Chapter 1

【Fate Coin used successfully!】

【Obtained Mythical Quality Unique Item —— Regret Potion!】

Is even the heavens giving him another chance?

Lu Li, his face covered in blood, managed a smile and, with his last ounce of strength, swallowed the potion.

Living again, all the traitors must die!!

【Data panel generated, global apocalypse will begin in ten seconds, please all players prepare!】

A cold voice echoed in everyone's mind.

Lu Li suddenly looked up, and what met his eyes was the familiar classroom.

The regret potion worked, he really came back!

At this moment, the students in the class were looking at each other with puzzled faces.

"Hey, did you hear any strange sound just now?"

"Damn, you heard it too? I thought I was the only one..."

"Global apocalypse? I just finished today's homework!"

"Hahaha, forget the test, my awakened ability is Lightning Arrow! Diamond tier!! Invincible hahaha!!"

"Damn, what bad luck! My talent ability is Scouting, only Iron tier..."

"Scouting? Iron tier?"

Lu Li turned his head at the sound and saw Xing Anlin, who sat by the window, complaining with a sad face.

If his memory served him right, this person would be killed by a monster in the first second of the apocalypse!

Sure enough,

Before the unlucky guy could finish his sentence, the sound of shattering glass suddenly came.

A mantis-like monster, about the size of a child, rushed into the classroom, swinging its blade-like arms and slicing off most of Xing Anlin's head!

The originally noisy classroom suddenly fell silent.

"Mon... monster..."

"Head... half a head gone..."

"It's turning around..."

Greater panic erupted in the class, and the students scrambled to the classroom door in a chaotic rush.

Lu Li, however, advanced instead of retreating, slowly approaching the mantis monster.

He recognized the monster in front of him—

Blade Arm Mantis!

As the first monster to appear when the apocalypse game began, the Blade Arm Mantis, though possessing terrifying killing power, was actually quite fragile.

Just attacking its slender neck could easily kill it.

Lu Li, who had lived once before, understood this and was now ready to attack with a chair.

Before he could act, a dazzling Lightning Arrow hit the Blade Arm Mantis's face.

Lu Li was taken aback and immediately put down the chair.

He almost forgot about Zhao Hui, the lucky one who awakened a Diamond tier ability.

"Get out of the way, watch my Lightning Arrow!"

Zhao Hui, seeing his attack take effect, the fear in his eyes instantly turned to extreme arrogance.

He was a genius who awakened a Diamond tier ability!

The mantis monster was nothing to fear!

Unfortunately, Zhao Hui didn't know the Blade Arm Mantis's weakness was in its neck.

The Lightning Arrow he threw not only failed to kill the monster but also enraged it.

Seeing the Blade Arm Mantis charge fiercely, Zhao Hui could only keep throwing Lightning Arrows to block it.

Sparks flew, and the classroom instantly turned into a chaotic mess.

Lu Li took this opportunity to quietly approach Xing Anlin's corpse.

It wasn't that he had any perverse desires; rather, Lu Li's awakened ability was very special—

[Soul Devour].

This ability could not be used on living beings and had no tier rating.

In his previous life, Lu Li thought he had awakened a useless ability, but later he discovered that Soul Devour was extremely powerful.

Because it could devour the souls of corpses!

Ignoring levels and tiers!

As long as it was a corpse, Lu Li could devour its soul and convert it into Soul Points!

Plundering talents, making them his own!

At this moment, Lu Li had already placed his hand on Xing Anlin's corpse.

Ability activated!

[Devoured Level 0 player soul, Soul Points +1]

[Plundered ability —— Scouting (Iron)]

[Retain soul consciousness (Yes/No)]

Lu Li pondered for a moment and chose Yes.

Devouring human souls had a chance to retain consciousness.

Xing Anlin was a decent person, and there was no need to erase his consciousness in this life.

When his Soul Points were strong enough, perhaps he could refine Xing Anlin into a Soul Guard to assist him.

With this thought, Lu Li turned his gaze to the nearby area.

Truly worthy of a Diamond tier ability.

Even though Zhao Hui's aim was terrible and he never hit the Blade Arm Mantis's weak point, his relentless attacks had left the monster with missing limbs and severe injuries.

In the end, with a mournful cry, the Blade Arm Mantis died.

Seeing the battle end, Lu Li immediately approached the corpse.

His Soul Devour ability could be used not only on human corpses but also on monster corpses.

[Devoured Level 1 monster soul, Soul Points +2]

[Plundered ability —— Blade Arm (Bronze)]

Unlike humans, monster souls typically had no option to retain consciousness.

Lu Li thought it might be because these creatures had not evolved intelligence.

"Lu Li, what are you doing?!"

Just as Lu Li was pulling his hand away from the Blade Arm Mantis's corpse, a harsh voice came from behind, belonging to Ying Zian.

This person was usually Zhao Hui's lackey, and now that Zhao Hui had awakened a powerful ability, he had become even more sycophantic.

Zhao Hui also turned his gaze to Lu Li, his expression uncertain.

Lu Li, who had already thought of a plan, remained calm:

"Oh, nothing, I was just trying out my ability."

"Trying out your ability? What tier?"

"Iron tier, Scouting."

Lu Li calmly reported Xing Anlin's ability.

Ying Zian's face showed ridicule:

"I thought it was something, turns out it's a useless Iron tier. Go scouting elsewhere, don't touch Zhao's loot here! Get lost..."

Zhao Hui raised his hand to interrupt:

"Hey, let him finish."

Lu Li put on a grateful expression:

"My Scouting ability can find the location where Essence Crystals are generated."

"Essence Crystal generation location?" Zhao Hui's eyes narrowed:

"Where?"

When the apocalypse began, everyone's minds were infused with some information, including the use of Essence Crystals.

Essence Crystals could be generated inside monsters and were necessary materials for players' growth.

"Head."

Lu Li spoke and took a step back.

This small action pleased Zhao Hui, who nodded at Ying Zian:

"Go, get the Essence Crystal."

Ying Zian's awakened ability was [Claw], a Silver tier ability with low initial combat power but suitable for opening chests and guts.

After a while, a gray-black Essence Crystal was dug out.

Looking at the Essence Crystal, Ying Zian's eyes gleamed with greed, but he ultimately handed it to Zhao Hui.

"Brother Zhao, it's a Level 1 Essence Crystal."

Players could level up by absorbing Essence Crystals, with a Level 1 Essence Crystal providing 1 point of experience.

A Level 2 Essence Crystal provided 10 points of experience, and so on.

What seemed like a very ordinary leveling system actually contained hidden secrets.

Because players could only absorb ten Essence Crystals per week, but there was no restriction on the tier of the Essence Crystals absorbed.

Ten Level 1 Essence Crystals would result in a much lower level compared to ten Level 2 Essence Crystals.

Of course, only Lu Li was aware of this hidden secret.

Zhao Hui absorbed the Essence Crystal without hesitation, adopting an air of superiority:

"Good, we need to find ways to obtain more Essence Crystals to become stronger quickly."

Ying Zian immediately agreed:

"Right, right, everyone split up, and give the Essence Crystals you get to Brother Zhao!"

Hearing this, a voice of dissatisfaction came from the crowd:

"Why should we risk our lives to get Essence Crystals and give them to Zhao Hui for free?!"

"Why?"

Zhao Hui sneered, his eyes locking onto the person who opposed him, with electric arcs flashing in his palm:

"Because I awakened a Diamond tier ability, and you didn't!"
