Chapter 8

God's Nemesis, Regression 008

8. Progman Ten Thousand Commander

The third calamity.

From Shi Xian's perspective, it was like eating for a living.

'They can't climb up to Jamsil Bridge.'

Unless they could jump from the ground to the bridge.

The place where they were was water.

Unlike the ground, water had no foothold, so they couldn't jump up to Jamsil Bridge.

They couldn't even crawl up to Jamsil Bridge.

Progmen's bodies excreted a slippery substance, like oil.

It was to make the 'weapons' used by most humans slip.

But because of this, they couldn't stick to anything and climb.

Even if they tried to climb up Jamsil Bridge, they would just slide down.

"Keru keru keru!"

Even if they tried to jump up by stepping on their companions, it was impossible.

They could jump far forward, but not high up.

In short, there was no solution.

The part connected to the ground had already been severed by Shi Xian.

Even if they tried to regain their senses, Astrapae kept being shot at them.

'Skill proficiency amplification with the fruit of mastery.'

Hee hee.

'This is what I was waiting for.'

In reality, Shi Xian was just standing still, throwing spears.

Yet, he had already eliminated the Ten Thousand Commander, the Hundred Commander, and now the Thousand Commander.

Flash!

The third calamity, Progman.

The most terrifying thing about them was that the stronger ones would appear the more you killed.

If you killed a Ten Commander, a Hundred Commander would appear.

If you killed a Hundred Commander, a Thousand Commander would appear.

And when you killed a Thousand Commander, dozens of Hundred Commanders would appear.

Ordinary players would have been overwhelmed by the continuous appearance of strong enemies.

But Shi Xian was different.

Flash!

Thanks to the fact that this place was the Han River, full of water.

Thanks to the fact that there was no interference from anything.

All he had to do was throw Astrapae at the biggest one.

▶Objective: Defeat one Progman Ten Thousand Commander within the time limit

▶Reward: [12,000 Points]

▶Additional Reward: Differential payment based on contribution.

▶Failure: None.

Ku ku ku ku...

"Kee ru ru ru..."

"Ku... ru... Get out of the way!"

"Oh, it's coming."

Around Jamsil Bridge on the Han River.

A crack appeared that was incomparably larger than before.

And a Progman appeared, as large as a giant monster.

"Human...!"

Four huge tridents held in its four arms.

A suit of armor custom-made for a giant monster.

Teeth that looked like thousands of saw blades.

Swoosh!

This creature, just by appearing, caused a small tidal wave around the Han River. It was the Progman Ten Thousand Commander, Kakori.

Progman Ten Thousand Commander.

A giant monster that should have appeared much later.

A being that led ten thousand Progmen, its overwhelming size and strength were so great that even other monsters feared it.

Plop... Plop...

With its appearance, the Han River area seemed like a children's pool.

With Kakori's size, it could easily reach Jamsil Bridge by just extending its hand.

"Finally, it's here."

Only then did Shi Xian slightly change his position.

He picked up a spear.

Flash!

Just like before, he kept throwing Astrapae.

Flash! Flash!

Zap!

"Kweeek!"

"Kaaah!"

The Progmen around Kakori died from electrocution.

Regardless, Shi Xian kept throwing Astrapae at it.

"Damn... bastard..."

Thanks to this, Kakori, whose movements had slowed, gnashed its teeth.

While he kept throwing.

...

Additional damage is given based on attack speed and movement speed.

The spear, which already boasted incredible efficiency, had been upgraded.

Thanks to the fruit of mastery and the skill proficiency amplification.

The effect of the upgraded D-grade spear was to give additional damage based on attack speed and movement speed.

And now, Shi Xian's attack speed was 100%, and his movement speed was 100%.

'The synergy between Astrapae and the spear.'

Hee hee.

'Is the best.'

What more could be said?

Now, the 'spear' with 200% additional damage was wreaking havoc on Kakori.

Numerous wounds and holes appeared on its body.

"Krooo!"

Kakori roared.

The Progmen around it had long since fled.

It headed towards Jamsil Bridge alone, feeling lonely.

And.

"Evil... ghost!"

It finally reached the Jamsil Bridge where Shi Xian was.

Kwaang!

It swung its four arms, destroying the area where Shi Xian was.

"Not bad?"

Shi Xian smiled.

He stepped on the debris and leaped up.

Flash!

He threw Astrapae while stepping on the debris.

"Krooo!"

It made a truly monstrous sound.

The injured Kakori swung its four arms.

But.

Flash!

Even if it was Shi Xian, he couldn't stay in the air forever.

Eventually, Shi Xian's body fell into the water.

▶Consumable Item

#This is a reward item for the main quest of the third calamity, [Defeat Progman Ten Commander].

When consumed, it allows breathing underwater for 30 minutes by growing gills.

When consumed, it allows faster swimming for 30 minutes by growing webbed hands and feet.

*However, swimming speed increases proportionally with movement speed.

Splash.

Shi Xian, who had consumed 'Gill Herb' upon falling, swam forward.

And his direction was towards Kakori.

"You... bastard!"

Kakori, sensing the danger, tried to move away.

But its body was too large.

Splash!

Shi Xian, standing on one of Kakori's four arms, threw Astrapae.

Flash!

"Krooo!"

Was it because of the close distance?

Astrapae hit with unprecedented accuracy.

The golden lightning not only pierced but also penetrated into Kakori's insides.

The current flowed through its blue blood.

And burned the muscles throughout its body.

Zap!

Flash!

While Kakori was dazed.

Shi Xian reached the top of its head.

Soon, all the Astrapae in Shi Xian's hand formed a trident.

"Go."

Flash!

Kraaak!

"Kraaa... Evil... ghost...!"

The trident-shaped Astrapae pierced Kakori's head in one go.

Its brain, surrounding muscles, and skull instantly turned to ashes.

Koooom.

Its massive body collapsed instantly.

Swoosh!

A huge wave swept the area around the Han River.

"Run, run!"

"What is this again!"

The players around quickly started to run.

"Brat."

On top of Kakori's corpse.

"Relax."

Zap.

Shi Xian, who had retrieved Astrapae, slumped down.

At the same time, numerous messages echoed in his ears.

...

Crack.

Cracks began to open in various parts of Songpa District.

"Keru keru keru..."

"Keru keru."

At the same time, Progmen were absorbed into those places.

"Early termination...?"

"Is this possible?"

The players who saw this scene muttered in a dazed voice.

"He's a hero..."

"He saved us..."

"He's a hero!"

"But who is that person?"

"I don't know, just cheer!"

"Hurrah!"

Far away on the Han River.

Numerous players cheered for Shi Xian.

After giving a slight smile and a wave.

Shi Xian said,

"Kids, swallow it."

Wide open.

Crack.

Kibisis absorbed all kinds of junk items and potions.

The mysterious egg only picked iron to swallow.

Mainly the iron bars from the collapsed Jamsil Bridge and the weapons the Progmen had.

...

...

'Wow.'

Shi Xian, who saw the list of gods, chuckled.

"Is the Ares guy who left coming back?"

He had a hunch why.

'Capturing the Progman Ten Thousand Commander is unprecedented.'

Before the regression, in the third calamity, the biggest achievement.

They had barely managed to capture one Progman Thousand Commander with thousands of players.

Moreover, there were two players contracted with higher gods and one player contracted with a main god.

But Shi Xian had captured five Thousand Commanders and even the Ten Thousand Commander.

Without contracting with any god.

An unprecedented achievement.

If there were already contracted players, it might be different. But for gods without contracted players, it would be a shame to miss a player like Shi Xian.

'Shiva, Enlil, and even Hades. Three supreme gods gathered.'

While it was true that Shi Xian disliked most gods.

The fact that such powerful gods were gathering to contract with him was equivalent to being recognized as 'strong.'

"Now."

Shi Xian smiled.

"Get lost."

Flash.

Shi Xian rejected all the offers again.

...

'I wonder what the MVP reward for this time is.'

The MVP reward for the third calamity.

Shi Xian didn't know.

Before the regression, no player had captured the Progman Ten Thousand Commander.

'At least it should be better than the Thousand Commander reward.'

#This is the MVP reward for the third calamity.

▶Material Item

▶Effect

*Can be used after purification.

This reward was a material item of A-grade.

'Pearl of Wisdom...'

It had an excellent effect.

But Kibisis couldn't use it.

Because of the note at the end, 'Can be used after purification.'

'If I use this on Kibisis, it might even lower the proficiency. It can't absorb the original effect.'

But whether it was good or bad.

Whether it was purified or not.

There was a place where it could be used.

"I know."

Crack?

"Eat it."

The mysterious egg.

It could literally eat 'anything.'

...
