After finishing his call with Xiong Zhiqi, Zhao Zhu took a deep breath, turned off the screen of his phone, and wiped the sweat from his forehead. However, when he turned around and his gaze swept over the ward door, he noticed a female nurse standing there, looking at him through the glass of the ward door, a strange smile on her lips.

Zhao Zhu's heart sank, knowing that things were not good. Sure enough, the female nurse began to unlock the door with a key, and the sound of the lock and key clashing could be heard from outside, but the door did not open. Clearly, she was still trying to find the right key.

"Thank goodness it's not that bad."

Zhao Zhu muttered in relief. If the female psychiatric nurse had opened the door with the right key from the start, Zhao Zhu would have been in a truly desperate situation. Without further ado, Zhao Zhu hurriedly pushed the wardrobe, which was originally used to store the patient's clothes, over to the back of the ward door.

Immediately after, he looked around the ward, enduring the discomfort of his body and mind, and pushed the hospital bed to block the door.

At this moment, the lock clicked open, and someone outside began to push the door. However, with the wardrobe and the bed blocking the way, the door could not be pushed open.

However, the footsteps outside grew louder, and more nurses ran over, starting to push the door together. Now, Zhao Zhu, who was already bracing the door with his feet, felt the pressure. Although women are not very strong, the combined force of so many female psychiatric patients was formidable. Zhao Zhu felt his feet being pushed against the floor by the door.

The door had already been pushed open a crack, and a hand had already reached in, desperately trying to grab hold.

The pressure from behind grew stronger, and Zhao Zhu felt he was about to give in. But if the door were to be opened, even though he was skilled and had a good chance against one or even two men, he did not have the courage to face a group of female psychiatric patients armed with knives. At this moment, he could only hope to hold on as long as possible, ideally until Xiong Zhiqi arrived, though that was just a hope.

In fact, Zhao Zhu had planned to have Xiong Zhiqi call someone he knew, as he still had some connections in society. However, Xiong Zhiqi directly rejected this idea and insisted on coming himself. His meaning was clear: this was not something ordinary people could handle; it had already entered the realm of the supernatural. If such a scenario of psychiatric patients taking control of a hospital were to occur in a horror novel, it would be normal, but if it happened in reality, it meant something was seriously wrong!

Abnormal things must be dealt with by abnormal people!

"Damn it, you're taking too long to get here."

Zhao Zhu cursed under his breath, and with a single leg, he kicked the wall hard, using the rebound force to push the door back. With a "click," the door closed again, much to his surprise. Zhao Zhu quickly turned and relocked the door.

Outside, the sound of keys trying to unlock the door could be heard again, but it was clear that the female psychiatric patients outside would have to try slowly to open it again, at least giving Zhao Zhu a moment to catch his breath.

However, Murphy's Law was once again proven true. A sharp knocking sound came, and wood chips flew around Zhao Zhu's ears as the female psychiatric patients outside began to chop at the door with knives.

In less than a minute, the door was already riddled with over a dozen cracks, almost as fragile as paper.

Zhao Zhu knew he couldn't just wait to be killed, so he immediately crouched down, grabbed the bottom of the hospital bed with both hands, and used all his strength to flip the bed over, positioning it vertically. This height formed a diagonal triangle, blocking the space in front of the door, and the gap between the bed and the door was so small that even a child's hand couldn't fit through.

With a loud "bang," the ward door was split open, but the hospital bed blocked the female psychiatric patients, and their knives were useless against the bed, which was much sturdier than the door.

Due to the principles of mechanics, the force Zhao Zhu used to hold the bed was actually less than the force needed to hold the door, but the female psychiatric patients found it even harder to push the bed.

After a while, the commotion outside subsided, and Zhao Zhu waited a bit longer before turning his head slightly to peek through the narrow gap between the bed and the door. However, what he saw was a pair of eyes, a woman's eyes, pressed against the gap. A flash of cold light followed, and Zhao Zhu quickly turned his head away. The knife had managed to slip through the gap, cutting a large gash on his right cheek, blood streaming down. Fortunately, he had moved quickly, or his eye would have been gouged out.

The force of the female psychiatric patients pushing the bed came again, and Zhao Zhu, ignoring the blood on his face, had to use all his strength to hold the door, determined not to let the madwomen inside.

From start to finish, the standoff had lasted nearly half an hour. At this moment, Zhao Zhu noticed someone outside the window, which initially frightened him. If there were dangers both in front and behind, he would be in real trouble. However, upon closer inspection, he recognized the familiar chubby face of Xiong Zhiqi.

Xiong Zhiqi waved at Zhao Zhu, and then Zhao Zhu saw Xiong Zhiqi's hand turn red. He used that red hand to grasp one end of the guardrail, which quickly softened and turned to liquid. Xiong Zhiqi repeated the process with the other ends of the guardrail, creating a space large enough for an adult to pass through.

"Come on, quickly!" Xiong Zhiqi shouted.

The female psychiatric patients outside began to kick the bed, and Zhao Zhu felt he couldn't hold on much longer. Without hesitation, he sprinted to the window and leaped out. Thanks to his regular exercise, he managed to jump through the gap. Xiong Zhiqi, who had been lying on the guardrail, was also knocked down by Zhao Zhu, but since it was only the second floor and there was a green belt below, they only felt a bit of chest tightness after landing, with no serious injuries.

"Let's go, something big is happening here. On my way, I asked someone in the group to assess the situation, and they said there's a great evil presence here, though I don't know how it was summoned," Xiong Zhiqi said.

"Do you have to make it sound so ominous?"

"Anyway, we need to leave here. This place is too strange. The inpatient department has been taken over by that thing, and the outside and inside views are completely different."

"I need to go back to my dorm to get something," Zhao Zhu remembered the box he had left in his dorm, which contained items from Zhu Jianping's home, including a potion to stimulate his mental power and other things.

"Is it important?" Xiong Zhiqi asked.

Zhao Zhu nodded.

"Alright, I'll go with you," Xiong Zhiqi said, showing his loyalty.

The two of them ran towards the dormitory area, and on the way, they didn't encounter any problems. Zhao Zhu quickly took out his key and opened the dormitory door. However, when he stepped inside, he was shocked to find
