Darkness and vastness, two words that should not be used together, yet both aptly describe the universe.
But even in the dark universe, there are occasionally some vibrant colors. Just like now!
A bright silver light silently glided through the dark space, flying toward the distance.
This was a spacecraft, a common passenger spacecraft in the New Era, also known as a space shuttle. It was 534 meters long and 168 meters wide, with a silver-white coating, representing the strongest of the three major powers in the New Era, the Northern Alliance.
This space shuttle could carry both people and a large amount of cargo. They had fixed routes, traveling between various administrative planets through safe wormholes discovered by humans over the past century.
Not far away, a huge planet was already in sight. This was the capital planet of the Northern Alliance, Luo Planet, a larger administrative planet than Tianhuo Planet, with half of its area suitable for human habitation.
As it approached its destination, the space shuttle began to slow down, preparing to enter the atmosphere of Luo Planet.
The speed of entering the atmosphere cannot be too fast, otherwise, even a space shuttle would disintegrate.
Just as the space shuttle suddenly decelerated to about three times the speed of sound, the space on the left side suddenly twisted slightly, and a faint, indistinct shadow quietly attached itself.
More surprisingly, the space shuttle had no reaction to this. Its sensitive radar seemed to completely fail to detect the arrival of the shadow.
Suddenly, the space shuttle violently trembled, and a faint blue electric light flickered on its left side, causing the entire space shuttle to shake violently.
"Beep! Beep! Beep!"
Inside the space shuttle, a shrill alarm sounded!
Besen was an old captain with thirty years of experience in piloting space shuttles, having over 100,000 hours of flight time. Facing the alarm from the spacecraft, he calmly picked up the communicator.
"Please sit down and fasten your seatbelts. We have encountered a space magnetic current outside the atmosphere. We will delay entering the atmosphere for a while. Everything will be fine soon. We will also delay the deep sleep awakening procedure in the passenger cabin."
Captain Besen's judgment seemed correct. A moment later, the space shuttle's trembling stopped, and everything returned to normal.
In a space shuttle, more than 70% of the loading space is used for cargo. The remaining space is for personnel transport, which is the passenger cabin.
The passenger cabin is divided into three classes: first class, second class, and economy class, also known as the civilian class.
The prices of the three different classes vary greatly, as do the services.
In the civilian class, each person has less than one square meter of space, with a simple seat and a metal strap that resembles a torture device. During light-speed travel, deep sleep relies on a helmet that is far from comfortable.
The second class is better, at least allowing one to lie down while wearing the helmet, so waking up from deep sleep doesn't leave one feeling as if they've been beaten up like in the civilian class.
As for the first class, it can only be described as luxurious. Each first-class cabin has 20 square meters of space, a standard and comfortable sleep pod, a luxurious seat that can be used for sitting or lying down, and a shower and changing room.
Sleeping in a sleep pod during space travel not only provides the best rest but, more importantly, the sleep pod, combined with the nutrient solution, keeps the body in a state of minimal consumption, slowing down the aging process. After all, a long-distance flight can last more than a month. Compared to the terrifying process of losing at least ten pounds in the civilian class, the first class can help one adjust to their best state.
The price of a first-class ticket is ten times that of a second-class ticket and one hundred times that of a civilian class ticket!
In a standard space shuttle, there are only about thirty first-class cabins, as the extremely high price means very few people choose it. The second class is sufficient to meet the needs of a normal person's body during travel.
Under the effect of the sleep pod's awakening program, Leng Lingxi gradually came out of her deep sleep.
"Ugh... I slept so well!" she mumbled, then found the green button to open the pod door through the mask. She gently pressed it, and the top of the sleep pod opened.
Leng Lingxi sat up from the somewhat sticky nutrient solution, revealing her beautiful figure. She removed the breathing mask from her face, took a breath of fresh air, and immediately looked relieved. However, she soon shook off the liquid on her hands with some disgust.
"First class is comfortable to sleep in, but this nutrient solution is so sticky and uncomfortable. Can't they improve it to be more like water?"
Each first-class cabin has a partition. Even if the first-class cabins are full, as long as the partitions are open, one cannot see the others.
Climbing out of the sleep pod, she washed off the nutrient solution in the shower and changed into her dry clothes. Leng Lingxi immediately felt much more comfortable.
She stretched her body vigorously, did a few large yoga movements, and then walked to her seat, opening the partition.
The partition beside her slowly retracted with a slight mechanical sound, revealing the corridor next to her cabin and the outside view.
Hmm, someone is faster than me? Leng Lingxi looked at the position to her left in surprise. The partition of that first-class cabin was also open, and a person was sitting in the seat.
It was a young man with short black hair, wearing a dark blue tracksuit, and a very handsome face.
Wearing a tracksuit in first class? This discovery piqued Leng Lingxi's curiosity. She had never seen such a first-class passenger before. Generally, shouldn't they be wearing a well-tailored suit or fashionable clothing, ready to start working as soon as they disembark?
Leng Lingxi was an exception herself, as she was wearing a white tracksuit, so another exception easily caught her interest.
"Hi, hello. I don't think I saw you when we boarded the ship?" Leng Lingxi's personality was completely different from her surname; she was not cold but very warm and outgoing.
The young man's face showed a faint smile, and he nodded at her very gentlemanly, "Hello, beautiful lady."
What perfect manners, and he doesn't seem to be putting on an act, "Waking up to find a handsome man beside me is a pleasant surprise. My name is Leng Lingxi."
The young man seemed intrigued by the ambiguity in her words, his lips curling into a smile, "It's an honor. I am Zeus!"
