Tarkan looked at the hand that was boldly pushed in front of him.
‘What kind of woman is this?’
Now, he was not just baffled but on the verge of going mad.
“It’s fine.”
When Tarkan didn’t react, Aristine met his eyes as if to reassure him.
“I’ll just hold your hand while we sleep. I won’t touch you in any other way. Trust me.”
Her face was incredibly serious.
Tarkan felt like he was being seduced by some strange person.
They looked like complete opposites, so how did it come to this?
Aristine, who was always like a water lily, appeared so pure and clean, even as she tried to manipulate him.
He wanted to dig into her and find out what was inside this woman.
Aristine tilted her head when she saw Tarkan’s lack of reaction.
“You’ll take care of me…?”
She asked, as if seeking confirmation, while subtly gauging his reaction.
‘What does she mean by that?’
He had no idea what she meant by taking care of him.
He didn’t even want to know.
A headache was starting to throb.
With a feeling of his head about to explode, Tarkan rubbed his forehead.
What was he supposed to do with this woman?
Tarkan let out a deep, long sigh.
A mysterious woman.
He decided to start by confirming what he could understand.
“So, when you said you wanted a soft bed, you meant you wanted to sleep in a soft place, right?”
Just sleeping, nothing more, no hidden meanings.
Pure sleep.
“Yeah.”
“I’ll sleep on the floor.”
“Yeah.”
Aristine nodded.
Her face showed no particular emotion, almost as if she was questioning why Tarkan was reacting this way.
“Ha.”
Tarkan let out a hollow laugh, feeling even more baffled after confirming.
Who would think of making Tarkan sleep on a hard floor without a blanket?
Even though he had a commoner mother, Tarkan was a direct descendant of the king.
He had never been treated this way.
But this woman didn’t seem to have any malice.
It didn’t seem like she was looking down on Tarkan because of his noble blood.
Aristine defensively hugged the blanket.
“It’s too much to ask me to sleep on the floor now. You didn’t say anything when I mentioned the soft bed.”
“Do you really like the bed that much?”
It was a question asked out of exasperation.
But Aristine nodded seriously.
“Yeah, I’ve always wanted to sleep in a soft bed every night. I promised myself I would do it when I got out of there.”
She wanted to end her day by washing up, lying in a soft bed, and covering herself with a well-dried blanket.
It would feel like a happy ending.
No matter what happened during the day, the last memory would be a happy one.
“……”
Tarkan plopped down on the bed.
Indeed, it was an exceptionally soft bed.
It seemed like it could absorb any shock.
Hearing Aristine’s words, he could roughly guess how she had lived while under house arrest.
But normally, no one would make their husband sleep on the floor.
Especially not on their wedding night…
He muttered to himself.
Then he suddenly clamped his mouth shut.
This sounded like he wanted to sleep with her.
Aristine, who didn’t even consider sleeping with him, seemed to find it regrettable that he was thinking of sleeping separately.
‘No, no.’
That wasn’t it at all.
He was just using common sense out of bafflement, not implying anything.
Just a moment ago, Tarkan was seriously worrying about how to get through the wedding night with Aristine.
“……”
Thinking about it again made him feel embarrassed.
Aristine had no such thoughts, yet he had worried about her wanting him.
It was completely his own delusion.
It wasn’t entirely his fault.
After all, many women did want to sleep
