Chapter 3

Five minutes later, there was a knock on Gu Zhixiao’s door.

Gu Zhixiao, also known as TKOW Support.

TKOW, a MOBA esports team, had just won the Summer Playoffs of China Region, making it the third time for them to win this league. The glorious TKOW was even called by the fans and critics as ‘the dream destroyer team’.

Right now, TKOW’s support yanked the door open and cursed at the ace jungler of their team’s face, “Ren Jian, are you mental? It is one thirty in the morning, why are you knocking on my door instead of sleeping?”

“It is not like you were sleeping either. Besides, what is wrong with not sleeping at one thirty? We train until four thirty every day. One thirty is like evening for us, the night is still young, do you not agree?” Ren Jian smirked and leaned against the doorframe with his arms crossed.

“The key point is we need to get up at six thirty tomorrow morning for the video recording. Gee, this is what I do not get. For a domestic friendly league, why not have the second team come? We have just finished the Summer Playoffs, is two days’ break too much to ask?” Gu Zhixiao moved to the side to allow Ren Jian entrance.

Ren Jian slumped lazily on the sofa in the room and joked, “Better not be too full of yourself. There are many new teams coming in this league, and you never know, this new wave of teams might push out the old teams, leaving a swash like you to die on the beach.”

Gu Zhixiao rolled his eyes and drove the other away, “Shoo, get lost. Do not think I will not hit your dashing face because you have a large girlfriend, younger sister, and wife fanbase.”

Ren Jian stayed as a couch potato and dragged out each words, “Go~a~head~”

Gu Zhixiao emphasized back, “Go! Beat! It!”

Ren Jian sat up and looked around at the plainly decorated single room, and was suddenly unhappy. “Why do you all get to live in normal single rooms, while I get the strange room?”

Gu Zhixiao asked, “What is so strange about your room?”

Ren Jian replied, “I got a love suite.”

After a moment of shock, Gu Zhixiao laughed frantically. “Hahaha, a love suite hahaha, that is amazing hahaha. You deserve it. When the team’s assistant was booking our room, it was supposed to be five luxury single rooms. But because of how late he did it, all the luxury rooms were booked. He thought that you, the ace of the team, should not get anything less than a young master treatment. So he asked if there was a bigger room, or even a two-person room. The front desk said yes and booked it. It turned out to be a love suite hahaha.”

Between his laugh, Gu Zhixiao wiped away the tears from the corners of his eyes, saying, “But it is such a waste to get you a love suite!”

Ren Jian folded his arms and asked with a smile, “Oh? How so?”

Gu Zhixiao huffed, “Oh come on, it is not like we do not know about your lousy disorder like the outsiders.”

Thinking it was about time to leave, Ren Jian stood up and showed a smile that did not reach his eyes. “Come get me out of the door at six thirty tomorrow.”

“Fine, I will come get you. Why? Could it be that you have someone hiding in your room?” Gu Zhixiao scoffed.

Ren Jian smiled noncommittally and walked out of the room.

When Ren Jian returned to the love suite, Yu Qinghuan had finished his shower and was rummaging through the closet.

“What are you looking for?” Ren Jian questioned.

Yu Qinghuan replied, “I am looking for a spare blanket to use as a mat.”

Ren Jian hesitated for a moment and asked, “Do you behave yourself in your sleep? By that I mean, do you move around in your sleep?”

Yu Qinghuan pondered. “I do not think so.”

Like how would he know what kind of sleeper he was when he was asleep?

“Then there is no need for that, we can be both on the bed.” Ren Jian offered.

“Oh, okay.” Yu Qinghuan bluntly accepted. After all, sleeping in a bed is more comfortable than on the floor.

Both of them are men, so there is nothing to be awkward about. Not to mention they have to get up early tomorrow. Without more words, they got onto the round bed, and each took a side.

As soon as Ren Jian reached out and turned off the light, he suddenly heard Yu Qinghuan say quietly in the dark, “This is my first time…”

Ren Jian turned on the light again in fright.

Yu Qinghuan was blinded by the strong light and covered his eyes.

“First time what?” Ren Jian interrogated.

“First time staying in a love suite.” Yu Qinghuan finished, “What else?”

Ren Jian: “…”

Can you not say something so ambiguous?

He turned off the light again and lay down on his side. He felt the bed sink slightly on the other side—Yu Qinghuan also laid back down.

Ren Jian closed his eyes, but could not sleep. Beside him, Yu Qinghuan was breathing very quietly. He could hardly hear it, only hearing the sound of the AC blowing out cold air. However, he could smell the fragrance from Yu Qinghuan’s body, like the scent of milk shower gel right after washing. It was very light, but very hard to ignore.

Ren Jian was used to sleeping alone and felt a little uncomfortable. He turned his back to Yu Qinghuan and then moved towards the corner of the bed with a straight face.

Then a strange thing was pressed against his waist.

Ren Jian: “…”

Followed with a soft click sound.

The round bed suddenly shook with a strange frequency!!!

This fucking bed was fucking quaking!!!

Gaming edit:

Changed ‘domestic summer championship’ to LPL Summer Playoffs to Summer Playoffs of China Region. LPL means China Region of League of Legend. This playoff is usually the one that LPL teams compete to qualify a spot for the World Championship (out of many). I made this change because later in the story, they were praised for getting the first seed and the spot to the World Championship. I will explain the process once it shows up in the novel.
