2010 finally arrived.
According to Park Min-ya, Lee Jin-fan was still "somewhat conscientious" and ended the shoot early on New Year's Day.
Park Ji-hoon returned home with a tired body, but unlike before, he did not lie down on the sofa directly. Instead, he took off his coat, washed up, and went to the kitchen to offer help.
Originally, they had planned to have a good meal on the 28th to celebrate Park Min-ya's successful admission to Seoul University. However, after regaining her composure, Park Min-ya thought it was too wasteful and suggested they celebrate on New Year's Day instead. That way, he wouldn't have to take a day off, as Director Lee Jin-fan would get angry at the mention of "taking a day off."
Naturally, he had no objections, as he almost completely followed Park Min-ya's lead in life.
The recent busyness, coupled with the lack of contact after "Family Outing," seemed to have gradually made him forget the pain in his heart. Filming movies, practicing boxing and combat skills, actively seeking various jobs, and summarizing the knowledge he learned during the day... he barely had time to sleep.
His difficulties were merely those of daily life, without a manager or assistant. In terms of job connections, he lacked the decisive power to make final decisions, but he had a network of contacts like a spider's web.
His rich experiences played a crucial role! For example, the staff of "Family Outing" were people he had met during the "X-Man" era. They had almost no contact for five or six years, but he always kept in touch, never forgetting to send greetings on holidays and birthdays. After five or six years... when he asked for help, the other party almost immediately agreed to try.
Don't think it was a simple matter. Compared to other artists, if they were not in the same industry, over 99% had lost contact with their closest relatives from five or six years ago! Not to mention ordinary friends they had only worked with.
This was one of the reasons why Zhao Daxi believed he could succeed, as he was smart, patient, and resilient!
"What are you doing? It smells so good!" Park Ji-hoon praised as soon as he entered the kitchen.
"All your favorite dishes!" Park Min-ya said while busy. She was cooking in one pot and stir-frying in another, but she still managed to turn her head and give Park Ji-hoon a quick smile—according to her, her brother deserved a good mood after a hard day's work!
"Um." Park Ji-hoon responded softly, looked around, and asked, "What can I help with?" Watching her busy back, he couldn't help but feel a bit moved and a bit heartbroken.
"Brother, help me bring the dishes to the table!" Park Min-ya said. She had started preparing as soon as she received Park Ji-hoon's call and had already made several dishes.
"Okay!" After setting the dishes on the table, Park Ji-hoon came back to her and asked, "What else can I do?" Unlike his usual sharpness, he seemed a bit clumsy, needing to be prompted to move. Standing obediently behind Park Min-ya, he looked like a little student waiting for the teacher's instructions.
"Ha ha!" Park Min-ya, though not turning around, could sense his presence and chuckled, saying, "That's all, brother, you can rest now!"
"Okay." Park Ji-hoon responded, but his feet didn't move.
Wearing a red apron, her hair tied in a high ponytail, her movements were quick and efficient. Who would have thought she was the genius praised by three professors at Seoul University as "talented and a once-in-a-decade find"? If her fans knew, they would probably scold him to death!
"Brother!" At this moment, Park Min-ya seemed to sense his mood and instructed him, "Check how the ribs in the pot are doing." Although their life was tight, they could still afford meat, just less frequently.
"Okay." Park Ji-hoon responded, lifted the lid, and looked down. Then, he let out a light exclamation, "Ah!" Not that he didn't know, but his mind was elsewhere, and his cheek collided with the rising steam!
"What's wrong?" Park Min-ya immediately looked over, then smiled helplessly, holding a spatula in one hand and lifting the other to gently press his back of the head, saying, "Lower your head!"
"No need..." Park Ji-hoon felt a bit embarrassed. At 26, being scalded by steam from lifting a lid was embarrassing, especially needing comfort from a sister seven years younger...
However, Park Min-ya didn't give him a chance to object. She gently pressed his head down, turned to look closely, and then gently blew on his slightly red nose.
Softly, delicately, like the gentle touch of his mother's hand when he was a child.
"Better!" After a few blows, Park Min-ya turned back and said, "Brother is filming a movie and is in a hurry, so no accidents can happen..."
"Got it! I'll go rest." Park Ji-hoon interrupted her.
"Brother, are you angry?" Park Min-ya turned to look at him and asked.
"No!" Park Ji-hoon shook his head quickly. Even if he was angry, it would be at himself, not her!
Park Min-ya smiled, turned to face him, and said softly, "Brother's eyes are all red, it makes me sad."
Park Ji-hoon was slightly dazed. Looking at her face and listening to her soft voice, he felt as if he saw his mother's shadow. His father, with his love for drinking and temper, had been tamed by his mother, becoming gentle and compliant.
Unable to resist, he nodded, his face softening—how could he cause her more trouble?
"That's better!" Park Min-ya wrinkled her nose and laughed, but was then gently tapped on the head by Park Ji-hoon.
"I'm the brother!" Park Ji-hoon said and turned to return to the living room.
"Male pride?" Park Min-ya blinked and nodded. She was trying to learn from her mother, who, in her memory, was the most perfect woman! Her father and brother both thought so.
With nothing to do, Park Ji-hoon lay down on the sofa again.
His energy was limited, and after years of busy work, he had forgotten all his cooking skills. In the past, he used to cook for Park Min-ya, and then they would go to school. Now, it was the opposite.
He had only intended to lie down for a while, as action scenes were extremely tiring! However, as soon as he lay down, his eyelids started to droop, and he soon fell into a deep sleep.
Until his nose was gently pinched.
"Time to wake up!" Park Min-ya's clear voice rang in his ear.
"Okay." Park Ji-hoon opened his eyes, responded, and quickly sat up, saying, "I fell asleep unintentionally."
"You didn't even cover yourself!" Park Min-ya complained, wrinkling her nose. "What if you catch a cold?" She reached out her hand.
Though her hands had no scars or calluses, they were not very pretty. No wonder, with frequent washing and cooking, how could her hands be as beautiful as a female star's?
Park Ji-hoon smiled helplessly, used her hand to stand up, and said, "I'll wash my face."
"Wait!" Park Min-ya straightened his messy clothes and hair, then gently patted his back, saying, "There!" A habit from her mother, though poor, but hair and clothes must be neat and clean!
After washing his face, he sat at the dining table.
Two people, four dishes, including ribs, and a bottle of juice. Though simple, it was enough.
"Happy New Year, brother!" Park Min-ya said, raising her glass after he sat down.
"Happy New Year." Park Ji-hoon smiled, raised his glass, and lightly clinked it with hers, drinking it all in one go.
Park Min-ya refilled his glass with juice. If it were before, it would be fine, but recently, he was too tired, so Park Min-ya had confiscated his cigarettes and alcohol.
"Congratulations on Min-ya's successful admission to Seoul University." Park Ji-hoon raised his glass after she refilled his glass.
"Thank you, brother!" Park Min-ya smiled and lightly clinked her glass with his, drinking it all in one go.
She was happier than anyone, not because of the praise from the three professors at Seoul University, but because of Park Ji-hoon's words, "I'm so happy"!
This was both her long-held wish and the pressure on her heart, almost becoming an obsession! Now that her wish was fulfilled, it felt like the dark clouds had suddenly cleared, revealing a bright and sunny sky.
She seemed much more relaxed.
"Let's eat!" After drinking two glasses of juice, Park Ji-hoon picked up his chopsticks and said.
"Okay—" Park Min-ya responded, drawing out the word. She had become more playful after the interview.
Park Ji-hoon picked up a piece of rib and put it in her bowl. After coming, she had endured hardships with him and taken care of him, which made him feel a bit heartbroken.
Park Min-ya's appetite was not large, and after a while, her speed slowed down. She propped her chin on one hand and held her chopsticks in the other, picking at the dishes. Seeing that Park Ji-hoon's bowl was empty, she picked some and put it in his bowl.
This had been happening for the past few days.
Due to the heavy physical exertion, Park Ji-hoon's appetite had clearly increased, and his physique had gradually become more robust.
"I'm looking forward to my brother's 'wife'!" Suddenly, Park Min-ya pouted and muttered.
【Congratulations to book friend "Aosheng Shenglong" on your birthday~~】
