"Welcome back, Master Allen. How did the Hunter Exam go?"
The old butler, in his sixties, bent down and bowed deeply, a pleased expression appearing on his usually stern face.
It was clear that he held a deep affection for the youngest member of the family.
"Not too well, I was defeated by someone else and didn't pass the exam," Allen responded, mimicking the tone he remembered.
There was no need to ask; the sprawling, lavishly decorated villa was clearly the home of the original body's family.
Although he didn't really want to return, he had suddenly received a call from his "father" after wandering around for two months after leaving the hospital, forcing him to travel a long distance by airship to this small town just over a hundred kilometers from Yorknew City to attend a family gathering.
"Is that so? That's too bad. But I believe with your talent and effort, Master, you will definitely pass next year," the old butler smiled and encouraged him.
Allen nodded lightly, "Yes! That's what I think too. Also, have someone prepare some fresh and delicious raw meat; my partner, Rubeus, is hungry."
"Ow!"
Hearing that food was coming, the silver giant wolf immediately raised his head and let out a piercing howl in excitement.
Even without using Nen, the powerful aura and wild voice still made many of the male and female servants in the house feel a chill, some even dropping the trays they were holding, trembling uncontrollably.
"Understood! Please rest assured, I will ensure the kitchen prepares a large amount of the finest meat for it," the old butler said, trying to suppress his fear as he glanced at Rubeus.
At first, he thought the silver wolf was just beautiful, like those fierce-looking but harmless pets.
But from that howl, he immediately realized this was an incredibly powerful and dangerous beast, capable of easily tearing apart all the armed guards inside and outside the villa.
"Thank you! If there's nothing else, I'll go to my room first. Don't disturb me until the dinner starts."
With that, Allen gave Rubeus the command to eat through their soul connection, then followed the stairs to the second floor and entered the room that belonged to "him."
As soon as he pushed open the door, he immediately smelled a familiar floral scent.
Looking closely, the room was densely filled with hundreds of light purple flowers, covering almost every corner.
Near the window, there was a bed, a table, and two chairs. On the table was a computer from this world, and there was nothing else special.
But the simple arrangement, combined with the floral scent, made his body relax involuntarily, as if a wild beast had returned to its den and felt incredibly safe.
Clearly, this was a long-formed conditioned reflex. For the original body's owner, this room was the place where he felt the safest in the world, a place called "home."
"So, this is your final obsession? Home! Family! Don't worry, since I have inherited your body and name, I will help you fulfill your wish," Allen muttered to himself as he closed the door.
As Franklin, a member of the Phantom Troupe, said, Nen does not disappear with death.
On the contrary, some Nen becomes even stronger with death.
This was one of the reasons why he appeared here!
If he couldn't fulfill the original body's final wish, this obsession would continue to haunt him, even growing stronger with his increasing power, eventually turning into a curse or a hex.
But if he did, these obsessions and wishes would transform into powerful forces and merge with him, granting him a special Nen ability.
Moreover, since he had taken over someone else's body and inherited most of the original owner's memories, as Nen awakened, it was as if he had two lives, two sets of memories.
No!
That's not right!
It's three!
There was also a set of memories belonging to the Dark Elf Hunter.
Realizing this, Allen couldn't help but laugh and sigh, "Nen is truly a complex and profound power. I'm looking forward to seeing what kind of traits my Nen will display during the attribute test."
As he spoke, the sound of a car engine suddenly came from outside the window.
Several black sedans slowly drove through the garden and parked in front of the main entrance, from which three men and two women emerged.
The oldest man, naturally, was the head of the family, Agostino, the father of the original body's owner.
The other four, who were younger, were the eldest brother, second brother, third sister, and fourth sister.
As for the mother of the original body's owner, she had died of illness a few years ago.
It was this tragedy that spurred the young original body's owner to desire becoming a Hunter, hoping to find a cure for all diseases to prevent such things from happening again.
"Everyone is here? Could there be a problem with the family business?" Allen rubbed his chin, trying to analyze the limited fragments of memory.
Due to his young age, the original body's owner clearly didn't know what the family was actually doing.
He only knew that from the age of six, he received a total of 100 million Jenny in "pocket money" from his father and siblings every year, which continued until his death.
If it was a normal, legal business, that would be fine.
But if it was related to the Yorknew City underworld, it would be a big problem.
Just as he closed his eyes to search for clues in the scattered memories, Agostino had already entered the living room with his children and asked the butler, "Has Allen returned?"
"Yes, Master returned just a few minutes ago. He is in his room now. Should I call him down?" the old butler asked proactively.
"Um! Go and call him down! The time we have left may be short!"
Agostino, touching the diamond ring on his right ring finger, gave a definite answer.
"Understood! Please wait a moment!"
The old butler, noticing this gesture, became extremely serious.
He had served this family for a lifetime and knew that Agostino only touched his ring when he was extremely nervous or anxious.
Combined with the tense bodies and slightly panicked eyes of the other four adult children, it was likely that something serious had happened.
So he ran up to the second floor as quickly as possible and knocked on the door of the bedroom at the end of the hall.
"Is the dinner early?" Allen opened the door and asked, feigning confusion.
"No! Not the dinner! Your father has asked you to come to the main hall downstairs immediately. If I'm not mistaken, he may be in big trouble," the old butler answered straightforwardly.
"Understood! Please give me a few minutes; I need to change and prepare," Allen's eyes flashed with a barely noticeable light.
"Please hurry! Your father is very afraid and anxious. I've never seen him so nervous," the old butler urged loudly as the door was about to close, his tone filled with urgency.
