Returning inside the house.

The home that was once so familiar.

Bai Xiaoxuan and Xie Jingjing felt that something indescribable had entered the house. Sitting on the sofa, they felt as if a pair of eyes were staring at them from the darkness behind.

Only Qin Ning looked relaxed, lying half on the sofa and watching TV with great interest.

He naturally had nothing to fear.

Back then, the old blind man had trained his courage by telling him over ten terrifying and shocking stories in one go when he was six years old, and then throwing him into a graveyard at midnight. At first, Qin Ning was so scared that he couldn't sleep all night, but as the number of times increased, he got used to it. Eventually, he could sleep soundly in a coffin that had been washed out by rain in the graveyard.

Now, it was just a house where three people had died, which was nothing to him.

"Qin Ning, aren't you afraid?"

Zhao Liangliang looked around, feeling a chill, and couldn't help but ask.

Bai Xiaoxuan really wanted to ask too, but she was too embarrassed to speak up. Hearing Zhao Liangliang's question, she quickly looked at Qin Ning.

Qin Ning said, "What's there to be afraid of? I have a clear conscience."

"Pah!" For some reason, Bai Xiaoxuan always wanted to argue with Qin Ning. Hearing his shameless words, she spat and said, "You're such a liar, a big pervert with a clear conscience."

"You misunderstand me too much."

Qin Ning said with a smile, "Actually, the more you get to know me, the more you'll find out that I'm quite innocent."

"You disgust me!"

Bai Xiaoxuan shivered, feeling goosebumps all over her body.

Xie Jingjing also wanted to change the eerie atmosphere and asked, "Qin Ning, are you a Taoist?"

"No, I'm a fortune-teller," Qin Ning said. "But there's not much difference between the two; we just take different paths."

"Is face reading really that accurate?" Zhao Liangliang asked.

Qin Ning said, "Sincerity brings miracles. In the end, it all depends on the choices you make. Face reading is just a process."

The two nodded in agreement.

At this moment, Bai Xiaoxuan asked, "Is there really such a thing as ghosts in this world?"

Xie Jingjing immediately looked at Bai Xiaoxuan with a reproachful expression.

Why bring up such a topic now?

Don't you know this house is abnormal?

Bai Xiaoxuan smiled sheepishly, pretending it was unintentional.

Serves you right for being so close to him!

Qin Ning sat up straight, lowered the TV volume, and said, "To be honest, I don't know if ghosts exist. Maybe they do, but I've never seen one."

Actually, it wasn't just him.

The old blind man had never seen one either.

The old blind man once said that when he was young, he had fought his way out of a mountain of corpses with two watermelon knives and was worried about being haunted by his enemies. He even learned ghost-catching techniques, but he never saw a ghost. Qin Ning had slept in the graveyard several times and never saw a ghost either. However, the books of the Heavenly Phase Sect mentioned that ghosts do exist.

"Maybe ghosts don't exist," Xie Jingjing said, trying to reassure herself.

Bai Xiaoxuan was also a bit regretful for bringing up the topic and quickly nodded, "Right, it's the age of science now; we shouldn't believe in feudal superstitions."

"But that's not entirely true," Qin Ning countered. "Throughout history, there have been countless unexplained supernatural events. Even in modern times, there are many unexplained incidents with a high degree of authenticity. For example, some people see a shadow sitting at the head of their bed when they're half-asleep, and others accidentally get on a bus where everyone is floating."

"Enough, enough!"

Bai Xiaoxuan quickly stopped him, annoyed. "Are you doing this on purpose?"

"I'm just telling the truth," Qin Ning said innocently, blinking his eyes.

"Jerk!"

Bai Xiaoxuan gritted her teeth.

Qin Ning was about to say more to prove whether ghosts existed, but Xie Jingjing and her husband really didn't want to hear it. The room was too eerie, and they quickly said, "Don't talk about it!"

"What's the big deal?"

Qin Ning muttered, "If you have a clear conscience, why be afraid of ghosts?"

"Not everyone is as heartless as you," Bai Xiaoxuan retorted.

"Then we should discuss this," Qin Ning said. "Is there a connection between having a guilty conscience and ghosts? Does not having a guilty conscience mean being heartless?"

"No! Absolutely don't discuss ghosts! Look at the news!"

At that moment, Xie Jingjing shouted.

They all looked at the TV, where the evening news was reporting the truth behind the suicides of three female students at Yunteng University two years ago. The report included footage of Wang Fu's interrogation after his confession, where he detailed the heinous act from two years ago. Following that, the news reported the arrest of the real culprit.

Seeing the wealthy businessman from out of town being arrested, looking dejected, Bai Xiaoxuan felt a weight lifted from her heart. "Evil begets evil! This scum deserved to be caught!"

"Ah, those three girls can finally rest in peace," Xie Jingjing sighed, watching the parents of the three girls cry uncontrollably in the interview. She couldn't help but say, "The living still have to bear the pain of losing loved ones. Seeing their parents like this, the three of them must be in great pain too."

Bai Xiaoxuan also sighed, "Those who are alive still have to endure the pain of losing loved ones. Seeing their parents like this, the three of them must be in great pain too."

Just as she finished speaking.

Suddenly, there was a loud pop.

The entire house plunged into darkness.

After a brief silence.

Xie Jingjing let out a scream and immediately burrowed into Zhao Liangliang's trembling arms. Bai Xiaoxuan's face turned pale, and she didn't hesitate to hug Qin Ning, who was sitting next to her.

Feeling the warmth in his arms.

Qin Ning felt his heart soar.

He naturally wouldn't miss this opportunity and quickly hugged Bai Xiaoxuan, patting her back and whispering, "Don't be afraid, I'm here."

"Qin Ning, why did the power suddenly go out?" Zhao Liangliang's trembling voice came. "Could it be that they were also watching TV just now?"

"Stop talking!"

Xie Jingjing quickly covered Zhao Liangliang's mouth, too afraid to look around. She closed her eyes and said, "Please, don't talk about it! I'm scared!"

"I'm scared too!"

As a girl, Bai Xiaoxuan was too scared to open her eyes. Feeling the warmth and security in Qin Ning's embrace, she didn't want to leave.

"Qin Ning?"

Qin Ning said with a smile, "What's there to be afraid of? Don't forget, your fortunes are still affected by the negative energy. The power outage is just a manifestation of your bad luck. You've encountered many worse things this month, haven't you? Besides, if they are really here, shouldn't we thank them?"
