Lihao's face turned ashen; he had never been bullied like this before. Immediately, Lihao didn't care who the newcomer was; he thought, can anyone be as tough as me?
Lihao reined in his anger and sneered, "You don't even know who the Summer Rhythm belongs to, and you dare to drive in here? Should I call you stupid, or say you're asking for death?"
"You have the guts to say that. Let's see if I don't crash this place to pieces. Oh, I might accidentally hit you too; my driving skills aren't that great," Yangye said calmly.
"You... Fine, you're tough, don't you dare leave!" Lihao, enraged by Yangye, spat out a threat and pulled out his phone to call, somewhat worried about the newcomer's background.
Finally, the people around started to react, pointing at Yangye. The young man looked disdainful, as if saying Yangye had offended someone he shouldn't; while the big shots from the business and political circles shook their heads, as if saying this young man was uncultured and overconfident, a nouveau riche who thought money made him the boss, their eyes revealing a sense of superiority.
And Qin Yan's classmates were even more talkative about her nouveau riche boyfriend—
"Ah, Qin Yan's boyfriend is just a bit rich, overconfident, and dared to provoke Lihao..."
"Right, Lihao's father is a big shot in our Z City, no matter how powerful that guy is, he can't turn the tide. This guy is done."
"Qin Yan and Lihao are such a good match. Lihao is handsome, gentle, and very rich. Is Qin Yan blind?"
"Tsk, you mind your own business. She might be half a prostitute now, following whoever has money..."
"You're right. There's a good chance. But next, she's going to be embarrassed. Her boyfriend actually confronted Lihao. Tsk tsk..."
Li Fei also looked at Qin Yan with a sense of schadenfreude. Yes, she was jealous of Qin Yan's purity and beauty, and of her easily acquired rich boyfriend. So what? Now, she would be trampled by Lihao, and her situation might be even worse than Li Fei's! And Li Fei could continue to connect with Lihao, maybe even be kept!
Thinking of this, Li Fei's lips curled into a sneer, her excitement growing.
Hearing the comments around her, Qin Yan's face turned pale. She knew very well Yangye's actual situation and family background; he had trouble even eating before, let alone having any connections or backing.
Qin Yan raised her head and gave Yangye a worried look.
Yangye, of course, understood the meaning in Qin Yan's eyes, smiled slightly, and gave her a reassuring look.
While people were talking, Lihao was making a furious phone call.
"Dad, if you don't come over, this punk will shit on your head!" Lihao shouted into the phone, his eyes red, veins bulging on his arms, a rare sight of someone so angry.
After Lihao finished shouting, he paused for a moment, listening to the other side, then his expression improved. He nodded slightly and continued, "Okay, Dad, come over quickly." Then he hung up.
Yangye watched Lihao, who was approaching, with a smile, but said nothing.
Lihao approached, his gaze sweeping over Qin Yan's face, pausing for a moment, then looking at Yangye, his expression still fierce, and his tone harsh, "You damn, give! me! a! break!"
Hearing Lihao's words, Qin Yan, who was huddled in Yangye's arms, shuddered. Yangye frowned, hugged her tightly, and said softly, "Don't worry, I'm here."
Ignoring Lihao, Yangye carried Qin Yan into the passenger seat of the supercar, kissed her forehead, and gently closed the door.
Sitting on the sleek, black hood of the supercar, Yangye finally spoke to Lihao, "Can I have a glass of juice?"
"What?" Lihao was taken aback, not expecting the guy to say such a thing after holding back for so long. He was momentarily stunned.
"I've been running all the way, and I'm parched. Do you have any juice? Give me a glass," Yangye said, looking at Lihao.
Lihao frowned, waved his hand, and one of his subordinates brought a glass of juice. Then he watched Yangye quietly, waiting for him to continue.
Yangye was calm, seemingly not taking Lihao's phone call seriously. Did he not know who Lihao's father was?
Everyone thought this, and after some consideration, they all believed it to be true. This guy had never been seen before, probably not from a wealthy family in Z City, and if he came from elsewhere, he would need provincial-level connections to have any influence over Lihao's father.
Lihao was also puzzled. Was the guy backed by someone, or was he just a fool?
This would probably only be revealed in the end.
Time passed, and just as everyone's anxiety began to spread, the hall's door opened again.
This time, six people entered. The one in front clearly had a higher status, followed by a woman and five men, likely a male secretary, a female secretary, and four bodyguards.
The leader was a fat man with a bald head, a face full of wrinkles, and small, sharp eyes. His black suit was stretched tight, and his large belly jiggled as he walked, clearly a leader. This man was Lihao's father—Li Gao.
Although he didn't look impressive, no one here dared to underestimate or laugh at him. Everyone's face was serious.
This feeling made Lihao extremely pleased! This was the feeling of being noticed, admired, and envied... It was so satisfying!
Of course, there was one person who made him very unhappy—Yangye, who was still flirting with Qin Yan! Damn, I'll cripple you in a moment!
Seeing his father, Lihao's handsome face twisted in excitement, and he rushed forward, shouting, "Dad, you finally came."
Li Gao glanced at his son, his face stern, and said in a deep voice, "What are you shouting for? You're a grown man, yet you still can't be composed. How can you accomplish anything with such emotional outbursts?"
Lihao nodded hurriedly, "Yes, Father, you're right, but no one could bear this situation!" Then he whispered in Li Gao's ear, "Dad, that guy seems to have some background, otherwise I wouldn't have called you."
Li Gao listened to Lihao's whisper and nodded, his face twitching, "Good, you did well. Now, let me handle it. Watch and learn."
"Yes, yes," Lihao nodded excitedly. With his father's help, he would surely get rid of that guy without any trouble.
After Lihao finished speaking, he stepped aside, and the big shots from the business and political circles gathered around Li Gao, chatting and building connections.
"Ha, Old Li, how have you been?" A sixty-year-old man in a Tang suit spoke first.
"Ha, with Director Zhou's concern, everything will be fine!" Lihao smiled.
"To be honest, it's not Lihao's fault. He did well today, you shouldn't blame him," the old man surnamed Zhou said.
Lihao, hearing this, was overjoyed and looked at Yangye with a hint of resentment.
Others might not understand Lihao, but his father, Li Gao, certainly did. Lihao appeared refined but was always causing trouble with women, which was one reason Li Gao kept him from revealing his identity at school. The school environment was complex. But even outside, Lihao had caused many romantic troubles, and this time it was because of a woman.
However, Li Gao couldn't criticize his son in front of others; those were family matters.
"This kid is sometimes immature. Today, thanks to everyone's restraint, otherwise, who knows what trouble he would have caused. If he suddenly introduced a girlfriend to me, I'd be shocked to death," Li Gao joked.
"Ha ha ha..." Everyone laughed.
Li Gao, surrounded by a group of people, chatted and laughed, the tense atmosphere from before completely gone. Yangye, after finishing his juice, asked for a cup of ice cream and started eating it.
Everyone was curious why he didn't leave, but now he couldn't leave!
After ten minutes, Li Gao finally broke away from the crowd and strode towards Yangye.
Up close, Li Gao sized up Yangye, who was neither tall nor short, neither fat nor thin, neither handsome nor ugly. He laughed and said, "Young man, who is your father?"
Yangye took a bite of ice cream, then shuddered, holding his cheek in pain. After a while, he looked up at Li Gao and said, "Orphan." He took another bite of ice cream and shuddered again.
Li Gao's eyes twitched, looking at the young man. No wonder his son was so angry but didn't act. This guy probably had no backing, just a rich kid from another province who didn't know the complexity of Z City.
Composing himself, Li Gao continued to smile, "If you don't want to say, that's fine. I just want to ask why you drove into my son's party and caused trouble?" Then his expression changed, "If you can't give a reason, it will be easy to enter Z City but hard to leave."
Yangye threw the ice cream cup to the ground, "Crash," the glass shattered, the sound echoing in the silent hall, sounding sharp.
Li Gao's face twitched, his expression changing drastically.
"Ha ha, Mr. Li, no need to be nervous. I just have a small misunderstanding with your son," Yangye said.
Li Gao's expression softened, his face twitching slightly.
"That's good. If so, just apologize to my son. We're all young, and this can be considered a friendship after it's over," Li Gao said.
Yangye looked at Li Gao's small eyes, ignoring his words, and continued, "But this small misunderstanding has made me very uncomfortable, so I hope he can apologize to me and my girlfriend!"
Hearing Yangye's words, the fat on Li Gao's face trembled violently, clearly showing his anger.
"Kid, don't be so arrogant. In Z City, it's not about who has the most money who is the boss!" Li Gao sneered.
"Is that so..." Yangye smiled.
Li Gao's face turned cold, living up to his reputation as Lihao's father. He waved his hand, and two bodyguards stepped forward.
"Smash this kid's car! And—"
Before Li Gao could finish, a roar of an engine came from a distance, growing louder. When everyone felt it was right in front of them, the hall's door was suddenly flung open, and the two guys responsible for the door collapsed on the ground, sweating coldly.
Similar to before, the door opened quickly, and a powerful supercar with a roaring engine rushed in.
