"Duofu, let's go!" Old Qin called out, and a cute and obedient pug quickly ran over from behind, rubbing against Old Qin's feet. This pug was the one Qin Chuan had brought home that night. However, its wound had already fully healed. It had recovered so quickly that such a large wound had healed cleanly. Old Qin and his wife had been praising the dog for its resilience.

The pug had a golden coat, and its eyes were full of spirit, making it very understanding. Old Qin liked it very much. Many of the old friends in the park had dogs. Old Qin had always wanted to keep one too. But he was worried about the hygiene of keeping a dog at home. Just as Qin Chuan brought one back, and it was so cute, Old Qin couldn't bear to give it away.

"Old Qin, your dog looks very spirited," Old Liu, Old Qin's good friend, said with a smile.

"You're the one who looks spirited," Old Qin retorted, not one to be easily outdone.

Old Liu laughed heartily, "You, Old Qin, can't take a joke. I was talking about your dog. It really looks very spirited, and its coat is great. By the way, I didn't hear that you had a dog before?"

"We didn't have one. The other day, my son found a dog on his way home from work. It was injured, and my son bandaged it up. Once it recovered, it wouldn't leave. I thought the dog was quite smart, so I decided to keep it. If the owner comes looking for it, we'll return it," Old Qin explained.

"Return it? If you can't even take care of a dog, why keep one? This dog is very human-like and knows who is good to it. Look, it already considers you its owner," Old Liu said.

Old Qin nodded and said, "You're right, this dog is very human-like and obedient. I would really be reluctant to give it back to its original owner."

Qin Chuan had just entered the emergency room when he happened to see Wu Xiaoming coming in as well.

"Doctor Qin, can I take a look at the electronic medical records of the emergency department?" Wu Xiaoming asked Qin Chuan with apparent enthusiasm.

Qin Chuan was quite surprised and didn't speak for a moment.

Wu Xiaoming smiled, "Don't look at me like that. I admit I was very emotional when I first started here. But after being here for so many days and causing a lot of trouble, I've reflected on my behavior. I'm ready to work hard and do things properly. If I did anything wrong before, please forgive me. How about this, after work tonight, I'll treat everyone to dinner. I haven't had a chance to get to know everyone well since I came to the emergency department. I hope you'll all come. Qin Chuan, you know everyone best. Can you help me inform everyone?"

"Sure. But I'm on duty tonight, so I can't go. I'll inform everyone in the department, though," Qin Chuan said.

Wu Xiaoming then said, "Doctor Qin, I'm new to the emergency department and not very familiar with the work here. I want to look at some of the medical records. I heard you're very good at summarizing and analyzing cases. Could I learn from some of the electronic medical records you have?"

"No problem. Actually, you can just open your computer and look at the shared documents in our department. All the patients' records are in there," Qin Chuan said.

"Oh, right. I got a bit confused there. Okay, if I have any questions later, I'll definitely ask you," Wu Xiaoming said.

Outside, the 120 ambulance brought in two critical patients, and Qin Chuan hurried out. He Kangxiao and Gao Zhanting were already there to receive them.

"What's the situation?" Qin Chuan asked.

"Car accident victims, a couple. They were in a three-car collision on the Second Ring Road, driving a farm tricycle. The female patient has severe abdominal pain and low blood pressure, requiring immediate blood transfusion. The male patient has very low blood pressure, a deformed and bleeding right knee, and multiple areas of swelling and pain in the right hip, thigh, knee, and calf, unable to move. We have already provided initial bandaging," Gao Zhanting said.

"Have you contacted the surgeons and orthopedists?" Qin Chuan asked.

"We've already contacted the second and third-line surgeons and the second-line orthopedist. They are on their way," Gao Zhanting said.

"Then let's prepare for the initial treatment. Maintain the patients' vital signs and perform the necessary tests. Once the surgeons and orthopedists arrive, we'll start the treatment immediately," Qin Chuan said.

Qin Chuan handled the situation very calmly and meticulously. His actions surprised even Gao Zhanting, who had been in the emergency department for several years. In terms of handling the situation, she found herself less proficient than Qin Chuan today. His use of medications was also more decisive and quick. If it weren't for the slight unfamiliarity in his techniques, Gao Zhanting would have thought Qin Chuan was a veteran doctor in the emergency department.

"Hey, Qin Chuan, you really stood out today. It seems you're really cut out for the emergency department. In just a few months, you're already outshining the old guard," Gao Zhanting said after the patients' conditions stabilized.

"Sure, people who know me always say I'm smart and learn quickly..." Qin Chuan chuckled.

"Hey! Flattery will get you nowhere. Alright, keep an eye on things here. Once the surgeons and orthopedists arrive, we'll start the surgery," Gao Zhanting said.

Although they were joking around, they didn't neglect their duties. A few minutes later, the head of the surgery department, Pan Jieyun, and the orthopedic expert, Li Yigang, arrived.

By this time, the CT results were already out.

Pan Jieyun looked at the images and, considering the patient's condition, immediately determined, "Intra-abdominal organ damage and bleeding. Immediate surgery is required! Send her to the operating room."

Qin Chuan and Gao Zhanting immediately helped the nurses transport the female patient to the operating room.

"Have you rotated through the surgery department?" Pan Jieyun asked.

"I rotated for a few months, but I didn't get many opportunities to operate," Qin Chuan said.

"Any experience is good. Today is a weekend, and we have few people in the surgery department. You can be my assistant," Pan Jieyun said.

"Me?" Qin Chuan was somewhat surprised.

"Yes. Your handling was excellent. Come on. The patient's condition is not good. We need to act quickly."

"Okay," Qin Chuan agreed.

Once they opened the patient's abdomen, they indeed found that her liver was ruptured and bleeding severely, with some fragments. The abdominal bleeding was very serious.

"Close call. Fortunately, you handled it well. Otherwise, it would have been a major problem," Pan Jieyun said.

Qin Chuan could also see the patient's critical condition. It was truly a life-and-death situation. Although the surgery wasn't over yet, they had at least pulled the patient back from the brink. The rest was about gradually bringing the patient back to life.

Pan Jieyun, being the top surgeon, performed the surgery flawlessly, completing it in just over an hour.

"The bleeding was too severe. It was a close call. If you hadn't handled it well, it would have been too late," Pan Jieyun said.

"It's all thanks to Dr. Pan's expertise. I just provided some assistance," Qin Chuan said.

"You're a good young man. I didn't expect to find such an excellent young doctor in the emergency department," Pan Jieyun said.

"Our doctors in the emergency department are all very excellent," Qin Chuan said.

"Haha, that's great. It seems rotating Xiao Wu to your department was the right decision," Pan Jieyun said.

The patient was naturally transferred to the surgery department. As Qin Chuan was about to leave, Pan Jieyun suddenly asked, "Qin Chuan, are you interested in joining our surgery department?"

"Dr. Pan, even if I wanted to, it might not be easy to get in," Qin Chuan didn't answer directly.

Pan Jieyun thought for a moment. It wasn't a simple matter. He sighed and said, "We'll see. Just remember what I said."
