"Then, find some time to move the things from the old branch here."

"But I don't want to stay here; I want to change the location."

"Do you have other ideas?"

"In fact, many of the items at the Peace Road branch are business-related. When you calculate it, their daily delivery volume isn't that high. If we move everything here, the business at the Xinsheng Community might be affected."

Xu Wen thought for a few seconds and said:

"My idea is to rent a larger storefront opposite our branch. This way, both sides can be managed, and it would be fair."

"The landlord is a wealthy woman, probably around 40 years old. If you go, you can at least get me a 20% discount." Xu Wen said with a smile.

"Are you asking me to use my good looks? Where is the address? I'll give it a try."

"Then, call me when you need me." Lin Yi said:

"I'll go back to work now. You can stay here and get busy."

"Don't go back yet. We've given the deliveries to Sun Qiang and Li Xin. They've been busy these past few days. You can start delivering again tomorrow, or..."

"Or what?" Lin Yi asked with a smile.

"Or stay here and help me scan codes. This way, you won't have to go out in the wind and sun." Xu Wen said with a smile:

"Which one do you want to choose?"

"Well, if others start talking, it wouldn't be good." Lin Yi said with a chuckle:

"I'd be seen as a kept man by a wealthy woman."

"Pfft, I'd be surprised if you were afraid of such things. Hmph." Xu Wen said with a proud tone:

"Anyway, I'm not afraid. Being afraid won't help; people will still talk. I might as well not care."

"It's good to think that way. These days, people laugh at poverty, not at promiscuity. Having money is more important than anything."

"That's exactly what I think. An adult's job is to make money."

"But I'll still go back to delivering packages. I can't sit still like you."

Hearing Lin Yi say this, Xu Wen wasn't disappointed at all.

Because Lin Yi wasn't rejecting her; he was just afraid of what others might say.

"Alright, I won't force you. Do what you want."

Xu Wen had thought a lot about Lin Yi's situation.

Although he didn't show it intentionally, many details revealed a lot.

Lin Yi wasn't like her. His demeanor and presence were more like those of a person in a higher position, not an ordinary person struggling to make a living.

He might have come here to experience life.

She didn't need to restrict him, nor could she.

"I'll go back tomorrow. If you need anything, call me."

After chatting for a while, the two started working.

Around 6 PM, the delivery truck came to collect the packages, and the day's work was almost over. The people who had come to help gradually left.

At this point, only Lin Yi and Xu Wen were left in the store.

"How's the recruitment going?"

"Three more people will come tomorrow. We've talked on the phone. They're from other courier companies, so there shouldn't be any problems." Xu Wen said, smoothing her hair:

"In about a week, everything should be running smoothly."

Lin Yi nodded, "What about the house? Do you need help?"

"Of course not." Xu Wen said proudly, lifting her head:

"The rent is actually quite reasonable. I just want it a bit cheaper. I can handle it myself."

"Alright."

"Do you have any other plans for tonight?" Xu Wen asked, holding her bag.

"Not really, do you have something?"

"Come with me to the supermarket. The fridge at home is empty, and I need to stock up."

"Got it, let's go."

The two got in the car, "I saw online that a new supermarket just opened. They're having a lot of promotions, and things are super cheap. Let's check it out."

"I'm already on board. Wherever you want to go is fine." Lin Yi said with a smile.

"That's more like it."

After about 20 minutes, they arrived at the supermarket.

It seemed like Xu Wen was in her element here.

Even though she hadn't been here before, she quickly figured out the layout of the supermarket.

She picked things very precisely, as if she had already decided what to buy, without wasting time.

In the end, they bought two carts full of items. Lin Yi felt that if he hadn't come, she would have had a hard time managing on her own.

"Is this much really going to be eaten soon?"

"Mainly because I'm a bit lazy. I'll buy more at once so I don't have to come often."

As they walked and chatted, they prepared to go to the checkout.

Xu Wen casually picked up a bottle of mineral water and put it in Lin Yi's hand.

"Since you helped me today, I can't let you go without a reward. This bottle of water is from me."

"Capitalists would cry hearing that."

"Having water to drink is already good. Others don't even have that..."

Xu Wen stopped mid-sentence.

Lin Yi turned to look at her and noticed that her expression was off.

Following her gaze, Lin Yi saw a man and a woman ahead.

The man was in his thirties, with a slightly mature hairstyle and ordinary clothing, but he gave off a sharp and intelligent vibe.

The woman beside him was much younger, around 26 or 27, wearing tight jeans, long hair, and a pretty oval face.

The two were chatting and laughing, then queued up to pay.

"Let's go. We won't buy anything."

"Huh? Not buying anything?"

Xu Wen's sudden words left Lin Yi a bit confused.

"Are you sure you're not buying anything?"

"Not buying anything."

With a cold tone, Xu Wen turned and left.

Seeing the situation, Lin Yi didn't bother with the items in the cart and followed Xu Wen back to the car.

Xu Wen was silent, with no expression on her face.

Recalling what had just happened, Lin Yi's sharp intuition told him that Xu Wen and that man had a complicated relationship.

Suddenly, Lin Yi thought of something and asked tentatively:

"You two aren't..."

"Yes, exactly what you think." Xu Wen said flatly, openly telling Lin Yi about it.
