Chapter 2 - Transmigrate

10 min read2,386 words

The young man standing still in the mirror looked a bit childish. His appearance seems to be around someone who was in his twenties.

Looking at his own self, the man noticed that his skin looked pretty good and his palm felt like someone who has never done any hard-work in his entire life. He presumed that the young man’s past life must have been a good one. Though he was sure, this man didn’t like to write.

Tan Feiyang turned around the luxurious but not so fancy room, only to find nothing that resembled a paper or a pen. He came into a conclusion, and it seemed that this man really hated writing. He dipped his fingers in a glass of water and wrote a few words on the table.

The writing he saw, was way uglier than Cheng Mingyi, that he couldn’t bear to look straight!

He stared at those three characters “Jian Ningzhe” on the table, until the water stains evaporated and no more traces of those three characters were to be seen.

Tan Feiyang finally couldn’t control himself but lift the table!

“What the hell?”

In the past, Cheng Mingyi, now Tan Feiyang, he couldn’t help but shout, his ugly expression being totally in conflict with Tan Feiyang’s handsome face.

He stood in front of the mirror, and pointed his right index finger at the man who was standing in the mirror very impolitely, and said, “A young man of twenty-one years old, rich second generation, even a junior-high school student could surpass him in terms of knowledge.”

“Is that a head or an embroidered pillow? A returnee who graduated from a prestigious international school. How did you get your diploma? And so what if you can talk in English, there is no point if you can’t write. What’s with this new style of illiteracy?”

He was baffled by the man in the mirror, “It’s so ugly! This pussy is too embarrassing.” (TL/N: a potty mouth.)

To be honest, he was being a bit biased. Tan Feiyang looked exactly like those popular Korean models. He had a very fresh and a young face. Tan Feiyang ’s face wasn’t touched by any knife, and his natural features were perfect .

The slightly raised eyebrows added a touch of temperament, and nowadays, the ‘cool and handsome bad boy’ kind of image were in the trend among little girls. What’s more perfect is that his temperament and appearance are natural.

(TL/N: i wanna see Tan Feiyang irl.)

However…

In his past life, Cheng Mingy was weak from a very young age. He wished he could grow up to be five inches big and three inches thick. But he had to start working even before his body could fully be developed. He was physically too stressed and malnourished. So, his body stopped growing at 175 cm.

His mother was 172 cm tall and his father was 185 cm. According to genetics, he should have been at least 180 cm. Unfortunately, he didn’t take good care of himself during the growing period, and ended with 175 cm, in tears.

He realized no pain, no gain.

When the conditions are better, or when you have time, you have to go to the gym.

This time, even if he had to climb a mountain or a rock, he would do anything just to buff up his muscles.

Cheng Mingyi thinks that the most handsome man should be tall and muscular, like Schwarzenegger, but unfortunately only a few Asians could meet up to his standard. As for Tan Feiyang’s Korean-style fresh meat, Cheng Mingyi found them the most annoying.

But, it wasn’t like he could choose his own body.

Cheng Mingyi understood that he died in that car accident. However, he transmigrated into the body of this young, rich second generation heir named Tan Feiyang, and from this point onward he could only be Tan Feiyang.

In fact, he should consider it to be his advantage. Even if it was a disaster, his life had come to an end, and now he was able to live once again. So in a way, he was really lucky.

And as for Tan Feiyang himself…

It was purely self-inflicted death!

Cheng Mingyi fully figured out in Tan Feiyang’s “doing nothing” way of life. He was a rich second generation heir, with a lot of wealth accumulated by his father, and a big brother who had a lot of influence and connection on his own.

He didn’t have to do anything, and still had money to live a lavish life. So all he had to do was spend all his money and live a lifetime without any concern. Few years back, his father left him a share, and his elder brother took super good care of him, giving him more money every year.

So, why wasn’t Tan Feiyang living well?

Even if he didn’t want to study, nor did he like to work. He didn’t like anything that made him struggle and so all he did was play games, travel around, pick up girls and spend money on them.

The world was so big, and with that money he could do anything he wanted.

After messing around in a party, the alcohol he was about to drink was mixed with stimulant and he drank himself to death.

Cheng Mingyi woke up from his bed, only to face Tan Feiyang’s older brother Tan Feiyu’s livid face. He wasn’t scared, but he did hope that this brother could teach Tan Feiyang some serious lesson.

Wasn’t it fun to kill yourself? To hurt those who care about you.

So when Tan Feiyu grounded him, Cheng Mingyi wasn’t angry nor did he try to run out to play. He was still very dizzy, and felt like he could throw up, even if he moved an inch. This kind of body should just stay at home and rest.

The phone was constantly vibrating on the table, seems to be the electrician. Cheng Mingyi threw his phone directly onto the glass.

Both the glass and the phone were silent, only for the loud thud to be heard.

—–

Lin Yuanhang, the host of the party last night, may look like a decent guy, having strong arms, a slender waist, wide shoulders and pretty long legs, but in private he was just a crowned beast.

Tan Feiyang loved playing with him since childhood and played with him, until the last moment of his own death.

Cheng Mingyu, now Tan Feiyang received a call from him when he was still recovering at home. When he answered Lin Yuanhang’s call, he thought that maybe this person was about to give him some condolences, or perhaps he was about to apologize.

But who knew, this Lin Yuanhang without any repentance, threw people into the hospital and ran away. And this time, he actually wanted Tan Feiyang to secretly run out of the house.

What is detention? All you need to do is, just jump off the third floor.

Cheng Mingyi almost died of anger when he heard Lin Yuanhang’s words. By the time their conversation ended, he realised this Lan Yuanhang was constantly trying to make things difficult for him. So, he cut the call abruptly.

One could say that these actions, such as shouting or smashing the phone, were quite similar to Tan Feiyang’s personality. So being locked in the room, Chen Mingyu was afraid that he would go crazy.

After tossing and turning for a while, Tan Feiyang finally vented a little anger he felt. Truth be told, he wasn’t that angry, otherwise he wouldn’t have answered the call. But that call almost cost him, his phone.

Cheng Mingyi was poor.So he was always a frugal person. Generally, he wouldn’t have made such a mistake.

But the reason for his bad mood was what he had just discovered.

—–

Tan Feiyang has feeling a bit uncomfortable ever since he woke up. He didn’t know whether it was the hangover from the alcohol poisoning or if it was the disharmony between his soul and the new body. He has been drowsy these past few days. Everything was a blur, he didn’t even notice what was going on in his own surroundings.

It was until this day that he felt a bit better. So, he went online and started to surf a bit, only to find that the time he was in right now!

Cheng Mingyi clearly remembered he had a car accident in 2011, but now it was 2016!

He didn’t understand why such a time lapse, but he crossed over five years of time and space and entered a future far beyond than he knew.

At first, he thought, when he gets better, Tan Feiyu would released him from the house arrest, so he would secretly look for his Fifth Brother, and tell him(Fifth brother), his identity.

They both were so close, he was sure Fifth brother would believe in him at an instance.

But then, five years have passed, and time had washed away everything.

Would Fifth Brother still believe him?

Would his old friend still remember him?

In panic, Tan Feiyang went online to look up Jian Ningzhe’s name, and saw that his brother’s whole image was ruined.

In 2011, Fifth Brother was already quite popular in the entertainment industry. He played in several idol dramas, relying on his outstanding attitude and acting skills which was better than his own appearance.

When Cheng Mingyi was in trouble, Jian Ningzhe had just picked up a new film.project The film was to be directed by a well-known director. The director was a box office guarantee, and the main character of his movies were mostly big-shots. So, what it meant was, if the movie starring Jian Ningzhe was released, he could have had a smooth journey to the big screen and completely break away from his reputation as an idol actor and be recognized as an A-Lister.

But what happened, where did things go wrong?

Looking at his weibo page, the followers were just over one million, and the films he did in the past five years could be counted on one hand. He also did few idol dramas, where he was the second male lead or just a supporting character. The characters were either, obsessed, abnormal or crazy. And as for the movie that was negotiated five years ago, the protagonist was changed into someone else, and Jian Ningzhe wasn’t able to star in that movie at all!

The comments were filled with sorrowful remarks. Such as, the bright star left us too young.

Who left who too young?!

His fifth brother was not dead yet! Even after five years, the fifth brother was only twenty-nine years old, and he has not even reached thirty yet. In this circle, even the forty-year-old dare to perform in an idol dramas, twenty-nine was simply too young.

Back then the netizens used comment that Jian Ningzhe’s debut costume drama as the second lead, crushed the main lead in all the terms of appearance and temperament. At that time, he was a little fresh meat who just entered the entertainment industry, and his acting skills were not enough. However, in that drama the second lead was very suitable for him, and it completely covered up his shortcomings as a newcomer, and he experienced a lot in that classic role. When other actors tried to play similar roles, they were not as amazing as Jian Ningzhe, according to the audience.

But the most complicated thing in accepting such roles were, he would get the same roles again and again. But Jian Ningzhe chose many sets of different roles and continuously polished his acting skills. By the time he picks up the movie, the netizen’s evaluation of his acting skills is already very high and they were even expecting to see more from him.

However, the protagonist of the movie was changed and Jian Ningzhe lost a tremendous opportunity, so his whole status was declined and his acting was too lost its charm.

After a few dramas, fans were disappointed in him and so from the ‘Most Popular’ list he was pushed towards the eighteenth line.(TL/N: 18th line means less than a 3rd rated actor)

When one looked at the relationship between Cheng Mingye and Jian Ningzhe, they could imagine how hurt he was after seeing those posts. He could calmly accept the fact that he was dead, but what he couldn’t stand, was the people who were saying that Jian Ningzhe was bad!

His fifth brother came from the science stream, and his acting skills were never bad! The role he got in ‘The First Stunning World’ was not due to any coincides. He practiced quite hard to make himself presentable with that temperament. For others acting maybe be just acting on screen but for Fifth brother, it was his life!

Even if Xi Shi were to appeared in his eyes, he still won’t be moved, that was the strength of his Fifth Brother! (TL/N: Xi Shi was one of the renowned Four Beauties of ancient China.)

But then how did he turn like this? Was it that something had happened, those five years ago, did he offend someone he shouldn’t?

Cheng Mingye joined the adult society when he was a teenager. Although his academic qualifications were not good, but his social skills weren’t bad. He was not a prince trapped in the ivory tower and had long seen the darkness of this world. He knew one had to work hard on his own, and there were people who should never be offended.

Fifth Brother had no money nor any connection, and everything he did was depended on his own capabilities. Once he offend people, he really had no means to protect himself.

Cheng Mingyi was strolling around his room and was thinking, what he could do. After thinking for the nth time, he abruptly paused, and stood in front of the mirror to look at the young man behind it.

This man was the solution. The man in the mirror was the one who had everything, the one that had all the money and the connections which could help his Fifth brother from the backstage…

(TL/N: You won’t be confused but, Tan Feiyang = Cheng Mingyi)
