, nothing else is known about it. I thought there might be some pattern engraved on it based on past experiences, but it was plain and unadorned.

However, it differs from previous coins in that it is polished to a shine, reflecting light brilliantly.

Given its name, it must have some value, but I really have no idea how to use it.

I considered using it to spin the gacha, but the coin slot was too small for it. I decided to put it aside for now.

More importantly, the food supply has finally run out. Unfortunately, I finished the char siu.

I'm not particularly fat. Starvation is just a matter of time. So,

it's time for the free gacha.

Please, give me food!

The capsule that came out was a brilliant gold.

SR! It's been since Van Gogh's Sunflowers.

Please, let it be a full French course, a bento box, a whole fresh tuna, or some black Wagyu beef!

SSR Divine Sword Aegis

It appeared as if it had been thrust into the ground.

A pure white sword. One glance and you can tell how high-class it is.

The tip of the sword sparkles, polished so meticulously that my face is reflected in it like a mirror.

The hilt is adorned with metal flowers, with several intricate cream-colored flowers in bloom.

SSR. It must be rarer than SR. It's the rarest item I've ever gotten. Can't they make the capsule color different?

I tried to pick up and pull out the Aegis, and a system window unfolded around the sword.

The Divine Sword Aegis is a female-only equipment. Males cannot equip it.

...Speechless

What is this? The world has changed completely.

It's suddenly turned into a fantasy. Flower Goddess, higher believers, and all that. It was a panic game, and now it's suddenly a fantasy. The genre is different.

And the flood of edited content. I can't understand anything important.

But the buffs, huh.

I had a vague feeling that this was a game, with the login bonus and the operators and users, but I didn't expect this to be a real game?

A new theory was born: I'm a test subject in a VRMMO.

But, more importantly.

The Divine Sword Aegis is a female-only equipment. Males cannot equip it.

What the hell does that mean?

Glossary

‘Edited’

Information that users are not yet allowed to know. It will be revealed by increasing the information permission level through achievements or other means.

‘Universal Medal’

A purple medal made of some kind of metal. It is polished to a shine and has no scratches.

It's unclear what makes it "universal." It's currently placed in the junk corner of the room.

‘Divine Sword Aegis’

A divine sword, meaning a sword imbued with divine power. It grants buffs such as increased healing, status ailment resistance, and increased defense to the user and party members.

Aegis, I believe, was a shield in Greek mythology. Naming a sword after a shield suggests either great confidence in its defensive capabilities or just the operators trying to make it sound cool. I lean towards the latter.
