Chapter 6

"Uh? Is that all there is?" The environment inside the secret room was completely different from the outside, presenting a metallic hue with no signs of age. On a metal platform in the center of the room, several bottles of potion were placed.

A faint light enveloped the metal platform, which dissipated as Sihai Guiyi and the others approached.

Sihai Guiyi counted the potions, and the number matched exactly with the number of people. He scratched his head, "This number is just right."

As he said this, he picked up one of the bottles and examined it, immediately showing a look of pleasant surprise, "Boss! This is a good thing!!"

These potions were specifically for enhancing the body, and they were marked with a special attribute that would remain even outside the beta test. In this game, each person could only have one account, so once used, there was no worry about not receiving such a reward.

"Good stuff!" The boss also praised it sincerely. This potion not only enhanced the body but also had a chance to develop special abilities. Special abilities...

During the beta test, they had seen some peculiar NPCs who possessed very powerful abilities, which made them quite envious. However, there was no way to learn these abilities, and the beta test period was too short.

Now, a good opportunity was right in front of them?

As for Zhengchen, they had long forgotten about him. He was just an NPC... If he followed in, it would mean one more person, and the potions wouldn't be enough to share. It was better for him not to be there, one potion per person.

"Is it an earthquake?" One of the players who received a potion looked around in confusion.

"Never mind that, the beta test time is almost up, let's quickly use this and log out!" Without hesitation, the boss opened the bottle and drank it all in one go.

Earthquake!?

Zhengchen, who was following the route to leave, showed a rare look of discomfort on his face. The environment was the same as when he came in, but the more he walked, the more he felt something was wrong. All the marks he left along the way had disappeared, as if the place had been completely renovated.

Not only that, but the traps that should have been deactivated had reappeared, and there were other changes as well. It was as if he had entered a new passage, greatly slowing his progress.

Fortunately, the difficulty of these traps was not high, and in some ways, it was even lower than before. Was it because of the number of people?

Zhengchen had a slight realization, but seeing the dust falling from the ceiling, he did not slow down. There was still a long distance to the exit, and if any part collapsed, he would be trapped here.

"Flat?"

Breathing heavily, Zhengchen looked at the long, straight corridor in front of him, puzzled. Wasn't this place supposed to have an incline?

After reaching the second dangerous spot, Zhengchen slowed down, looking around. He reached out to touch the surroundings, but the previous indented areas were gone... and his touch revealed some strange spots.

There seemed to be a stone brick that could be pressed?

The earthquake became more intense, and Zhengchen suspected that the place might collapse at any moment!

After a moment of hesitation, he pressed the stone brick on the wall. The mechanisms he had encountered before were hidden, but this one seemed to open something, so it probably wasn't a trap... but he immediately regretted it.

As the stone brick was pressed, a stone door flipped open on the wall, revealing a space inside, a particularly secret room?

Looking at the map in his hand, a secret room appearing at a dangerous spot? Another secret room? Two strange metal skeletons appeared, which were likely robots.

Zhengchen took two steps back and glanced at the metal platform behind the two metal skeletons, where a ball-like object was placed. It seemed he would have to bypass or defeat the two metal skeletons to get it.

Without hesitation, Zhengchen dodged the punches of the two metal skeletons and ran!

What a joke, where was there time for this now? These iron lumps looked very tough, and it was more important to quickly leave this place that seemed ready to collapse at any moment.

However, the two metal skeletons did not intend to let Zhengchen go. As he moved, they followed, and as he left the secret room, a loud boom echoed, and the room was crushed by something!

The entire corridor shook violently.

"What is this..." Seeing the various metal monsters continuously running out of the collapsed secret room, Zhengchen's face turned almost black. The two metal skeletons at the front were normal types, but the ones that followed were increasingly exaggerated!

Zhengchen even saw a half-meter thick metal tail extend from the collapsed secret room door, easily sweeping the nearby metal monsters into scrap.

The two metal skeletons were also swept aside by the more powerful metal monsters behind them, and all the metal monsters targeted Zhengchen.

Staring at the turning point ahead, Zhengchen gritted his teeth and increased his speed. The first dangerous spot was just ahead, and there might be something else...

Due to the earthquake, the traps here seemed to have failed. Zhengchen passed through without encountering anything, but not far away, a new boom echoed, similar to the sound of the secret room collapsing.

There was also a secret room at this dangerous spot!

Looking back, one of the metal monsters in the corridor corner was swinging its tail at Zhengchen. The tail opened, and a missile with a tail flame rapidly approached him.

Without hesitation, Zhengchen threw the short knife in his hand. Even though he reacted quickly, the missile still exploded very close to him. Zhengchen was thrown into a quicksand pit by the fire wave as he rolled on the ground.

Feeling the ground shake, Zhengchen did not struggle much. Even if he hadn't fallen into the quicksand pit, the explosion would have left him severely injured, and he couldn't avoid the metal monsters chasing him.

Forget it, maybe this is just a dream, and I'll wake up soon... he thought to comfort himself.

After being swallowed by the quicksand, Zhengchen felt a brief suffocation, and the pressure on his body suddenly disappeared.

Another secret room?

The entire room was shaking. Zhengchen moved his fingers slightly, and the wounds were full of fine sand, which was very painful. The bamboo tube he carried had been damaged by the explosion and then crushed, spilling all the water inside. The wet sand grinding into his wounds made him feel even worse.

This shaking secret room was not very safe either. Struggling to get up, Zhengchen looked at the center of the room.

Unlike the previous secret room, the object in the center of this one was not on a metal platform.

There was a metal sphere floating in a cylindrical glass container. The glass column, fixed in the center of the secret room, was now covered with cracks, which intensified with the shaking. Before Zhengchen could approach, the entire glass column shattered into pieces.

The metal sphere inside fell to the ground and rolled to Zhengchen's feet.

It probably... wasn't a good thing. It looked magical when it was floating, but now it was just a regular iron ball rolling around.

Reaching out to grab the metal sphere, it was light and even felt a bit too light. Zhengchen didn't throw it away immediately, thinking it might be useful in an emergency, perhaps as a throwing object.

Dragging his tired body, Zhengchen searched for an exit in the secret room. He must have fallen from above, but looking up, he saw no exit. As the shaking intensified, the walls of the secret room were covered with cracks, and light was visible through the cracks, revealing the landscape outside.

There were new secret rooms connected outside this secret room, but they were also collapsing. But where was the exit?

And what about the metal sphere he was holding?

In just a blink, the fist-sized metal sphere mysteriously disappeared. Looking at his hand, there was no abnormality. Zhengchen shook his head and moved toward the wall with the largest crack.

The shape of the crack was different from the random cracks elsewhere, vaguely resembling a door. As soon as his fingers touched a small crack, Zhengchen quickly pulled his hand back, and a new blood mark appeared on his already injured fingers.

These cracks had an abnormal cutting power.

Taking a deep breath, Zhengchen pressed his hand on the center of the door-shaped crack. His hand was immediately covered with fine blood marks, and the door-shaped crack fell outward.

This was indeed a door. Due to the shaking of the secret room, the structure of the door was damaged, and it collapsed with a slight external force. Looking at his hand, which was now showing white bone, Zhengchen's body swayed. He needed to leave quickly; he didn't know how long he could hold on.

"..." Stumbling out of the secret room, Zhengchen almost fell due to the intensified earthquake. Seeing that he was not far from the exit, he breathed a sigh of relief.

The corridor behind him had already collapsed, and the mechanical monsters were trapped under the debris, temporarily isolated.

Without delay, Zhengchen, with his increasingly heavy body, ran as fast as he could. The light ahead became dimmer, and he rubbed his eyes, breathing heavily. As he ran out of the corridor, the world went dark, and he almost fell to the ground.

It was still not safe here; he needed to move forward a bit more.

The sky was covered with thick, heavy clouds, and just looking up made him feel an overwhelming pressure. This apocalyptic scene made Zhengchen quickly focus his attention back. He found an open area and lay down. The strong vibrations on the ground made him want to vomit, but it was better than being buried at any moment.

Let me rest for a moment...
