Park Min-ah's eyes sparkled with a bright light, her gaze unwavering, not at all like a joke.
Park Ji-hoon let out a soft sigh. Although he was reluctant to dampen her enthusiasm, reality was reality.
"Brother!" As if seeing through Park Ji-hoon's thoughts, Park Min-ah continued before he could speak, "Did I scare you?"
Park Ji-hoon looked at her with a mix of amusement and exasperation and said, "It's not about being scared or not. Do you know how difficult it is to make a movie?" This little one was even using reverse psychology!
"I only know that no matter how long the road, it can be walked step by step, and no matter how short the road, it can't be reached without taking a step!" Park Min-ah said earnestly.
Park Ji-hoon fell silent. His tough experiences in childhood had honed his resilient character, which is why he hadn't been overwhelmed by mediocrity after ten years in the industry and had always persisted in his efforts. However, the passage of time had gradually dulled his sharpness. When he heard Park Min-ah's words, his first thought was "joke" and "how could it be possible"!
When did "reality" become an excuse for his mediocrity?
More terrifying than "reality" is always thinking that nothing you do will work or is impossible, and then feeling justified in doing nothing!
No matter how much you accumulate, if you don't burst forth, what's the point? A little bit of praise from the outside world seemed to have made him a bit too complacent.
Park Min-ah didn't say anything more, just stared at him, the light in her eyes never fading.
"How did you suddenly think of this?" After pursing his lips, Park Ji-hoon asked.
"I've been thinking about it for a long time!" Park Min-ah noticed his change in mood, her eyes brightening as she sat cross-legged facing him and explained, "I started thinking about this after getting to know Brother better. Five years of accumulation should be enough, right?"
"This isn't something that can be done just because I think I can," Park Ji-hoon explained with a smile. Sharpness doesn't mean blindness. He didn't deny his abilities. Not just the past five years, but even before his debut and during his military service, he had been thinking and learning. Without a solid foundation and observational experience, how could he have been so impressive as an assistant director on his first try? There are no geniuses born with innate knowledge in this world. However, in the entertainment industry, or in society as a whole, it doesn't matter how much talent you have; what matters most is external recognition!
"Why don't you give it a try?" Park Min-ah said, "Take the script to a film company and seek cooperation. If you do it, there's still a glimmer of hope; if you don't, you'll never have a chance."
"Where did you get the script?" Park Ji-hoon vaguely guessed something.
"I wrote it!" Indeed, Park Min-ah lifted her chin slightly and said.
"Aren't you writing a book?" Park Ji-hoon asked with a smile.
"A high school fantasy!" Park Min-ah explained, "Brother has been filming movies recently, so I didn't mention it."
Park Ji-hoon's lips twitched, and he asked, "A script?"
"A script!" Park Min-ah nodded without hesitation and handed him the "book."
Park Ji-hoon then realized that this wasn't a book at all, but a notebook. After flipping through it, he looked up and asked, "Aren't you studying business management?"
"What does that have to do with it?" Park Min-ah smiled mischievously, revealing two small, white canine teeth, and said, "My book was even published!"
Park Ji-hoon suddenly realized that he had underestimated her abilities!
Strictly speaking, the content in the notebook wasn't a standard script, but a quick browse showed that with a little adaptation, it could work.
Don't doubt his experience; over the past ten years, he had read no fewer than 100 scripts!
After he finished reading and looked up at her, Park Min-ah stuck out her pink tongue and made a small face, saying, "I know, Brother definitely wants to make a movie!"
Of course, he wanted to!
How could he not want to make a movie! If he didn't have this belief, how could he have spent five years devouring film and television magazines and books?
"Alright, I'll take the notebook." Park Ji-hoon raised the notebook in his hand and said. He had only glanced at the format; the specific content still needed a thorough read.
"Okay!" Park Min-ah nodded.
"Get some rest." Park Ji-hoon said, getting up to return to his room.
"By the way, Brother!" Park Min-ah suddenly thought of something and called out to Park Ji-hoon.
"Is there something else?" Park Ji-hoon asked.
"Do you want me to buy you a bamboo pillow?" Park Min-ah asked.
"Ah!" Park Ji-hoon's expression stiffened, and he called out in a mix of anger and embarrassment.
However, Park Min-ah had already anticipated his reaction. After saying this, she jumped off the sofa and quickly fled to her room, making a face at him before closing the door.
"Bang!" The living room fell silent.
Park Ji-hoon smiled lightly, looked down at the notebook in his hand, and his lips formed a firm line as he turned and went back to his room.
He didn't turn off the light; Park Min-ah would come out to take a shower soon.
...
"Brother! How was it?" The next morning, as soon as she woke up, Park Min-ah asked Park Ji-hoon her first question.
Park Ji-hoon didn't answer but stared at her from left to right, with a strange expression.
"Brother—" Park Min-ah called out again.
"How did you come up with all this? It doesn't seem to relate to your life at all," Park Ji-hoon finally asked. Last night, he had read her story word for word, and to his surprise, it was of a very high standard!
"By using my brain!" Park Min-ah answered with a grin.
"Hmm?" Park Ji-hoon's face suddenly darkened, and he clenched his fist, saying, "Are you saying I don't have a brain?"
"Of course not! It's just that Brother... Ah!" Before she could finish, he reached out his hand, and she screamed and ran away.
"Don't run!" Park Ji-hoon chased after her.
After the shoot, his body and mind relaxed, and he became much more cheerful.
"Ha... ha... Min-ah! I was wrong." In the end, he was pinned down on the sofa by Park Min-ah, his body curled up, protecting his armpits and waist.
"Hmph!" Park Min-ah quickly pinched his nose and let him go.
Park Ji-hoon relaxed his body in resignation. He had just been threatened by Park Min-ah with washing his socks. He had been spoiled by her and really didn't want to wash his own socks anymore, so he chose to be "bullied."
Perhaps because she had bullied him, Park Min-ah put a bit more effort into breakfast, making him an omelet.
The crispy, golden egg wrap, the sweet and sour homemade chili sauce, the fragrant sausage cubes, the sweet and chewy carrot cubes... the combination of ingredients made Park Ji-hoon eye Park Min-ah's plate after finishing his own.
"I knew it!" Park Min-ah said, pushing the plate towards him. As a chef, seeing her dishes so well-liked made her very happy.
"My milk is for you!" Park Ji-hoon pushed his milk towards her and said.
Park Min-ah didn't refuse.
After breakfast, Park Ji-hoon went to the post-production studio for "Uncle." He had only given himself one day off; he had been silent for ten years and couldn't afford to waste time.
In the evening, he continued to revise the script.
The next morning, he had a tight schedule for "We Got Married."
Originally, he and Seohyun had free time yesterday, but the "We Got Married" staff couldn't free up—Nickhun from 2PM and Victoria from f(x) had joined as a new couple and were shooting yesterday.
In front of the new house in Sangdo-dong, Seohyun had just gotten out of the car.
"Good morning, Oppa." Seeing Park Ji-hoon, Seohyun greeted him first. She still wasn't used to calling him "Husband" and often switched to "Oppa."
"Good morning." Park Ji-hoon nodded and greeted her with a light smile, saying, "You look very pretty!" A soft pink sportswear set outlined her slender figure, her long hair flowing over her shoulders. Compared to when they first met, she looked more beautiful and elegant. He also meant to flatter her, as he felt a bit guilty for the past two months.
"Thank you." Seohyun instinctively thanked him.
"Let's go for a walk in the back mountain." Park Ji-hoon suggested. They hadn't received their task card yet, so they didn't know what today's task was.
"Sure!" Seohyun's eyes lit up, and she nodded quickly. Clearly, it suited her preferences.
There was a small park on the back mountain where many elderly people exercised.
"Are you not cold?" After walking a short distance, feeling a bit awkward, Seohyun asked first. The morning air was a bit chilly, and Park Ji-hoon was only wearing a short-sleeved T-shirt.
"Refreshing!" Park Ji-hoon spread his arms to welcome the cool breeze.
It might have been a hallucination, but she felt he seemed a bit different. A curious look flashed in Seohyun's eyes, and she also spread her arms.
Seeing this, Park Ji-hoon's heart suddenly stirred. He stood behind her and gently grabbed her hands. He could smell a faint fragrance from her.
Seohyun's body trembled slightly but quickly returned to normal, softly calling out, "Titanic!"
"Please PS us out when it airs," Park Ji-hoon said to the staff with a smile.
"Please!" Seohyun also added, adjusting her pose to match.
After posing, Park Ji-hoon didn't push his luck, let go of her hands, and continued walking side by side.
Many elderly people, either exercising or resting, turned to watch them.
"Girls' Generation!" One of the elderly recognized Seohyun.
"Yes! Nice to meet you all," Seohyun greeted them respectfully.
Park Ji-hoon also bowed slightly.
An auntie stood up, seemingly a big fan of Girls' Generation. After saying "fighting" to Seohyun, she even gave her a cookie!
She completely ignored Park Ji-hoon beside her.
Park Ji-hoon smiled awkwardly, greeted them, and continued walking. Suddenly, he felt a light tap on his back and turned to see Seohyun's bright face.
"Sorry," Seohyun said softly.
"It's okay, I'll keep trying," Park Ji-hoon smiled and said. This innocent girl had actually said it out loud! Although it was well-intentioned, she really wasn't good at social graces.
"Fight!" Seohyun raised her fist to encourage him.
"Fight," Park Ji-hoon responded with a slight twitch of his lips.
A moment later, he suddenly noticed that she was eating the cookie in a peculiar way, like a squirrel, nibbling on it bit by bit. A cookie that could be eaten in two bites was only half-finished.
He vaguely guessed what was going on and reached out his hand, saying, "Give me the cookie."
