This is the second episode of today.
It will be at the same time tomorrow. Please look forward to it.
As Heine was casting purification magic on the tentacles that were creeping towards him again, Euseus called out to him.
"Heine. Is it weak against purification magic?"
"Yes, it is, because it's ominous. It should be weak against purification magic and light magic."
"Got it."
Euseus stepped forward from behind Heine.
"Y-Your Highness Euseus!"
He raised his hand, gathering magic power into his small hand.
Heine was desperately casting purification magic on the tentacles that were creeping closer.
His magic power was about to run out.
He felt a little dizzy.
At that moment, a blinding light exploded from the palm of Euseus's hand.
Heine gasped and lost his words.
—This is... light magic, isn't it?
It reminded him of the light of Sirius's blessing.
Heine had seen Sirius from a distance when he greeted people at the palace.
The palace was crowded with people, so he was far away.
Still, he could see the blinding light from where he was.
It brought back that scene.
—Wasn't it a secret that the prince had light magic?
In the Anzelar Kingdom, the magic attributes of the royal family were not publicly announced. Especially for a young prince with a rare magic attribute, it would be carefully considered before making it public.
However, due to the emergency, the young prince decided to use magic.
Heine caught him as his frail body wobbled and almost fell.
"Heine, is the monster dead?"
Lucian peeked from the side, and Odine cautiously looked over the barricade.
"No, it's... not."
When he looked, there was still a strange sight.
"What is that...?"
Odine's face twisted as if she was about to cry.
"Is the monster splitting?"
Lucian muttered in shock.
In the area where the giant monster had been writhing, there were now a plant that looked like a bundle of thick purple vines, a creature resembling a boar, a wolf-like creature, and a tall vine-like plant with a bluish-black color.
There were four of them in total.
Each one resembled animals or plants but was something different.
Their colors were dark red, bluish-black, and purple, and their shapes were grotesque, with distorted forms and missing limbs. The plants had face-like fruits, which was very strange.
"It seems that this monster was forcibly combined," Heine answered, shielding Lucian and the others.
The children and the maids were still unconscious, but it was fortunate that they didn't have to see this.
The monsters had changed shape and become much calmer, but they were not dead yet.
"Combined?"
"Indeed, it's the work of a demon.
We must not let our guard down. Please stay here and don't get too close."
Heine gently laid Euseus down to rest beside him. It might be safer further back, but he didn't want to leave him too far away.
—Still, no guards have come...
The culprit was too well-prepared, Heine grumbled to himself.
The guards at the door should have noticed the commotion inside.
Normally, the guards assigned to Prince Euseus would never take their eyes off him.
And the useless maids who had fainted.
—The experienced maids and guards were deliberately excluded.
It would be impossible to exclude them unless there were suspicious people inside.
If the guard placements were changed for the event, then the person in charge of the arrangements must have been involved.
But that alone wouldn't be enough.
—They must have used very illegal and violent methods.
Heine was concerned about the servants, but he had no time to worry about them now.
He carefully watched the monsters that were still writhing.
If they were just stunned by Prince Euseus's light magic, they might become active again soon.
—Please, come to our aid quickly.
Sure enough, the monsters started moving again as he watched.
Heine hurriedly moved tables and chairs from a little distance to build a defensive wall in front of the children.
"Everyone, stay still."
He made a wall with as many tables and chairs as he could move.
He also dragged a small shelf that contained toys.
When Lucian tried to help, Heine stopped him with a smile.
"Lucian, please protect Prince Euseus and Odine."
He thought this would help a little. Just as he finished moving the shelf, an ominous sound came from behind.
"Heine!"
When he turned at Lucian's voice, he saw that the vine-like creature had suddenly become more active.
He tried to dodge, but it was too late.
A sharp, whip-like or flexible spear-like plant tentacle shot out, piercing Heine's body in the middle.
Blood splattered.
Heine staggered, barely holding himself up, and fell into the barricade he had built.
"Heine!"
Lucian moved Heine further into the barricade and threw a ball of water at the strange plant that had attacked him.
"I won't forgive you!"
The other three monsters also started to move.
Lucian commanded the monster that had absorbed his magic.
"You! Kill them!"
The strange plant changed direction and lashed its tentacle whip at the other monsters.
The tentacle pierced the neck of the boar-like monster.
The boar creature screamed and thrashed, spewing blue fluid from its neck.
The plant monster, raising its tentacle, extended it towards the wolf-like monster, but the wolf was faster.
The wolf bit off the tentacle and leaped at the plant monster, tearing its fruit-like face with its fangs.
The plant monster let out a screeching death cry.
The wolf monster then leaped towards Lucian.
Lucian used a chair as a shield and threw ice pebbles at the wolf.
The hideous wolf opened its drooling mouth wide and attacked without hesitation, even after being hit by the ice pebbles.
Lucian hit the wolf with the chair, and the wolf bit into the chair's leg.
Odine was suddenly right beside him.
"Odine! Don't come out!"
Lucian forcefully pushed the chair's leg into the wolf's mouth.
Odine shouted.
"Get down!"
The wolf monster tumbled and fell to the ground.
"Huh?"
The wolf then rolled over and thrashed.
While watching the thrashing wolf, the remaining plant-like monster writhed and pushed the wolf aside like a snake.
"Ah!"
Odine hurriedly backed away.
Lucian created a ball of water and threw it at the snake-like monster.
As soon as the water hit, the snake-like plant monster slowed down.
"You! Kill the wolf!"
Lucian commanded, and the plant monster wrapped itself around the wolf's belly.
The wolf groaned and bit the snake-like plant monster.
Greenish blood splattered.
The wolf, with its eyes wide open, tried to bite off the snake's tail.
"Disgusting..."
Odine covered her mouth and sat down beside Lucian.
"Odine, come behind me!"
"Hey, don't be so bossy!"
Despite her words, Odine obediently moved behind Lucian and sat between him and the still dazed Euseus.
Lucian took off his formal jacket and wrapped it around Heine's blood-soaked abdomen.
He wanted to stop the bleeding, but he didn't know how.
For a while, there had been a loud banging on the door.
It seemed that the room was protected by a barrier.
Suddenly, a loud noise was heard, and the door finally cracked open.
"Prince Euseus!"
"Odine!"
"Lucian!"
People rushed in.
Sirius and the others saw the strange monsters, the unconscious maids and children with their eyes rolled back, the hastily built barricade, the blood-soaked old butler, and Lucian and the others sitting around the butler.
