Not sure whether for the sake of convenience in explanation or out of some perverse interest, the two items Hugo chose as the medium for summoning were placed in adjacent glass display cases. One was an old naval ceremonial sword, and the other was a rather aged lid of a box, with some pattern painted on it in faded gold.
The world of Harry Potter and Hugo's previous world should be very similar, at least in major historical events. This is why Hugo can summon those ship girls through things in this world.
However, from another perspective, although the general direction of history hasn't changed, there are still some differences in the details. For example, the box lid, which in his previous life was one of the few relics that drifted ashore after the Hood's explosion, was not placed in this museum. And the ceremonial sword of the Vittorio Veneto's captain, which he had never even heard of in his previous life.
But no matter what, the presence of these items here definitely made it easier for Hugo to summon the ship girls from his game. So, after silently thanking the two great deities of this world, Gaia and Alaya, he began to prepare for the summoning.
"What should I do now?" Standing in front of the two adjacent glass cases, Hugo asked Victory, who was keeping watch outside, through their soul connection. "Do I need to do something, like recite some incantations or perform some rituals? Or maybe dance around these glass cases?"
"How complicated can it be? Summoning is a very serious matter, absolutely not the kind of feudal superstition you just mentioned," Victory said righteously. "The method to summon them should have been linked to your soul since you came to this world. Now, focus carefully, and it should feel as natural as eating or breathing to you."
"Alright, I understand." Hugo closed his eyes, slowed his breathing, and gradually entered a meditative state. When his mind calmed down, he saw the phone he had previously stored inside his body floating in his heart as a shadow. At the same time, he felt his fingertips twitching with the heartbeat, as if something was about to burst out from them.
Just as Victory had said, this was Hugo's instinct, like breathing. Less than a minute after entering the meditative state, he suddenly opened his eyes and quickly pointed his right index finger at the two glass cases.
Instantly, two light balls the size of ping-pong balls flew out from Hugo's fingertip, quickly becoming brighter. By the time they merged into the box lid and the sword, they were as bright as two small suns.
After absorbing these two light points, the two items began to emit a soft white light from the inside out. Then, pure white light threads quickly sketched and outlined on the two glass cases. In just a few blinks, two miniature warships composed entirely of points and lines floated quietly on the glass cases.
As more light filled the gaps between the points and lines of the two miniature warships, the light warships slowly flew down from the glass cases to the ground and rapidly expanded. They emitted even brighter light, forcing Hugo to cover his eyes with his hand.
Through the gaps between his fingers, Hugo saw the two light balls quickly transform. Like red-hot steel under a ten-thousand-ton hydraulic press, they began to deform, their silhouettes slowly changing from ships to human forms.
When the light dissipated, two women with ship equipment stood quietly in front of Hugo. One looked like a tall teenager around seventeen or eighteen, with golden hair resting on her blue short cape, wearing a red half-frame glasses, and holding a teacup and saucer.
The other was much shorter, with ruby-red eyes and snow-white hair, wearing a black pinafore dress, and holding a cup of coffee. She looked to be about eleven or twelve years old.
"Good day, I am the pride of the Royal Navy, Hood. Commander, would you like a cup of tea?" "Buonasera, signor ammiraglio, I belong to the Italian Royal Navy, the Vittorio Veneto-class battleship, Vittorio Vento. It is an honor to meet you, and I look forward to your assistance in our naval duties." The two voices almost simultaneously echoed in the exhibition hall.
After introducing themselves, the two girls put away their items and simultaneously saluted Hugo. Although they were just two beautiful girls, Hugo felt a unique killing aura from them, as if they were veterans who had survived countless battles.
Only after they finished saluting did Hugo, who had been in shock, react and hastily return the salute. However, before he could say anything to the two ship girls, Victory's voice suddenly echoed in his mind.
"My admiral, the noise you made during the summoning was too loud. Two security teams are now running towards you. Although they look a bit overweight and are panting, they should reach you in about five to six minutes. By the way, did you successfully summon them?"
"Everything is OK, we need to retreat now." Hugo, while contacting Victory, waved to the two ship girls to follow him and quickly ran towards the restroom he had just passed. As he turned the corner, he saw the two ship girls had already put away their ship equipment and were closely following him.
When he ran out of the passage and sprinted towards the restroom, he gently grabbed Victory, who had been observing the security guards from the railing, and put her in his shirt pocket.
By the time the four security guards, who had been alerted, entered the exhibition hall where Hugo and the others had been and began a meticulous but futile search, Hugo had already successfully led the two ship girls and his instructor Victory to a street on the south side of the museum, lined with restaurants and shops.
After crossing the bustling street and turning west onto a quiet street, Hugo returned to his original state and stopped in a corner, then began to ask the two ship girls about their conditions, such as their current state.
After all, the game background is one thing, but having real ship girls standing in front of him was another. As an admiral, he naturally needed to understand their situation. Fortunately, these ship girls would not hide any secrets from their admiral or commander, and would be completely honest. Therefore, they answered Hugo's questions without reservation.
From the explanations of the two girls, Hugo learned what ship girls truly represented: they were essentially spirits, non-flesh beings with their own lives and souls.
At the same time, they had three states. One was the current state, which looked like ordinary humans, and ship girls would usually maintain this state in daily life. Another was the combat state, where they appeared with ship equipment when summoned. The last state was the deployment state, where they could move as warships on the sea.
Although they were not carbon-based like most creatures in this world, they could still eat like humans. However, unlike humans, daily eating and drinking could only maintain their human-like state, and to use their ship equipment in combat, they needed additional oil, ammunition, steel, and aluminum supplies.
According to Hood, they were currently in a fully supplied state, with enough resources to fight three to five Jutland-style sea battles. Moreover, because they were accepted by this world, they could receive 110 daily supplies from the port, which was still in a separate small world.
"Of course, if you want to quickly resupply, you need to summon a supply ship," Hood concluded. "They are equipped with special devices that can continuously produce the four required resources as long as they can touch the sea."
