Unconsciously, an hour had passed.
After thinking for so long, Huang Yi still had no clue. It was almost time for lunch, so he logged out of the Second World.
"Mealtime!" As soon as he logged out of the Second World, Huang Yi heard the voice of the guard outside the cell. Then, a bowl of white rice with green vegetables was passed in.
Huang Yi took off the ring, hid it, and then slowly walked out.
Lunch was still white rice with green vegetables. Huang Yi was already used to it. He picked up the bowl and ate calmly, showing no emotion on his face.
"Next week, your solitary confinement will end, and you can be transferred to the public cell," the guard outside the door watched Huang Yi vigilantly and reminded him.
Huang Yi was unmoved and continued eating as if he hadn't heard.
The two guards outside were slightly surprised. For most prisoners, this was a great piece of news. In the public cell, they could chat with other prisoners, and life wouldn't be as monotonous as in solitary confinement. But now, Huang Yi showed no joy, as if nothing could stir his emotions anymore.
What they didn't know was that Huang Yi was no longer just a prisoner. His consciousness could enter the vast Second World, making him no different from people outside the prison. Naturally, he wouldn't be moved by this news.
...
In the blink of an eye, three days had passed.
During these three days, Huang Yi shuttled between reality and the virtual world. In Rose Prison, he was a normal prisoner, but in Hero Prison, he was a player striving for a rare task.
That night, Huang Yi logged into the terminal as usual, but he didn't enter the game. Instead, he went to the forum.
"AP Exclusive Interview: A Retrospective on the First American Player [Kidd]'s Rare Task!"
"Guild Master of War Dragon [Heavenly Mad Sword]: Tips for Defeating a Level 93 Rare Task Boss."
"Independent Player [Silent Apricot Tooth]: Quick Guide to Completing Rare Tasks."
...
As soon as he entered the game forum, he saw some highly clicked and sticky threads, mostly rare task guides written by top players for other players to reference. Huang Yi had read some of these posts before, but since everyone's tasks were different, there wasn't much to learn from them, and they were basically of little help.
According to the official forum data, out of the current 10 billion players worldwide, only 5,572 had completed rare tasks, averaging one person out of every 2 million.
There were also some players who, although they hadn't completed rare tasks, had performed well and completed half of them, achieving over 50% completion, qualifying them for random rare races!
However, in terms of their professions, they could still only choose ordinary professions. There were about 5 million such players, accounting for one in 2,000 of the total player base.
From this, one could see how difficult rare tasks were. Even completing half was already a significant achievement, and Huang Yi's task was even more challenging, making it even harder to complete.
Huang Yi continued to scroll down.
"Top Ten Divine Artifacts of the Second World!"
At this point, Huang Yi saw a highly ranked post. This post wasn't marked as a sticky by the moderator, but it had over 1 billion clicks! Huang Yi clicked in to take a look.
"I am [Blazing], my race is Ancient Scholar, and my profession is Explorer. I also studied alchemy, so I have a good understanding of artifacts. Everyone knows that each country in the Second World has its own continent, making the total number of continents over 200. With over 200 continents, the number of artifacts is countless. Even someone like me, who has studied this, can only recognize a small portion. Based on what I currently know, the top ten artifacts are as follows."
1. Crystal of the God King
Review: I don't know what this is, but I once saw a brief description in the notes of the greatest alchemist, Silverwater the Demon Refiner: Crystal of the God King, the first divine artifact of all continents!
2. Tears of the Gods
Review: As the name suggests, the Tears of the Gods are the tears of the gods, the most important material for creating divine artifacts. In the Second World, there are only 10 known divine artifacts. To obtain additional divine artifacts, one must use a large amount of precious materials, and the Tears of the Gods are the most important of these materials. It is said that the death of Silverwater the Demon Refiner was related to a drop of the Tears of the Gods.
3. Water of the Covenant
Review: Everyone knows that after a servant and master sign a master-servant contract, the servant's life is completely tied to the master. If the master dies, the servant dies as well. Only if the master lives can the servant live. Therefore, the Water of the Covenant is the most precious divine artifact in the eyes of servants, as it can wash away any contract, even one signed with a god. The last god to ascend, Ascender Blood Hoof, was once a servant of the Fire God. Later, Blood Hoof obtained a drop of the Water of the Covenant, washed away this disgrace, and ultimately ascended to godhood.
...
Huang Yi continued to read through the list. The artifacts listed by this player were only those he knew, not a comprehensive ranking of all artifacts. The artifacts in the Second World were endless, and there were definitely some that surpassed these, but this player simply didn't know about them.
As he read, Huang Yi suddenly raised his eyelids and saw a familiar item—
9. Tears of Time
Review: The tears of the God of Time, containing the secrets of time. Consuming it allows the eyes to mutate, becoming indestructible and gaining the ability to see through the past and future.
Tears of Time! Huang Yi immediately recalled the 250-level nine-headed hydra, Deadscale, in Hero Prison. It had stolen the God of Death's Tears of Time, which is why it was captured by the God of Death and imprisoned in Hero Prison. He never expected the Tears of Time to be such a powerful artifact, capable of seeing through the past and future!
Half an hour later, Huang Yi entered the game.
"Mr. One-Second Kill, you're finally here!" As soon as he appeared in Hero Prison, Huang Yi heard the voice of Warden Ross behind him.
"Yep, I'm back," Huang Yi turned to look at Ross, then turned to walk into the stone room.
"Mr. One-Second Kill..." At this moment, Ross quickly called out to Huang Yi, his eyes filled with urgency. "You only have three months to complete your task. Time is tight, please try harder! We will wait outside the door for your good news!" After saying this, Ross and the four guards behind him looked expectantly at Huang Yi.
Huang Yi nodded, then turned and walked into the large golden stone room.
Inside the vast stone room, keys still flew through the air, creating brilliant streaks of light that seemed to never stop. Huang Yi looked up at them, as if he were gazing at a brilliant starry sky. The stars seemed to be right in front of him, but he could never reach out and grab them.
Huang Yi lowered his head, and suddenly, his gaze froze on the golden ground!
At that moment, something seemed to flash through his mind!
Huang Yi squatted down and carefully examined the golden ground. Under the flying keys, he squatted there, motionless, staring at the ground.
His thoughts were like a thread he had caught. When he pulled hard, he found that the thread brought up the entire puzzle!
He recalled everything that had happened during this time, every detail and every mystery in Hero Prison. Small events and insignificant details were connected, gradually becoming clear and complete, ultimately forming the full picture of the task.
After a long time, Huang Yi finally came to his senses, a slight smile appearing at the corners of his mouth.
He finally knew how to complete the task!
