Chapter 10

It was night.

The problem of putting Kkami to sleep remained.

Since it was still the time when a puppy would miss the warmth of its mother's embrace, I decided to take Kkami to bed with me for a while.

Fortunately, Kkami was a genius and could distinguish between Shinya and Nga well, so I thought it would be fine to take him to bed.

Of course, I couldn't help but feel a bit anxious, but I couldn't put a diaper on him like a human baby.

"Come on, Kkami. Let's sleep with Dad?"

Although I suddenly became Kkami's dad, I didn't feel bad about it.

In fact, I thought I could be a sturdy shield for Kkami, who had been abandoned alone in the mountains.

Actually, I had already lived as a dad for three years, even if it was with bad memories, so the title of "dad" didn't feel strange.

"Now, we're family. So don't betray me, and let's live happily together."

I placed Kkami on my chest and gently stroked his black fur. He seemed to enjoy my touch, purring and making a strange sound, like a cat.

"You're so cute, Kkami."

The warmth of the small life made me feel warm in my heart. Kkami was healing the wounds I had received from people.

I thought I could lavish love on Kkami without getting hurt, as I was sure he would never betray me.

"When you grow up, you'll protect the house and Dad. You'll be a very reliable presence. Right, Kkami?"

I wondered if I was putting too much pressure on the young Kkami, but he looked at me with sparkling eyes.

There were times when I wondered if he really understood what I was saying.

"Anyway, let's sleep now. When you're young, just eating well, pooping well, and sleeping well is your job."

In response to my words, Kkami buried his nose in my chest and lay flat. What a clever little guy.

And in just a few seconds.

Purr!

Kkami fell asleep with a peaceful expression, as if there was nothing in the world to envy. I also started to feel my eyelids getting heavy.

Morning came.

Kkami and I had a good night's sleep.

I had some experience raising a newborn, so I was a bit worried about taking Kkami to bed with me. Babies often wake up in the middle of the night to eat, so I had to give them a bottle. After they ate, I had to change their diapers.

I was prepared to wake up a few times during the night, but both Kkami and I slept soundly until morning without waking up.

"In many ways, he's a special little guy."

After bringing Kkami from the mountains, I looked up how to raise a puppy on the internet, but Kkami's condition was quite different from what I learned.

He went to the bathroom on his own, didn't cry at night, and slept well.

"Kkami, let's have some formula!"

I planned to go out today.

I first fed Kkami formula.

Unlike human babies, it's better to feed puppies formula in a slightly upright position. Kkami, the gluttonous king, sucked the formula and went to the bathroom comfortably.

"I'm going to have some breakfast, so Kkami, play for a bit."

I prepared breakfast and got ready to go out.

I put on jeans and a black T-shirt.

I slung a small crossbody bag across my chest.

"Since we don't have a carrier, I'll use the crossbody bag."

Kkami is a genius, but he's still a puppy.

I decided to put him in the crossbody bag instead of walking him on a leash. The bag is small and fits his size well, and I thought it would give him a sense of security.

"Kkami, shall we try the bag?"

I put Kkami in the crossbody bag as a test.

When I zipped it up so only his small head was visible, he looked incredibly cute. I couldn't help but shower him with hearts. Fortunately, Kkami didn't seem uncomfortable.

"Let's check and then go."

I picked up my phone and searched.

I wanted to go somewhere with good reviews.

Fortunately, there was a pet shop with good reviews not far from the city. It was closer to my house, and the best part was that there was an animal hospital right next to it. I also checked the reviews of the animal hospital, and they were good, with comments about the kindness of the veterinarians and nurses.

I thought it would be good to get Kkami vaccinated and have his eyes checked there.

"Come on, Kkami. Let's go out with Dad."

I took Kkami to the garage.

I also brought the dog house. It was his first time going out in the car, so I thought he would feel more secure in the dog house while we were moving.

On the other hand, my daily routine was slightly disrupted, but taking care of Kkami, who had become my family, was just as important as going up the mountain in the morning.

"I can go up the mountain after we come back from our outing."

The crops in the garden were growing well without my care, and there was no problem with going up the mountain slowly after we returned.

Right now, the most urgent thing was to buy formula for Kkami. Fortunately, he slept soundly all night without waking up, but during the day, he was a gluttonous king.

"Let's turn on the navigation and go."

I entered the pet shop's address into the navigation.

Before starting the car, I warned Kkami.

"Kkami, it's dangerous if the car shakes, so don't come out of the dog house and stay still."

I placed Kkami in the back seat.

I wanted to put him in the passenger seat, but it could be dangerous.

While driving, I checked on Kkami through the rearview mirror.

"Kkami is being so good."

Thanks to my warning, the puppy in the dog house was quiet. Sometimes he would stick his face out of the house, which was incredibly cute. I couldn't help but smile. Being with Kkami made everything enjoyable and fun.

'I should definitely ask the vet about his breed.'

I thought a vet at the animal hospital would be able to tell me more about Kkami's breed.

We arrived at the pet shop.

I moved Kkami to the crossbody bag.

I decided to buy the necessary items at the pet shop first before visiting the animal hospital, as going to the hospital first might lower Kkami's spirits.

"Kkami, we need to buy formula and a bottle for you. When we go inside, you need to be good. Can you do that, Kkami?"

Kkami looked at me and seemed to nod slightly.

Could he really understand what I was saying?

I had that thought for a moment.

I stroked his head and moved towards the pet shop.

After a while.

"Kkami, you did a great job."

Kkami and I came out of the pet shop.

Miraculously, he didn't whine once during the shopping. There were many items in the pet shop that caught his interest, so he was a bit excited, but Kkami was really well-behaved.

Praise is essential!

Kkami's expression brightened with my praise.

"We need to put the items in the car."

We bought quite a few things at the pet shop.

I also bought a carrier, but it was his first day out.

I decided to just put Kkami in the crossbody bag.

The animal hospital was next to the pet shop, so I left the car and went to the hospital.

"Hello, is it possible to have a consultation without an appointment?"

"It might take a little while, but is that okay?"

"Yes, I'll register."

The hospital's interior was cozy, and the nurse was kind. When the nurse saw Kkami's head peeking out of the crossbody bag, she smiled brightly. He looked so cute to me, and apparently to the nurse too. But why is she looking at me and smiling?

"What's your dog's name?"

"His name is Kkami."

"That's a cute name. And you're handsome too."

"Ah! Thank you. Haha."

I awkwardly smiled at the nurse and sat down.

Anyway, I was here as Kkami's dad.

'Is Kkami the fifth in line?'

There were quite a few people in the waiting room with their dogs or cats. Some had their pets in carriers, and others were holding them on leashes.

The woman next to me had a dog.

It was a white Maltese in her arms, much older than Kkami.

She was wearing a pink outfit with accessories.

But the Maltese seemed to look down on our Kkami.

Woof woof woof!

The Maltese started barking at Kkami.

I was worried Kkami might get scared.

Grrr!

Our Kkami growled.

It was a cute sound compared to an adult dog.

But something amazing happened.

Yelp! Whine! Meow!

The Maltese and other animals in the room started crying and making a fuss, apparently scared by Kkami's growl.

"Oh my! What's going on?"

The Maltese's owner looked at Kkami with a puzzled expression.

She couldn't understand why the animals were reacting so strongly to the small puppy's growl. The Maltese was especially scared, with her tail tucked between her legs and her head turned away from Kkami.

"Kkami, that's enough. Be good."

Kkami calmed down at my voice.

The other animals also quieted down.

An older man with a cat on the opposite sofa looked at Kkami with amazement.

"Wow! That little guy has quite a temper, doesn't he?"

I awkwardly smiled, not expecting Kkami to have such a strong presence.

A little while later, after the other customers' consultations were finished, it was Kkami's turn.

"Bloodshot eyes. It's a bit unusual, but it's normal. There's no inflammation now, so let's keep an eye on it. The color might change as he grows."

I was relieved to hear from the vet that Kkami's bloodshot eyes weren't a big problem.

"Doctor, what breed is Kkami?"

"From his appearance, he looks like a wolf puppy, but with the bloodshot eyes... it's a bit ambiguous."

The vet tilted his head, unable to identify Kkami's breed accurately. I was disappointed, as I thought a vet would be able to tell.

"Since you're here, let's get his vaccinations done."

"Sure."

I held Kkami tightly while the vet prepared the injection. I was nervous.

Whether it's a person or an animal, no one likes being pricked by a needle, so Kkami might get scared.

"It will hurt a little."

The vet warned and brought the syringe to Kkami's buttocks.

"Huh? Why isn't the needle...?"

The vet was surprised.

The needle wouldn't penetrate Kkami's seemingly soft puppy buttocks.

The vet checked the needle to make sure it wasn't the problem and tried again.

But the needle still wouldn't go in.

"Wow, this is strange..."

The vet was sweating.

I was also surprised, but I didn't want the vet to think something was wrong, so I quickly made an excuse.

"He's too tense and using his strength. We'll get the vaccination next time."

"Hmm, that's a good idea."

I took Kkami and left the examination room.

Kkami, found in the mountains.

It was clear that he wasn't an ordinary puppy.
