"Let's go!"
With a faint glance at Li Yunchong, Li Wuqing did not answer his question but left only two words before walking out.
In the cluttered room, one person had fainted, and another was too weak to get up. The two people in the hall, though still able to move, truly realized the gap between them and did not dare to stop him.
Standing in the courtyard, Li Wuqing said to Li Yunchong, who was following behind, "Call your dad and tell him what happened here, and let him handle it."
Li Yunchong stared, correcting him, "Brother, he's our dad."
Li Yunchong's words surprised Li Wuqing a bit.
Li Wuqing and Li Yunchong's relationship had always been poor. Li Wuqing found Li Yunchong annoying, and Li Yunchong looked down on Li Wuqing.
Despite their mutual dislike, they rarely interacted in daily life, and conflicts were generally not escalated. Even when they met, they would not call each other "brother" or "younger brother."
This time, not only did he call him "brother," but he also emphasized "our dad," something that had never happened in Li Wuqing's memory.
Feeling somewhat surprised, a wave of defiance and annoyance also rose in Li Wuqing. He glared at Li Yunchong and said coldly, "Stop talking nonsense and call him to clean up your mess."
When Li Wuqing was angry, the killing intent he had cultivated amidst mountains of corpses and seas of blood surged towards Li Yunchong, making him feel a heavy pressure, even making it difficult to breathe.
This feeling flashed by so quickly that one might think it was an illusion, but Li Yunchong was certain it was not.
This confirmed that Li Wuqing was no ordinary person. Li Yunchong did not dare to act rashly and quickly followed his instructions, calling Li Shuo.
"Yes... Yes, yes, yes, I understand."
After dialing Li Shuo's number and explaining the situation, Li Yunchong was met with a barrage of scolding. He did not dare to retort and repeatedly agreed.
A moment later, Li Yunchong came over and handed the phone to Li Wuqing, saying, "Brother, Dad wants to talk to you."
Frowning slightly, Li Wuqing said indifferently, "Tell him I don't want to talk to him."
Li Wuqing harbored resentment towards Li Shuo. If it weren't for his pursuit of power and money, which led him to abandon his mother, Li Wuqing would not have been in such a difficult situation for over twenty years.
Li Wuqing's lack of sentimentality made Li Yunchong's face change slightly. He pleaded, "Brother, talk to Dad. We're family; there's no need to be so stiff."
Li Yunchong's seemingly casual tone made Li Wuqing even more annoyed. He glared at him coldly, his eyes flashing with a hint of menace, making Li Yunchong feel a chill and dare not say more, quickly hanging up the phone.
Standing in the courtyard, Li Yunchong tried to speak to Li Wuqing several times but was met with cold indifference, making him feel quite awkward.
Li Wuqing could guess some of Li Yunchong's thoughts—mainly his interest in his martial arts skills and his desire to learn more. However, Li Wuqing had no interest in dealing with him.
Being with Li Yunchong made Li Wuqing's mood worse, and when the police arrived, his mood worsened even more.
A police car drove into the remote village, and three police officers got out: a middle-aged police captain and two young officers, one male and one female.
The middle-aged police captain, Zhang Guoliang, entered the courtyard, glanced at Li Wuqing and Li Yunchong, and said, "I am Captain Zhang Guoliang of the Criminal Investigation Team. Which of you is Li Yunchong?"
Li Yunchong quickly extended his hand and smiled, "Captain Zhang, I am Li Yunchong. This is my brother, Li Wuqing."
Shaking Li Yunchong's hand, Zhang Guoliang's stern expression softened, and he said with a restrained smile, "You are Li Yunchong, indeed a fine young man. I am a good friend of your father, Li Shuo. Don't worry about this matter; I will handle it for you."
In fact, Zhang Guoliang and Li Shuo had only had a few meals together, and their friendship was superficial. However, people in business and politics were good at making polite conversation.
Li Yunchong quickly expressed his gratitude, "That's great, thank you, Uncle Zhang."
"Both of you, go inside and take a look."
Zhang Guoliang waved his hand, directing the two young officers behind him.
"Yes."
"Understood."
The two officers responded and entered the small building.
A while later, the two officers emerged, dragging four bound kidnappers, their expressions strange. They pulled Zhang Guoliang aside and whispered to him.
During the conversation, the three police officers cast surprised glances at Li Wuqing, who remained cool and composed.
After a long whisper, Zhang Guoliang walked over and asked Li Wuqing, "Are you Li Wuqing? Did you take down those four people?"
Li Wuqing nodded, "Yes."
Zhang Guoliang's expression immediately changed, showing a bit of respect. He smiled, "Your skills are impressive. Taking down four people so easily is remarkable."
"The brother is strong. I am Yu Bi. I also like to practice martial arts. It's a pleasure to meet you."
The young male officer walked over and extended his hand to Li Wuqing.
"Officer Yu, you are too kind."
Li Wuqing responded indifferently and extended his hand.
As soon as they shook hands, Li Wuqing felt Yu Bi's grip tighten. With a cold smile, he increased his own grip.
"Hmph."
Yu Bi's veins bulged, and his face showed signs of strain. Cold sweat appeared on his forehead.
Slowly releasing his hand, Li Wuqing smiled, "Officer Yu, your grip is strong. You must be well-trained."
Yu Bi's right hand trembled, and he struggled to retract it, showing a smile that was more painful than a frown. "Brother Li, you are truly impressive. I admire you."
Yu Bi and Li Wuqing's covert exchange was observed by Zhang Guoliang, who was surprised to see Yu Bi's defeat. He found it hard to believe.
Yu Bi was a skilled officer in the Criminal Investigation Team, transferred from the Armed Police. His skills were among the best, if not the best, in the team. Yet, he was thoroughly defeated by Li Wuqing in a handshake.
Li Yunchong, standing nearby, watched with shining eyes, his gaze on Li Wuqing filled with admiration and pride.
As a spoiled child, Li Yunchong had been involved in many fights and brawls. He had always fantasized that if he had strong martial arts skills, he would not fear fights, and incidents like today's kidnapping would not happen.
"Both of you, this kidnapping case is quite serious. Therefore, I need you to come to the police station with me to give a statement. What do you think?"
Zhang Guoliang said politely.
When he arrived, Zhang Guoliang could still maintain a certain level of formality out of respect for Li Shuo. However, after learning about Li Wuqing's martial arts skills, he became even more courteous.
