Chapter 88

6 min read1,413 words

Ning Yi was taken aback. He hadn’t really paid much attention before, but today, as her skirt lifted, he noticed that Gu Damei’s snow-white legs were astonishingly long, and as smooth as congealed fat, almost reflecting the light. Her calves were straight like cliffs. This should be considered the most beautiful legs, right?

His throat went dry, and Ning Yi immediately realized he was courting death.

Where did Huang Shaoyu come from? Where did Guo Hui’s lackeys come from?

There was only Gu Ying in the room, and from her movements, it seemed she was preparing to do something inappropriate?

“Ning… Yi… How… How is it you?” Gu Ying’s fair face instantly turned bright red, her voice trembling. She hurriedly put down her skirt to cover the exposed view, her beautiful eyes wide and glistening with tears.

Ning Yi was extremely embarrassed, hating Guo Hui to the core!

Only now did he realize he had been misled by concern. After all, Gu Ying was the daughter of the principal, and Guo Hui, though from a wealthy family, wouldn’t dare to make a move on her, let alone reveal his plans to him.

“I… I thought something happened to you.” Ning Yi’s face turned red, and he quickly rolled toward the door. “I’ll go out right away.”

“Come back!” Gu Ying’s face was so red it seemed to be dripping with water. Did this guy think she was injured while cultivating?

But this time, she hadn’t made any noise at all.

Ning Yi, like a child who had done something wrong, slowly turned back. His eyes swept the room and suddenly noticed a box on the bed behind Gu Ying… He recognized it; it was a sanitary pad.

Sweat!

She must have been changing that thing! It seemed he had rushed in before she could finish.

Damn, he was really courting death, all because of that damn Guo Hui!

“Teacher, I really didn’t mean to! I promise I didn’t see anything!” Ning Yi couldn’t help but recall the scene of the snow-white and the faint black, which was hard to forget.

Gu Ying clenched her fists tightly. This guy had seen everything and was still pretending, which was infuriating!

But she pretended to agree with Ning Yi, trying to act as if nothing had happened. After all, this was too embarrassing. If it got out that Ning Yi had burst in while she was changing, it would be so embarrassing.

“No mention of this. Nothing happened just now, understand?” Gu Ying pouted, thinking to herself how weak her voice sounded.

“Understood! Nothing happened!”

“This door was just fixed!” Gu Ying was so angry she could spit blood, but after some thought, she could only accept her bad luck. She then remembered something and asked urgently, “By the way, weren’t you running a high fever? Why didn’t you answer my calls? And why are you all messy? Were you robbed?”

Ning Yi, hearing this, broke out in a sweat and quickly checked his phone. Sure enough, there were two missed calls. He must have been too busy or in the middle of a fight to notice.

As for the fever, it was probably a lie made up by Guo Hui.

“No fever… It was someone…” Ning Yi was considering whether to tell her everything about his encounter with Guo Hui.

But before he could decide, Chen Liu’s voice came from the corridor: “Damn, I’m here, you bastards, I’ll fight you to the death…”

Then came the sound of heavy footsteps and the dragging of a metal pipe from the living room. The burly Chen Liu, holding a metal pipe, appeared at Gu Ying’s door.

He looked at Gu Ying and Ning Yi inside and was instantly stunned.

“So quick?”

Gu Ying, seeing this, quickly pulled the blanket to cover the sanitary pad on the bed. She looked at the stunned Chen Liu and asked, puzzled, “Chen Liu, why do you have a pipe? What happened to you?”

“Hey, where’s that bastard Huang Shaoyu?” Chen Liu was dumbfounded, seeing only Ning Yi and Gu Damei in the room.

“What Huang Shaoyu?” Gu Ying was also puzzled, but she didn’t forget to give Ning Yi a warning look, indicating he mustn’t reveal what had just happened.

“That… Guo Hui said Huang Shaoyu had escaped and was planning to harm you. Ning Yi went crazy, agreed to a duel with Guo Hui, and rushed back here in a hurry.”

“What? Huang Shaoyu? Isn’t he still in custody?” Gu Ying was puzzled. “What about the duel? What’s going on? Why are you both so disheveled?”

“That… Miss Gu, you have too many questions…” Chen Liu looked at Ning Yi, who was giving him a meaningful look. He immediately understood that Ning Yi didn’t want Gu Ying to know about the duel.

He quickly changed his story, “It’s all Guo Hui’s fault. He set up a trap, tied me up in a hotel, and called Ning Yi, saying Huang Shaoyu was coming to get you. He put Ning Yi in a difficult position, but he didn’t expect that Ning Yi isn’t the same as before. He took down that Gu Yan with just two fingers and rushed back to save you. You don’t know… This guy couldn’t drive before, but today he was on some kind of high, driving so fast that he got here in less than ten minutes. Who knew he’d be tricked by Guo Hui.”

“That bastard, he’s no good!”

“This Guo Hui is really strange. Why is he playing such tricks on you?” Gu Ying was suspicious but couldn’t figure it out. “Alright, go to the hospital for a check-up. You both look terrible.”

Gu Ying didn’t press further, but she finally understood why Ning Yi had rushed back and burst into her room.

He was worried about her safety. This silly boy, she didn’t know whether to thank him or scold him.

But one thing was certain: he had seen her tonight!

Thinking of this, her face flushed again.

At her request, Chen Liu was taken to the hospital for a simple check-up.

After the check-up, they sent Chen Liu home. It was already past midnight when Ning Yi stretched and yawned. He was quite tired, but since the hospital was close to the neighborhood, they decided to walk home.

The evening wind was brisk, and the hospital entrance was rather quiet. The streetlights stretched their shadows long.

“It’s late, I’ll take you back to school.” Ning Yi looked at the time and offered.

“I’m not going back tonight.” Gu Ying answered without much thought, but then felt it sounded strange, like a couple being locked out and going to a hotel. She quickly explained, “I can’t go back even if I wanted to; the school gates are closed.”

When they got home, they tidied up the house. Ning Yi took a shower and was about to go to his room when he noticed Gu Ying sitting in the living room in her pajamas.

“Teacher, aren’t you going to sleep?” Ning Yi asked curiously.

Gu Ying nodded, “I can’t sleep.”

Ning Yi frowned, poured two glasses of water, and walked over to her. “Do you mind?”

“Sit down!” she said, looking at Ning Yi.

“Teacher, I need to apologize for what happened tonight!” Ning Yi thought she was still upset about the incident, which was understandable, as being almost seen naked could leave a psychological shadow.

Gu Ying’s face turned red, and she glared at Ning Yi. “Don’t mention that again!”

“Then, Teacher, you are…”

Gu Ying picked up the glass of water in front of her, took a sip, and looked at Ning Yi. “You’re really thoughtful. It’s lemon water!”

Ning Yi smiled. “Of course I remember your taste.”

“You’re worth the effort.” Gu Ying felt very comfortable, leaning back, but her face tensed slightly. “There’s something I want to discuss with you.”

Her expression was a bit embarrassed, as if she found it hard to say.
